Best boudin in Acadiana. It has just the right rice to meat ratio, nice and spicy and well seasoned…read moreand NO GRISTLE! The store is super clean and well organized and you are greeted the "Cajun way" when you walk through the front door. They also run really great specials so watch for those on social media or the "Flipp" app!

Valentine's Day yelp review. There were no fireworks or flowers. Normally I hit the cemetery before…read morethe big day but I was pressed for time and had a long drive to see the busy counselor. Don't judge those people don't need flowers anymore. I reduce reuse and recycle. (I'm pandering shamelessly to the millennials and all their over judgy nonsense!) I digress. I was also out of fireworks and no stand along the Highway. I love a non traditional celebration. If u can find someone who can get into the moment and get all off season with u all the better. Facebook foreplay before the big day was on point. No memes or themes were off limit no matter how sacred the holiday. If that's not the fat, winged cherub shooting a dart I don't know what is. My partner in crime (we are still negotiating terms of endearment and I'm anticipating extra points for this one! PS if anyone has any "appropriate terms" for this stage of the "relationship" please feel free to leave them in the comments below. She often underestimates the powers of "my people".) She secured 2 bottles of prime Beaujolais nouveau 2021. They went down like a fat kid on a see saw. It is a mutual favorite (the wine to be clear. I was forbidden from mentioning other seasonally appropriate mutual favorites on pain of death) and we both sat and sipped as we watched the sun go down. One could suppose the passing of a step mom and grueling several weeks and covid recovery and work and stress over meeting her people and indecision on a fixed plan for the big day and kids in town and all underfoot and the cold and general fall lingering malaise would completely derail this occasion. Nothing could be further from the truth (another possible epitaph for the author. I'm on fire for 3 am). Good times and tears were had by all. It created a bittersweet parting/starting moment that was very pleasant on the palate. It was a brief "date" but we savored each moment. Lots has happened over the last several weeks. We are navigating the rapids together, me at the helm looking the part and her on the oars. I know I have a yelp "following" and I didn't want to disappoint on the big day. Working on bringing it every day because you never know when you'll be yelp reviewed. Peace out

But as always the service here is amazing and so helpful. 5 out of 5 We got Boudin Sausage, I was quite shocked at how mushy it is compared to sausages that have more of a bite to it. 4 out of 5 Space is nice and clean 5 out of 5 Over all happy to say it was well enjoyed 5 out of 5

Pepperjack boudin balls = 5 stars. Full Stop. Period. End of sentence. That could be the review…read more The rest is lagniappe. That means a little something extra for you non-Louisianians. It is pronounced Lag-Knee-App, make sure you say it that way a lot when you come visit us. All the cool kids do. Best Stop is a must stop for anyone road tripping along I-10 in Louisiana. Who needs a Bucees when you have this place. The aforementioned boudin balls are the best road trip snack ever. Fried spicy, cheesy, delectable delights. On my most recent visit, I got their in house made beef jerky, homemade pork skins, the boudin balls and some jalapeno honey mustard to take home. All of it wonderful. One of my buddies who I was road tripping with, was smart enough to bring a cooler. He bought frozen boudin balls, a few pounds of boudin, some smoked sausage and some sort of stuffed chicken. This place has all kinds of meat! I was jealous and I will definitely bring a cooler next time.

This review is based on my visit on June 25, 2025…read more I have seen this advertised in the Saint Joseph's church bulletin for a long time and finally decided to run in here instead of Piggly Wiggly. I run in because I'm going to make a Cajun spaghetti so I need ground meat, sausage, and decided to just do a jar sauce instead of making it from scratch. Was definitely having a conversation with one of the workers who was stocking the shelves on the spaghetti aisle about making it from scratch or the jar. Well, I decided to go jar and bring everything up to the counter and had the pleasure of encountering Edra. I put my things on the counter, keeping in mind I have never been into the store before and chose to go here over Piggly Wiggly, Edra begins checking me out and looks at me and says everyone is coming in here for spaghetti today. I say oh we all must be on the same wavelength. Then she proceeds to say, "y'all are all lazy because y'all don't make your sauce from scratch." It took every being of my cell to not react to this very out of line statement. I don't care who you are, how old you are, what position you hold calling customers that are choosing to come to your store over other grocery stores that I had to pass up to get here is flat out rude. I just looked at her smiled and said I hope that you have a great day. She did not bother to hand me the receipt or the bags I had to walk around the counter, grab the bags and the receipt and I walked out. Needless to say, I will not be shopping there anymore and will happily choose Piggly Wiggly any day. It really pains me to say this because I do believe in local shops and if it would've been any other day, I probably would have not been very nice to Edra
