The rooms are well-furnished, comfortable, and super clean. Breakfast offers a variety of options and there is a nice seating area. Hotels can't necessarily pick who stays but the clientele here seems to be more white-collar professional which means more quiet, neat guests, the parking lot isn't taken up with work trucks parked over the lines, etc ... there are just no bad surprises that I've experienced. I recently reserved a room and called the day before check-in and made a special request. The morning of my arrival, Linda called to verify my special request to make sure it was met. David who checked me in has worked here for more than two years and is friendly and welcoming as he has been since he started here. The service exemplifies what all hotels should offer but few succeed. If there was one thing I'd like to change, maybe the water pressure upstairs. As it is, it's more than acceptable but the shower and bathroom sinks were spotless and gleaming when I checked so eh ... I can't think of any other hotel I've stayed at that has so consistently exceeded expectations. It truly is a pleasure to stay here.

Because I had booked online I was given whatever room was available when I showed up, to give you a bit of forewarning, I got the accessible room which affords you a lot more room than a typical room you book. I will say that this place did it right. When I lived in the area the Holiday Inn was your typical older style. Then they decided to do a total tear down and rebuild. With them doing so they really made this place one of the newer and nicest places to stay in the Johnstown region. It sits on Scalp Ave. and feels like an island unto itself. Right next to a medical building, grocery store, and small strip mall. The strip mall offers a choice to eat so you really don't have to go far to grab a bite to eat or get in your car to go somewhere. Checking in was a breeze and I got through that fairly quickly. Once checked in I made my way to my room which was off the lobby area. The lobby area is a nice area with ample space to relax and this is where the free breakfast is served. It is bright, clean and just feels fresh. Even though my room was off the lobby area it was easier to get to my room by using an alternative entrance. I was the last room on the stretch of rooms and prior to the staff area. It was quiet in the area for being so near the lobby that I had no idea at times I was near the lobby. As I stated, my room was an accessible room which meant that it was larger than most. But it didn't feel empty. The bed was comfortable, I had a foyer type area where the fridge was located and allowed for me to store items. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was amazing. I was able to relax and not feel like I was being bothered or bothering other people. I can see why this hotel is a used for events when they are in town.

I stopped in during the recent Ethnic Fest going on in this area of the city and at that time they had Irish gig dancing held within. I love the reuse of the building. You can tell at one time it was an old industrial building of some sort from the brick exterior to the concrete floors inside. The chandeliers inside were quite creative as well. It appears they reused some old plastic bottles to give you the effect that it was blown glass. Who knew this existed in Johnstown? Now you do.

This place is by far my new favorite spot around for Pizza. I love brick oven and this places is the best yet by far. Sauce is great and thin crust is out of this world. The service and other foods aren't always the best but we just stick to the pizza. Dessert selection is small but every gelato favor we tried was good. We stop in once in awhile and get it for take out frequently. read more

I have never in my life experienced a meal that was so awful. I could not even choke down two bites. Even their pizza( Anthony's wood fired pizza?) was just so awful. Nicest people in the world work here, but please hire a new chief or give it up . So sad. read more

It was so clean that it burned my eyes to look at. He looked like a boss. His posture exuded confidence and power. His arms were extended in front of him, hands one on top of the other grasping onto a Crystal lion skull that sat on top of a black staff. You could barely make out the lions face through his thick knuckles that were dressed with the big diamond rings. He was staring straight ahead, his eyes piercing through the silence. He also wore a fitted fedora, and had the cleanest goatee I've ever seen. He was a boss. Standing behind him was a unit of a man who stood at least 6-feet tall with broad shoulders and muscular legs that bulged through his black shorts that were cut off above the knees. He wore a long black coat like he was secret service, and a gangster hat. His face was chiseled like the David, and he also sported a clean goatee. This man was handsome. I mean, seriously good looking. As soon as I made eye contact with him, I felt the butterflies in my stomach start fluttering. Bistros walked over to the boss looking figure and his guard, and greeted them both. It appeared as Bistors knew them. He definitely knew the body guard because they exchanged a bro hug and cheek kiss like true gentleman, and I swear I saw the guard slide a piece of paper into Bistros right pocket. "It's good to see you, Bruiser," Bistros said under his breath. "Always a pleasure," the guard named Bruiser whispered back, before ending the embrace and walking the boss to the table. As the boss approached the table, I had this urge to stand and greet him. Myself and the penguin looking man rose to our feet when Bruiser the guard pulled out a chair for the boss to sit in. The boss didn't say a word. Instead he stared at us intimidatingly and extended to us his right hand. The penguin and I knelt down before him and kissed the rings. The cowboy laughed and muttered something to himself. At seeing this, Bruiser moved behind Cowboy Soriano and whispered something into his ear. It clearly left the cowboy shook because he jumped to his feet and kissed the rings of the Boss before offering an apology. Five of use were seated at the table, and Bistros stood behind the one vacant chair and his eyes darted from person to person nervously. The boss finally spoke. "Where's the sixth," he said in a strong New York accent while staring at Bistros. "He should be arriving shortly," said the skittish waiter. "He just flew in today from Las Vegas." "Vegas?" I thought to myself. Who could possibly be joining us all the way from Vegas, and why? It didn't take long for me to get my answer. The door flew open once more and another man entered the restaurant. He was a lively gentleman who wore an oversized New York Rangers jersey to go along with navy dress pants, blew high tipped dress shoes, and a sun visor that read "Big Winner" on the brim. He was holding a golden guitar from guitar hero and wore tons of high roller bling around his neck. "Wassup you clowns," he said jokingly when he reached the table. This was a man that I could appreciate. Someone who didn't take themselves too seriously and was around for a good time. I could tell he was a good soul. "Welcome," Bistros said to the man. "You must be Vegas Strickland." "One and the same, but please call me 'Always Winning'," said the man. "Winner of five streak Big Pot Jackpot tournaments." He sat down and asked for a large glass of lemonade with a fork inside the filled glass. It was an odd request, but hey, to each their own. The table was now full, but no one knew why we were there, who invited us, and what the reason was for this meeting. "So, I'm guessing you all got the same invite that I did?" I asked. "I guess so," responded Soriano. "That appears to be the case," said Monsieur Huile. "Mine was delivered to me at the card table," explained Vegas. "We found ours on our car windshield two days ago," mentioned Bruiser.
