I love coming to this store during my lunch hour or after work. The deli is amazing and you can always look at the calendar for daily menu items. There is also a salad bar where you can pick all your toppings. The wine selection is extensive and on certain days you can get samples of crackers, wine, and cheese. On my sons 6th birthday I was able to retrieve a customized cake from the bakery. The service was great and they are so friendly!! read more

Good ole small town grocery store! You forgot something at the marketplace? Here's where you go! You want a bottle of speciality wine to go with your steak or fish? They've got it. This store has added a whole section for speciality wines and foods. In the same area, they also have flowers. Convenient because there are several nearby hospitals and medical buildings within walking distance! Another plus is the sushi chef that prepares fresh rolls daily, and the deli that prepares single sized entrees to provide a quick and easy dinner, such as ribs, brisket, rotisserie chicken, spaghetti, and much much more. Sunday bar-b-que dinner was AMAZING! It was enough for two people and the food was exceptionally good! I had a huge pork steak, rice dressing, yams and mac & cheese. Excellent meat department! Love their deli items- my favorite is the chicken salad. They have two kinds with pecans and without. At first I wasn't too sure about pecans in my chicken salad but it's superb. Plate lunch are excellent as well. Friendly staff and quick checkout. read more

Champagnes & Subway: Unprofessional, Lazy, Couldn't care less about their customers, Poor Customer Service. Don't go here! I work nearby and only get 30 minutes for lunch. I arrived at the Subway and maybe had 5-6 people in front of me. No prob, I understand it's the lunch hour. I wait in line for 25 minutes, noticing there's a particular long amount of time spent at the register. When I got to the register, the lady asked "Cash or card?" I said "Card". I'm already needing to get out of there because my lunch is almost up and I haven't gotten my food yet!! She said that because I was paying with a card, I had to go into the attached grocery store and wait in the customer service line just to run it! They wanted me to wait an additional 20-30 minutes in the grocery store JUST TO PAY for my food!! I just left the store without my food. No apologies for inconvenience at all from the staff. I had to pay for an expensive lunch on Waitr and have it delivered to my office so I wouldn't pass out from low blood sugar. I had to sneak bites in-between patients and my food got cold quickly because I didn't have time to eat. I called the Subway Customer service line and complained about my experience. I received a call from one of the Grocery store managers, Sarah. She did not apologize for my experience, would not offer compensation. She kept saying over and over again (like a lifeless robot) that it's normal for them to send people in the store and wait in line even longer to pay for their subway meal (Umm Really??) I told her the employee should have at least told the people waiting in line that there would be a long wait because of this. She refused to acknowledge anything wrong that the store, or what Subway could've done, or could do better. She was really unprofessional and rude. She told me multiple times that she and the Subway owner didn't think my experience was a massive inconvenience (Yes it was!) and they weren't going to compensate anything. I refuse to patronize or endorse this Subway and Champagnes, and my entire office (Who were regulars at both) are no longer giving any business to them. Sarah at Champagnes really displayed how little she (And the Subway owner) cared about their customers and for that they aren't going to get any more money from a lot of people. Chile let me tell y'all what happened.. So I go to Champagne's Market in Lafayette and buy some stuff to make a salad. So I get home i'm making my salad and I use imitation crab lump meat in my salad, avocado's, pepperoni, pepper jack cheese and lettuce..so I started to crumble my crab meat in with the other ingredients and lo and behold i smell something fishy..ok so I look on the package and it says November 28, 2016..I B got damn..so now I done messed up $20.00 worth of salad with some bad crab meat...so I call Champagne's Market in Lafayette and they tell me all they will refund is my crabmeat..I said but I have my receipt for everything I bought there and I can't use any of it because the crab meat is mixed in with it..so they hung up on me..so I put the big salad in a bag and drive to the store..after a brief conversation with the so called manager a woman...she told me she never received any complaints before..so now you are invalidating my complaint..I told her to smell it, she told me to lower my voice..I told her my voice wasn't loud and it was going to stay at the same level. The bitch was rude then told the other manager to call the police..Now I'm not scared of the Police because I'm standing here with stink spoiled food and a receipt and I didn't do anything wrong..well two cars of cops came and asked what was the problem..We both told our stories...and they had to give me all my money for all the product that was bad...Thank you Mr. Policeman...Moral of the story if you are black and shop at Champagne's Market in Lafayette they do not value you as a customer...She told me not to come back..bitch why because I brought back spoiled food with a receipt for purchase..never ever going back in that store again.. read more

love this little grocery store. I go for their stuffed chickens-- my favorite is the whole boneless chicken stuffed with crawfish etoufee. the butcher will stuff one on the spot for you. they have a selection of pre cooked dinners too. their spaghetti is super tasty, its a little sweet. also has a nice salad bar. read more

Convenient location.. But check all dates on any food products purchased. Multiple times I have had to go back and get refunds for expired foods still on shelves/fridge areas. I feel they slack on maintaining the market floor. Someone should be checking expiration dates at least once a week, or at least when restocking! Be cautious...! read more
