This place is an amazing corner store, but I felt so bad about for the workers bc my friends are being annoying

Very good subs. This is the only place to go for our subs. The buns were good and crunchy.

My husband and I stopped here after a hike at Stackhouse Park. It looks like your average-Joe lunch spot, but I think it's one of the best (if not THE best) sandwich joint in the area. I asked what the most popular sandwich is, I was pointed to "Don's original" which I subsequently ordered and devoured. Looks like it's been around since the 50's, not surprised with its classic taste. My husband ordered an 18" turkey bacon ranch sub, unfortunately he received chicken instead of turkey... to be honest I almost gave a 4-star review just for that but couldn't do it because that sandwich was also tasty! Highly recommend - looks like they also do catering, would be a treat for a workplace meeting. read more

Had an In-Service day today and had the chance to step out for lunch. We seemed to have arrived right at the peak of a lunch crowd and the service was rather quick considering the crowd and orders being taken. The food came and we had the opportunity to stay and eat, the inside tables are convenient but I prefer the tables outside and today was just a little too chilly for me. So, we took the food to go. The sandwiches were good and the ease of using a gift certificate to purchase everything was an added bonus. **They also make a pretty great breakfast pizza that my coworkers formed a club for (making T-shirts and all!) and they do Friday breakfast on paydays. read more

When I was a child, I assumed that all sub sandwiches tasted this way. Not so. There is no substitute for Clark's, which is no doubt why they are in business decades later. The homemade bread is flaky and delicious, the topping - to - bread ratio perfect, and everything is wonderfully seasoned. A "Subway" sandwich is like chewing on a soggy egg carton. There is no going back. When headed towards my old hometown of Westmont, visions of Clark's subs float before my eyes as I enter the Johnstown city limits. read more

Update, hubby recently had a Clark's sub and was very disappointed, all of his sub dreams were crashed. Here we found out the reason why, the kids have taken over the store and it's just not the same sub that he knew and loved. I told him so! Sandwich shops will come and go but the test of time depends on quality of product. This is the real deal fellow Yelpers. All subs n sandwiches are made with daily homemade hoagie rolls and bread. The bread is light buttery and crusty. Despite what you place in the middle the bread alone is a huge hit with me!!!' They have the Freshest of meats an vegetables to fill them up and something to please everyone fer sure Today i chose the steak sub which is filled with mounds and mounds of real steak. Thats right.. REAL STEAK. Not steak-um quality meat. Each bite of tender steak was reason enough to come back again and again. The shop also has a variety of fresh baked cookies and baked items which go great as a dessert. Also a variety of drinks and side items such as cole slaw, potato salad, or mac and cheese. OMG Clark's subs!!! Ok so they're not the biggest nor the best I've had, but there is something about them. Maybe it's the memories of eating them since I was 5 or 6. Maybe it's because they are made with true Johnstown love. The shredded lettuce and the sub oil. Get the standard Clark's Sub. As my friend Jim says, "Drop everything, leave the baby in the highchair, and go get a Clark's sub." It's hella cheap too... Their burger's are pretty dang good too. What a location. Right across from the middle school. We'd get out of school and head over there and get a bag of Combos and Sani Dairy ice tea. OK Sani Dairy isn't around any more but Galliker's is just as good. Clark's used to have video games believe it or not. This was the first place I EVER saw Food Fight, Donkey Kong Jr., Bosconian, Yie Ar Kung-Fu. They even had GORF at one point!!! Got a Clarks regular for a bus ride a very good sub the ingredients there fresh and very tasty. Will try some other menu items next time.

Clark's is one of the few surviving Corner Stores from my youth. They make a great sub; I guess that is what has kept them in business all of these years. But I love the old time corner store feel of the place as well. Clark's subs are a must-have comfort food when I'm in town for a family visit. The bread's flaky exterior and tender interior are so sublime that it almost doesn't matter what's on the sandwich, but I would recommend Italian dressing over mayo whatever your choice. I really miss Clark's Cornerstore Subs!!! I used to go into Westmont / Johnstown for frequently and every time I did I had to have a couple of subs before I left town. Clark's Cornerstore is exactly what we fondly remember from the cornerstores of our youth. It's been in the same family since, well.... forever (at least in my case). And not much has changed. It's easy to tell they value their customers. the service is always friendly. I'm not sure if there's a Subway in that area, but there shouldn't be, because it wouldn't be half as good as Clark Cornerstore sub. Oh, and don't forget to grab a couple of homemade Gobs before you leave (especially banana)! read more

Wish I could rate higher cause the food is really good. But every time I order for pick up they tell me a time frame, I arrive and end up waiting at least 20 minutes longer. Picked up food today was told it would be 20 minutes. It ended up being 50 minutes after it was all said and done. That's fine but I didn't plan on sitting inside waiting for a half hour. read more

Clark's is a cool little family owned sub shop, and corner store. They have a pretty extensive menu with all types of subs, pizza, and baked goods. Inside the restaurant are about 3 tables so seating is limited as this is more of a corner store pickup joint. The subs are decent and really large, but they are lacking something that I just can't put my finger on. Overall I would try them again if in the area. read more

This place is out of the Twilight Zone. It harkens back to the 1950's with a tremendous selection of food and candy...plus personal service. The BEST subs in the entire country, especially the freshly baked bread. I have visited the Corner Store for the past 60 years and recommend it highly to tourists and locals. read more

Ann and her staff are beyond wonderful! I have been patronizing Clarks since 1972 when I would literally run to what was their west end location for lunch everyday in junior high school. Today, their family tradition lives on with the best subs in the Johnstown area plus a very extensive sandwich and dinner menu. Call for their daily lunch and dinner specials! Their catering service is superb..... they even catered my wedding! Call ahead and they will have exactly what you want and how you want it for a fast pickup. I've stopped on and off to grab a quick evening meal when I'm in a rush...it's very convenient, but since the dinners weren't ready I opted for a ham sandwich on a kaiser roll. Simple, right? The roll was nice...soft inside, crunchy outside. The cheese and additions, fresh. The ham...well, that was unrecognizable. I'm not kidding. It was sort of pressed like chicken loaf....in fact, it might have been but the colors were off. Sort of gray and pink mottled. I slid if off and added my own sliced chicken breast. Do not buy subs from this place. I bought 2 original subs, $20,00, yes I said $20.00, they were the worst subs I have ever had, the best part of them was the bread. There was 1 layer of very thin sliced chipped ham, not sure if there was any other meat, barely any cheese and very little veggies. Very disappointing no wonder they don't post the prices on the menu board, they're probably ashamed. read more

LOVE this place! When I was younger we would make the drive out to Johnstown to visit my grandparents and extended family- and we would always make our standard trip to Clarks for a sub! I got friends back home from Michigan hooked- so everytime I would visit I would have to bring a sub home for them, needless to say I had to keep a cooler in the car for the drive back. read more
