Great location, wonderful food, reasonable prices and great ambiance. The name translates to…read moreMexican Cowboy, and that theme is reflected throughout in the artwork and food. The service was excellent and the portions were large. I love the menu and the variety of dishes. They played great dance music all the time, but we were able to easily talk and enjoy our meal. The parking was free, and it was fun to walk around afterwards and enjoy the historic square.

It is bright, cheerful and very clean. The menu has the typical Mexican restaurant options like tacos, fajitas, quesadillas, enchiladas and burritos and the also have a kids menu. I love their chorizo con huevo because not a lot of places have that kind of dish on their menu. It is chorizo (theirs has a great deal of flavor and isn't greasy like chorizo sometimes can be), onions, peppers and eggs. They serve it with tortillas and rice. Lots of food and packed with flavor. I have also tasted the enciladas and my husband loved the cowboy burrito. For drinks, especially during the summer they have awesome daily specials. I've tried the watermelon water and the cucumber lime. So very refreshing! Service is friendly and attentive and they are great about answering any questions that you might have about menu items. I highly recommend having lunch or dinner here and then heading next door to the creamery for delicious ice cream.

We normally eat at El Jalisco or Luna Azteca but this weekend we stopped in for Margaritas. We…read moretried a few different flavors and they all tasted great. Best margaritas around. And the bartender was top notch. Gerson was so nice and never left our drink go dry. He's so much fun so I highly recommend if you are thirsty for an alcoholic beverage, stop in El and see Gerson! We will definitely be going back again!

My friend and I have added this to our "frequently visit" list of where we like to eat. However, I have noticed a distinct change in the food. The amount of spice in the food only adds to the quality of it. There is a distinct improvement in the flavor that carries through from the first bite until the very last. There is a big change in the quality of the service as well. It took a tiny bit of a delay to get seated, but the food and service made it worth the wait. My beverage was filled before I asked for it, the waitress asked about the flavor of the food and if everything was good, and of course it was! The ambiance is amazing and the decorations appeared authentic. I cannot imagine the craftmanship that went into carving the booths! We will definitely be back here again- it is at the top of our list!

Been here quite a few times and ordered delivery as well. They are always on point! Service is fast…read moreand friendly. The place is very clean and the vibe is fun without being crazy loud. I really appreciate the speed and the willingness to bring more free chips! Normally I go straight for the tacos, which are always a hit. The specials on the back of the menu are SO worth checking out for some more unique finds. Today I tried a torta (forgive me forgetting the menu name) with birria that was absolutely fantastic. The combinations are also a great price, especially if you can make it for lunch. Of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't also mention the happy hour. You can get some great deals here and they have an excellent drink selection. Alongside the alcoholic beverages there are also non-alcoholic smoothies with the same flavor options as daiquiris, so great options there too!!

We're awash in Mexican restaurants where we currently reside, and I would be perfectly fine not…read moreeating in most of them: same boring menu of tacos, fajitas, refried beans and yellow rice. Plaza Mexican is a cut above most. The decore is eclectic, walls covered with a zany mix of brown gunite-like gravel, white and silver tile, faux brick, etc.--a definite Aztec vibe, I believe. We went there with one of our toddler grandsons and our daughter. We ordered table-side guacamole, enchiladas, street corn, fried plantains, and a novel Philly cheesesteak burrito. Well our little guy loved the guacamole, eating almost the entire bowl. For the adults, it could've used a lot more lime juice, and seasoning. The street corn was okay, but could have been sweeter. My burrito was a cheesy mix of lightly sautéed green peppers, onions, and queso cheese. I was slightly disappointed with the meat. It was definitely ground beef, and I expected more like a minute steak. But it was an interesting dish that I would probably order again. The menu said it had mushrooms, but they were hard to find. I washed it down with a draft Negra Modello. Our grandson and daughter liked their enchiladas. Our server was pleasant and on the ball; she gave us excellent service. You're lucky to have the plaza in town. I know it has been in business quite a while and they do a great job!
