I have two issues to comment on. First, when you pay $120 for a product, you shouldn't have to pay an additional $72 to have it shipped. Then, when the shipment arrives and the foam cooler has a 7" diameter hole in it, no dry ice in the cooler, and the meat wrapper is cut open with a portion of the meat thawed out, there should be an immediate replacement. Not with this company. They wouldn't do anything until they received a reimbursement from FedEx. If I waited for that to occur, it would have been past Thanksgiving. In a nutshell, horrible customer service - they truly do not care about the customer, and making sure the customer's needs are met. Not impressed at all. Threw the Turdunken out because I didn't want to chance getting my invitees sick. read more

I ordered 5 lbs of Andouille sasuage from Cajun Grocer as I have done many times in the past 13 years. It has always arrived in a timely manner and frozen. But this time, after receiving TWO notices from FedEx that the shipment had been delayed, and paying more for shipping than the product cost, the product arrived thawed, "room temperature" and at 10:45 PM, when the final FedEx message indicated it would arrive before 8PM....3 days after the original date of promised delivery. Cajun Grocer has declared that it arrived within the 3-5 days delivery that was expected and that FedEx claims there were no delivery delays and refuses to make good on the $80 I spent on the entire fiasco. I have been a customer for many years without issues. At the end of November 26, 2025 and early December 9, 2025 I ordered a total of 4 lbs. of crawfish. The order arrived timely and frozen as promised. I immediately removed them and placed them in the freezer. On Christmas Eve, we took them out to make crawfish pie and were disappointed. The stench from each bag was overwhelming not to mention we tried one and had to spit it out. Needless to say, we weren't able to make our Crawfish Pies. I sent an email to them explaining the situation and requested a refund. Remember, I am a customer who has spent thousands of dollars with no issues. Wheels went by and crickets. Finally I called them on January 13, 2026 and let's just say it wasn't the customer service experience one would have expected from the frontline employee and the Supervisor, Christina. Both stated, what I am assuming is the standard reply that they are the distributor and I would need to talk to the processor. I have seen this particular refrain given to other customers. As I told them I paid you not the processor. One told me I need to take a picture to which I replied, how do I take a picture of a smell, no reply. Christina told me she was denying my refund because the package arrived as promised. She reversed course after I reminded her of my loyalty and sterling record to her company and said she would do the research and see if they were issues with the Lot. Apparently she never did because today I get told that due to the delay between the shipments and reporting nothing can be done (Another excuse). So let's get this straight, it's ordered for the holidays, it's reported within 29 days and 16 days respective and that's too long. But yet they tell you to order early due to potential shipping delays? So for $88.00 they have lost a customer who over the years has spent thousands and has a sterling record with them. So unknowingly to me, even if you change your address on their website if you use PayPal it will automatically use the billing address you have on PayPal as the shipping address. I have purchased live crawfish from Cajun Grocer about once a year for the last five or six years. Service since Covid is horrible. Even though I pay for the overnight delivery to arrive by noon on Saturday, it fails. My last order was one sack of crawfish (30 lbs). It arrived 2 hours late and about 1/3 of the crawfish were dead upon arrival!!!! Unacceptable and the company seems to have zero interest in improving service. Will no longer use them and highly caution others from using them as well. read more

Fedex Express Saver - $70.90 Fedex 2 Day - $83.45 Standard Overnight - $118.72 A order that cost $89 should not cost $71 to ship! I have checked other Cajun /Creole companies..ie listed here below: Louisiana Crawfish CO and Creole Food CO These companies are only $37 to $38 for the same exact arrival time with similar product availability. I would give them NO stars if the review allowed! I ordered some sausage for a Mardi Gras themed cookout. I paid waaay too much for shipping and upon arrival the package was sliced open as if to be prepared and then someone decided to put it back in the freezer. I sent proof in the form of pics as requested. They denied replacement and/or reship. Claimed it was damaged by the dry-ice, that was, by the way ,in its own separate bag inside a styrofoam cooler. Clearly the photos indicated it was a clean straight slice at the sausage link, not even at the vacuum sealed seam, and NOT a tear from shpg and handling or packaging. I WAS a repeat customer. On November 19, 2020, I ordered a Turdecken from Cajun Grocer and was charged $146.03. It arrived on November 25th in a sealed container with dry ice and still frozen. The turducken smelled spoiled, but we still cooked it on November 26th hoping that we would still be good. Unfortunately, the turducken was spoiled, inedible and ruined our thanksgiving. I left multiple messages on the Cajun Grocer voice mail from Nov 26th to the 29th and final received a response on Nov 30, 2020 from a lady named Stevie. She apologies and said that "they have received multiple calls from customers stating the same that their orders were also spoiled" she also stated "the hurricane that they had caused long term power outages and many items in their freezers spoiled" lasts she stated that "management is aware of the issue and will be issuing complete refunds". On December 3, 2020, I called back and talked with Stevie again and she said, "had over 15 complaints from customers regarding spoiled orders and waiting for management to issue refunds should be in 7-10 days." On December 16,2020, I called again and talked with Stevie and she said, "management was overwhelmed with the amount of complaints on spoiled orders and it would take a few more weeks for a refund". On Jan 8, 2012 I called Cajun Grocer one more time in hopes on getting a refund. I talked with Michelle who was very rude, and said, "management decided not to give refunds due to spoiled orders." I told her that was irresponsible, and I would be contacting the health department in her area and filing a complaint and she hung up on me. I called the Metairie County Health department and filed a complaint against Cajun Grocer for selling spoiled and potentially dangerous food. Best Turduckens ever, repeat customer. Have had both traditional stuffing & pork stuffing. Pork stuffing seemed to have cooked faster, and didn't slice as smoothly as traditional. Made for some great tasting leftovers. Looking forward to trying stuufed boneless chickens. I recommend Cajun Grocer to all. Horrible customer service! After reading some other reviews here, I see they have an ongoing issue with shipping and NOT refunding money due. We ordered a Turducken for Thanksgiving and paid $25 for 2 days shipping. It was supposed to arrive on Wednesday and never showed up. When I called them they said they would overnight another one, even though it would be AFTER Thanksgiving, but would not refund our shipping cost because it would cost THEM extra to overnight another product. Absolutely horrible, fraudulent service! They don't protect their products for shipping and then refuse to make it right when your items arrive damaged and not usable. You can be guaranteed to lose money if something goes wrong with your shipment! We have a Cajun food truck in NC and hoped to use them as a source for a lot of our LA-sourced items. We've ordered over $800 in 3 recent orders. This week's delivery included 4 jars of the Boscoli olive salad, $120 worth of product. Two jars came open during shipping and spilled since these 4 heavy jars were shipped in the original box, no bubble wrap or other protective material. The entire outside of the box was covered in an oily mess. After sending detailed photos, multiple e-mails, and a phone call (plus an offer to video call them to show the damage), they are unwilling to do anything other than issue a $29.99 refund to cover 1 jar. They apologize for the "inconvenience" in making me eat the other $29.99 + the $35+ in shipping costs. They truly do not care about their customers or business practices - you have been warned! First order and everything went well. I'm from SW Louisiana living in Vegas. I am familiar with the products and the companies who make them. Unlike the disgruntled customers who purchased ready made meals I bought the products needed to cook authentic creole dishes myself. Prices are reasonable, the order was processed, shipped and delivered faster than expected. I will be cooking a chicken and sausage gumbo tomorrow with some delicious Savoie Andouille Sausage. I called today to place an order and was informed they cannot do a pick-up order as tax exempt, even though I explained that I work for the state and was willing to provide a copy of our LDR... but apparently you can order online and it is tax exempt? It's a shame, because I placed a pickup order with them in 2018, tax exempt, with no issues. Now if I choose to use them I will have to pay over $25 to ship an item 50 miles away! read more

I have to agree with other reviewers, unfortunately they are going downhill. Recently ordered live Belle River crawfish. Shipping was fine, arrived on time. However, you could smell them without opening. There were A LOT of dead crawfish, also I was shipped field run not the premium priced Belle River crawfish. Definitely not fished, packed and shipped same day as advertised. After three emails and three Calls to customer service the problem remains unresolved. Currently working with the credit card company in an attempt to resolve the problem. I have ordered from them in the past but I cannot recommend ordering from them now. read more

The Turducken!! More like a Tur-ken..but more on that later. My friends & I are incapable (or too lazy) of deboning & stuffing birds into one another, so we did the next best thing, ordering online! For under $100, we got a 15lb turducken w/creole pork & cornbread stuffing. It arrived fast and we followed the instructions to thaw it, but after 3 days, the inner core was still pretty frozen (and unfortunately we didn't realize that until we started cooking) so I suggest sticking a thermometer into the turducken a day before to see if there needs to more defrosting before the actual day of cooking to ensure the birds are thoroughly defrosted. The cooking part itself was really easy, literally just stick a thermometer & monitor (while occasionally basting). Cook time was probably closer to 6 hours for us because of the thaw issue, but I imagine if it was properly defrosted, cook time would probably be closer to 4-5 hours. Taste-wise: I really wasn't that impressed. Can't really distinguish between the turkey & the chicken, and it was pretty standard. The duck was delicious, but they only give you a duck breast (instead of a whole deboned duck), so there wasn't much of that to go around (hence, it was really more of a tur-ken). Overall, probably no more turduckens in my future, unless they upgrade the duck breast into a whole duck. But, it is a worthwhile product to try once, especially since it is so easy to order online & cook. And there were 21 people in our party, minimal leftovers. read more

TURDUCKEN!!!!! finally! i've wanted this for years. ever since i discovered the fine art of stuffing animals with other animals i was fascinated. and finally this xmas, i ordered one for my family. i decided to get one stuffed with a cajun pork stuffing so that we all could enjoy 4 different animals at once. i had the 15lb monster shipped to my family ahead of me and my sister was in charge of defrosting and cooking. i think it took her a few days of defrosting in the fridge and an hour longer cooking than the instructions said. but when that bird-ish pile came out of the oven and we sliced into it, it was perfect. i had heard stories of the meat being dry but that was not the case at all. the turkey was soooo juicy! and really good! no extra seasoning required! we didn't let the meat rest very long since we were all pretty hungry, and so the meat layers didn't hold to well while slicing but it didn't matter. it was hard to distinguish the turkey from the chicken and the duck tasted like turkey so it didn't really matter what you were eating. my only complaint is; i didn't like one of the stuffings. there was some between each layer and some in the dead center. one of them had a gritty texture i wasn't fond of but it was easy to avoid. my entire family was pleasantly surprised with how good the turducken was and we all enjoyed the week's worth of leftovers it yielded. more than a fun novelty, this was a quality 4 animal product. read more

The turducken was the best ever. It made a great Thanksgiving dinner centerpiece with more standard Thanksgiving sides. It was a great way to celebrate my sister and I seeing each other again after two years. The crawfish boudin also was excellent. The customer service answered questions quickly and clearly. I separately ordered a huge box of canned Blue Runner beans that arrived in excellent condition. Two orders out of two I have made were handled well. Apparently it was from a different supplier due to a hurricane issue in the south. Wish they would have told me that when I payed $80 for it. No duck in it and very dry. My husband was going to make a gumbo for his office and ordered on Dec. 12th. He paid for expedited shipping ...$26 plus ... so he could make the gumbo on the 19th for the party on Friday the 20th. If I could give a lower rating, I would. I ordered hog head cheese and I had to order 5lbs in order to have the order shipped to me. The order was $19.45, and the shipping was 22.16. When the order arrived, I was so disappointed. The packaging was the worst. All of the packs had freezer burns, meaning that air got into the packaging. The expiration dates were a month away...they were getting rid of their older supply instead of giving me the fresher stock. I called customer service and they refunded the cost of the item but not the shipping cost. Never been to Cajun Grocer, but decided that this would be the year that I get my first Turducken on-line. I ordered a 15LB Turducken with Cajun sausage and cornbread stuffing. I also placed an order for the Boudin sausage sampler pack. I live in Hawaii so I was a little nervous of my order getting here in a timely manner and still frozen, I opted for the overnight shipping. I placed the order on a Thursday and got an email early Friday that it shipped and I received it that Friday in the evening! I couldn't believe that it came in that fast. I cooked the Turducken per directions for a Christmas eve dinner with some of the Boudin sausage. It was Awesome! Everyone loved it. I went online 0n the evening of 11/3/19 to order a Turducken with Cajun sausage. I chose the 15 lbs which showed a price of $69.99. However, when I put it in the cart and tried to pay for it the price would jump to $79.99. Tried this several times but the same thing would happen. I put the order through (stupidly) assuming that when I called them the next day they would see the error and adjust. WRONG! When I finally contacted them today the young lady I spoke to insisted that the item I was buying was no longer at that price. I tried to explain to her that it was when I ordered it but I might as well have been talking to a brick wall. I let the order stand and I hope it is good. UPDATE: After I emailed them someone from Cajun Grocers called me, apologized for the confusion. Explained that they have "Seasonal" help (I get that) that may not understand everything and assured me that the $10 difference WOULD be refunded in 10-14 days. Very nice lady. A friends family came to visit the west coast months back and brought some delicious gulf shrimp. After that visit I started looking for a site to order some for myself. I found a few websites and did some price comparison. Cajun Grocer had the best deal. I was a bit curious why their pricing was lower but ordered anyway. I ordered the Jumbo shrimps. The first order, was fine, enough Jumbo but has some other sizes mixed in. Nothing that I was too concerned about. Second order, still Jumbo, I only had maybe 1/3 of the bag Jumboish sized and the rest ranging from small to large. This was unacceptable. Considering I had purchased 8 orders for a total of 40lbs. (Group purchase to save on shipping) I sent an email to Cajun asking why I ordered Jumbo only to receive mixed and didn't get a response. A few days later, I got a surprise replacement shipment. Then I received a reply from Cajun saying they shipped it by accident and their shrimp is Jumbo. Third order (replacement shipment), I opened the bags and still bags of mixed shrimp. I sent photos to Cajun, and to this day, still no reply. I gave them ample time to reply so we can come to a resolution. Now I understand why they have lower prices then other websites. I believe there is another review from a while back with the same issue. In the business world, this is called Bait and Switch. So be warned before buying. read more

OMG! So I ordered about $90.00 worth of food and paid about $60 for overnight shipping to Alaska.. The food is absolutely disgusting! False advertisement!!! The contents of the packages look nothing like the enticing photos. The quality of food looks more Like slop you feed to a pig.. Every appetizer had boudin shoved in it... for Instance I ordered the shrimp Cajun bites and lord behold it was nothing but boudin filling rolled into a ball to be deep Fried???
