We've been buying jerky from the Country Butcher for 40 years and we've never been disappointed,…read moreuntil now. For some reason they've soaked the meat in oil before packaged it. I cannot think of any reason to do that other than increasing the weight. I had to use a paper towel and dry off every piece as I took it out of the package. See the pictures below. You can see the puddle of oil on the meat. You can see the oil stained on the paper towel I pressed out of the piece of jerky . Also check out the before and after pictures of what it looked like after I dried off the right hand piece. Unfortunately, I won't be back. Buyer beware.

I gave her a final head count of 30 and when she delivered she told me she gave us enough for 70 just in case. I believe it because we had a ton left over to take home and enjoy with our kids and probably for the rest of the month. We used our two tailgating grills to warm everything up and put in catering pans that I previously purchased. To say that everyone loved the food is an understatement. The dips and meat were out for 4 hrs before guests arrived. She had other weddings the same day but their boards looked absolutely beautiful. We only had an over abundance of carrots and some slice cucumber. My expectations, based on the photos she directed me to, was that we would have other vegetables...isn't that what a grazing table includes. She has a minimum for a grazing table and there were well under the minimum number but all I got was a pineapple not fit to eat. A ton of crackers and chips but little cheese/dip. It was fine in 15 minutes. The smoked chicken was only covered in soot. Not enough food for the number I ordered for. Buyer beware.
