Owned by Rhonda Rouses, this is a local chain in this little part of Lousy Anna. This is a perfectly adequate grocery store located in Lafayette. It's a little on the expensive side, but then so are a lot of grocery stores these days. I would say that the big box stores like Walmart have cheaper groceries if you want to keep it local, and this is a nice option and they have some good local Goods.

This a very nice store that is clean and organized. As you walk in you can smell the fresh food being prepared in the deli! They have salad bars, cheese bars, olive bars and even prepare fresh sushi while you wait! The produce section is always on point with a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. If you shop organic, Rouses has a large section dedicated to organic produce! They also have a large wine selection, with various local craft beers and a walk in freezer when you want cold cold beer! If beer and wine isn't what you are looking for they have just about every spirit you can think of. Rouses is known for their great selection of meat and seafood! If you are looking for prepared, seasoned and ready to cook meats this is your place. All seafoods are fresh and kept on ice for you to pick out! The aged beef is wonderful if you are looking for a great cut to put on the grill!! If you are looking for fresh food visit the locals here at rouses they will greet you as you come in and take good care of you!!

Rouses is a local chain that has an excellent selection of foods. When it comes to sausage, salsa, sauces, spices and things like rice, gumbo and seafood spices, organic foods and fresh meats and seafood, this place rocks. They also have great prices on coffee and other common grocery items. This isn't a Walmart and your not gong to find furniture or a wide selection of toasters or appliances, but for fresh Cajun foods and spices this place is #1 in my book. I should also add that they have a great alcohol selection which includes hundreds of beer and wine selections and of course all of the top shelf alcohol you might need for your next party. Enjoy!

Bulk food options for zero waste!

A petty good option for those trying to go zero waste, but still want to buy at locally owned store. They have a pretty good bulk section: candy, chocolate, dried fruit, snacks, granola, oats, corn meal, rice, seeds, coffee, peanut and almond butter. I haven't explored much or the rest of the store with my new zero waste eyes yet, but the salad bar could have some good options. That also have a good selection at the butcher.

Very high quality vegetables, meat and everything in between. Place is clean and employees are willing to go out of their way to help you!

The cashier at the money order line was incredibly nice to me. Items are affordable and easy to locate. I'll be going there again.

Everyone was super friendly and i just love supporting small businesses! I am a sucker for baked goods so stopped by 3 bakery booths and everything was so good. Lucias Bakehouse was my number 1, their donuts....omg. I also grabbed candles from the moonlit path, dog treats from PJs jerky and designs and garlic olive oil spread from delizioseaux. I wish i could go back to their holiday market this week, but I'm just in town for the weekend. You definitely have to stop in whether youre just visiting or live in the area. Its dog and kid friendly with a great play area on the other side of the park!

The stars of the show at this medium-sized food and retail market are the live Louisiana French…read moremusic (9 fellas sitting in a circle playing an accordion, harmonica, etc.) and the stunning mossy oak that looms over all of the vendors providing impressive shade. Ample parking can be found in the grass and this market is very dog friendly with water bowls and all. Vendors ranged from artisan wood walking sticks and cookie dough varieties to a bacon booth and vendor specializing in middle eastern eats like tabbouleh, stew and halva (much lighter than the surrounding Southern eats like beignets). Prices were reasonable and there was a fun spirit in the air with free Santa rides on a Gator and trailer weaving its way around the market. The market is open until noon. I'm not certain if this is all year round (we were there the weekend after Thanksgiving). My only regret was not taking home a container of the halva (it's hard to come by in Indiana;).
