I am not impressed with them. We ordered four dozen pierogi from them drove 40 minutes to get them just to get them home and find out that they are store-bought pierogi that is only halfway cooked and on top of everything else we found random noodles in with the pierogi. When I called them, they refused to take them back and they refused to do any kind of a refund for them even a partial one. I would absolutely never do business with this restaurant again there's customer service. It's horrible to say the least. And their practices are deceiving. read more

First time being at Anthony's and it truly is the best Italian food in the area! I got the spaghetti with meatballs which came with a bun and Italian wedding soup, my friend got Chicken Parmesan with a bun and wedding soup. Let me tell you the sauce on the spaghetti was perfect, it wasn't watery like other places in the area and that's saying something. Both of the buns came out hot with softened butter on the side, the meatballs were handmade and had amazing flavor (to die for), the soup had all kinds of flavor, and it was only $12...deff couldn't beat the price! The chicken Parmesan was huge. Came with 2 big pieces of chicken on-top of spaghetti, the flavor was on key, and it was only $18, which could of easily been a $25 meal just for that. Anthony's was recommend by a local who told us it was his favorite restaurant in Johnstown. We didn't really buy it until we finally went tonight. I was so pleasantly surprised by Anthony's. First we ordered a glass of wine on "wine Wednesday" ($3 per glass... you can't beat that), for entrees we took our server's recommendations. We got chicken Fontino which was cheesy and juicy with a side of pasta (their meat sauce was amazing), and the Margherita pizza which was wood-fire-stove-cooked and absolutely delicious. We ordered the gelato for dessert (chocolate chip espresso) which was incredible. Will definitely return. Per our amazingly attentive and friendly server (Erin), Friday's are their busiest days. This restaurant obviously caters to the geriatric crowd and/or is still trying to take advantage of Covid Hours where restaurants are barely open. Just look at their website; it's difficult to find their hours of operation, but boldly asterisked on their main page is: * We Reserve the Right to Close Early *. 8:00 p.m. is early!? This doesn't change even for Friday and Saturday; hence geriatric crowd. If you don't want to work or be an actual restaurant, then don't. Certainly Johnstown doesn't have a shortage of restaurants that are there one day then gone the next. Will never attempt to dine at this "restaurant" again. read more

Hadn't been here in a long time - but today we had a banquet after a family funeral. We enjoyed a beautiful and spacious room, elegant tables, and a scrumptious buffet. What really impressed me, though, and why I will try to make it a point to return, is that I surveyed the buffet and commented to my mom that at least I could eat salad and potatoes. An alert staffer heard me and came right over to ask if I had a dietary restriction. No sooner were the words "gluten free" out of my mouth, than she offered to have something special made. I certainly didn't expect anyone to go out of their way for me, but she insisted, and they made a wonderful chicken filet for me without breading. A great family owned Italian restaurant. I usually dont think if eating here but this particular night we had a banquet. I was nothing but impressed with the quality of the food. Especially since it was mass produced food for a large group. The authentic spaghetti sauce was unforgettable. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the meatballs were as good as ive ever had. They also served an italian breaded chicken which was Cooked well and extremely flavorful. The red skinned potatoes and garlic green beans were excellent as well. They also serve homemade dinner rolls and sone of the best freshly brewed iced tea i have ever had. Service was stellar. Thus is a fantastic place with beautiful banquet halls. What a great experience. I will definitely consider having large celebrations here. Tge only downside is the bar was very limited. And im not sure why but they didnt let us run a bar tab which was most inconvenient. All in all job well done and i would recomnend read more

Been coming here since i was a kid. Best wedding soup I have ever had. Love the salad bar. Disappointed they took off a peach pecan chicken but thier chicken parm is also really good. Huge peice of chicken moist and tender with a crispy breading. We always go here when we come into town. Its one of favorite places. read more

My Johnstown-native wife turned me on to Anthony's a few years ago. I now request it anytime we're in the area. Great authentic Italian dishes. Sauces are homemade, most pasta is as well. This was my wife and I's first time dinning at Anthony's and we where very pleasantly surprised from the time we entered til we left. The food was some of the best I have had in awhile and we often dine out. The house made Gelato was off the chain to be honest our whole meal was delicious. Nice atmosphere, friendly service. Food prices are reasonable, the food is good - not spectacular, but good, and the portions generous. Decent soup and salad bar included with dinner. We came for dinner a couple of weeks ago and right off the bat, the hostess was a little snippy because our party of 5 didn't have reservations for early on a Thursday night when the restaurant was almost empty. I understand that it can be busy later on, but there wasn't even a large crowd by the time we left. We ordered two pizzas, the Americano and the Margherita, and they were both delicious. Honestly, some of the best I've had. The problem is that it took well over an hour for us to receive the second pie, only after our waiter and abother waitress went to "check on it." The pizza finally came and was great, but when it came time to pay it was forty minutes until we were given our credit card back. The food at Anthony's is absolutely the best in Johnstown. Went with my husband and 2 teenage daughters last night and we all loved the food. The salad bar was huge and delicious. Their wedding soup rocks. Yummm. The bread they gave us was baked fresh. Our entrees were great! The chicken fontina, chicken caprese and chicken Marsala are our favorites. They are fresh, homemade and wonderful. My mouth is watering just writing about our meals. This IS the place for authentic Italian food. So terrific! The staff is very friendly too. The server asked both if they were VETS and gave them a discount. I asked our server if they had any type of discounts, senior and Military/VET. I asked why she didn't ask us, 2 women, "oh those guys were regulars" so she knew they were VETS. hmmm...I heard you ask them. Anyway I told her we were both VETS, she said super and gave us a 15% discount. OMG!! The turmoil that caused! The hostess asked another server to check our ID. We served during peace time, didn't retire so no ID. Short of carrying our discharge papers we have nothing to prove we are VETS. Anyway after some discussion they gave us the discount. Go on Wed/Thus and ask for the discount if you are a VET but be prepare to prove it to these folks!! I'm only giving this place a 2 stars because of the server we had. First, they didn't have the beer my husband had ordered....poor planning! Then the salad bar was sparse....My husband asked two waitresses for cole slaw...to which neither replied....although we and the other guests did get to hear the lady in charge of the salad bar complain about working two jobs and not caring if there was cole slaw on the bar or not.
