    Mocktail - Beauregard
    Felicia D.

Cool, buzzing place with awesome service and wonderful food! Ray at the front was so welcoming and nice. We arrived early for our reservation on a Saturday and he sat us immediately at a table and was nice enough to charge my phone. We had been out all day sightseeing so this was super helpful. We had Jacquedda as our server - another very sweet and helpful person. She made recommendations that really helped us out and we enjoyed everything she suggested. The mocktail she recommended - the Beauregard - was one of the best I've had. As a non-drinker, it's nice to find n/a drinks that are special. We were a party of three and did the family meal. I will say, it was a ton of food, we boxed up what was remaining and gave it to someone at the subway since as out-of-towners, we knew we wouldn't be able to eat it later. So the amount you get is well worth the $ but for the 3-4 portion, better to have 4 people so as to not waste, or just be sure you can take it home or give it to someone. The shrimp, the coconut rice, the crab fried rice and the khao soi (curry noodle dish) were our faves. All of them bursting with various flavors. The whole fish was tasty, had crispy skin, but I'm not one for picking out small bones. The chicken wings were huge - I wish they were Wingdings so we could have more skin and less meat, but some, or maybe most, might appreciate the meatier wing size. This place was great. I highly recommend trying it as a casual, fun place to dine. The music was also a vibe.

I was such a fan of this place - service is phenomenal, somehow it's not too crowded where you're waiting for a table / need a res but it's still lively, and the food slapped. You can get the $50 family meal (which seems to be a great deal) but we opted to order a la carte. - Chili pan mee: this is a dry noodle and since it said ramen noodle, I was expecting the cheap instant ramen but instead these noodles were much better quality and tasty. This reminded me flavor-wise of many southeast asian / Singaporean noodles and I loved the little fried anchovies. Alternatively, my boyfriend described it as similar to a pasta ragu sauce. - Sizzling sisig: make sure to squeeze all of the lime! this does have pig ear with some cartilage in case you're not into that. However, I would totally recommend. None of the flavors are too strong, meat is well seasoned, and it comes out hot with a raw egg. - The coconut rice: so good that my boyfriend and I wanted more. It comes with the meat plate. I would get this over jasmine.

I bookmarked Pig and Khao on Yelp about a year or so ago because I saw it on GMA I think. I mean, what a clever name! And also, I love noodles, and rarely get a chance to enjoy Filipino food. Now that I finally made it there, im mad it took me so long! Def on my faves list. The vibe is funky: colorful and culture infused decor, old school hip hop in the background, multiracial/ethnic and fun and friendly staff, fast paced but not chaotic energy. We were flattered when our server (one of the twins!) told us that we matched their vibe. I guess our excitement and enthusiasm about the whole experience was clearly evident. We truly felt special from the service we received from the staff. And the food? Oh come on! Bring me more! Don't stop! Every morsel was delectable. I HIGHLY recommend the family meal. For two people we got two small plates, a noodle dish, a choice of jasmine or coconut rice, and a meat/fish entree plus a choice of Ube soft serve or piggy back shots. Great value, plus variety for the greedier palates like ours. Servings are ample, so we boxed up half our meal for home. Can't WAIT to return (and after 8pm since we're told the vibe amps up a notch or two then). Thanks Pig and Khao friends for treating us so swell!

The original LES location closed, but this one still hits. Great for a casual dinner with friends or a date. Go family-style--trust me, you'll want to try a few things. And the sizzling sisig? Non-negotiable. Best thing on the menu.

Last night we didn't just have a meal at Pig and Khao, we had an experience and not just any experience. We had an amazing experience that was filled with the most delicious, uniquely crafted food and the most dedicated, accommodating and fun staff I ever encountered. When we arrived we were greeted by Ray's big smile. Throughout the evening, Matthew, Michael and many others made sure we had everything we needed and more. The cocktails were unique and beautiful and delicious. Now on to the food, amazing. We had ingredients and flavors we never tasted before and it was an explosion in our mouths. We opted for the 3-4 family meal (there were 4 of us) and the food just kept coming out. From the whipped tofu spread with roti to the decadent desserts each dish surpassed the last one. The pork belly was cooked perfectly, crispy skin, tender pork and the sauce I could drink on its own. The Khao Soy noodles in the red curry sauce was a dish you didn't want to stop eating, but we had to save room for everything else. The crab fried rice had an abundance of succulent crab. The fried whole fish, holy "Khao", was the best dish. Crispy outside, tender fish, basil Thai sauce was so flavorful. It was the last dish that came out but we managed to finish it. We did have some leftovers so I'm excited to have an amazing lunch today. The vibe of the restaurant is exciting, everyone is happy to be there including diners and staff. We will be talking about our meal for years to come. I can't wait to go back.

The breakfast sandwich with garlic rice

An excellent find! we were going to another place this past Saturday for a bite, but they were closed. As we were on our way to the upper west side while in the car I looked ahead for spots that were highly rated but not busy. Pig and Khao came up, so we went. We walked in and I was happy, for us, that it wasn't busy at the moment. We got spots at the bar, which paid off right away. The server there had our waters and menus over immediately. Being a breakfast sandwich guy, and they had one, I jumped on that. They let me sub in the garlic rice, which the bartender recommended. Meanwhile he made a Bloody Mary that had its own Vietnamese spice. After the first taste i was diggen it. The sandwich was fantastic. Too spicey for my friends but I really liked it. And the garlic rice was solid as well. It wasn't our original plan for brunch, but I'm glad things worked out that we stopped in to Pig and Khao.

This review is long overdue. I've been eating at Pig and Khao for the past 7 years, going back to the original LES location, and I can honestly say I've loved just about every dish they've put out. Some of my early favorites still live rent-free in my mind: the choo chee fish, the Brussels sprouts, the Hainanese duck, the pork belly, and the coconut rice. Each dish is packed with flavor, bold, comforting, and consistently memorable. Pig and Khao has also been more than just a restaurant for me--it's been a place where I've celebrated so many of life's moments over the years. Birthdays, gatherings, casual dinners with friends... it's one of those spots that always delivers and always feels special. Seven years in and it's still a favorite. If you haven't been yet, you're missing

The food was to die for! Matthew was so accommodating and despite being so busy, he and the team Made time to continue refilling the unlimited coconut rice whenever we requested and were ready for the next round. We did the family meal for 3, and for the price I do have to say it was well worth it. Sisig and kalabasa were our favorite. Its such a vibe and great music for a neighborhood type resto on UWS. Would definitely come back. Ube soft serve at the end is so good. I suggest as a big group, take advantage of the family meal that comes with apps , meat/fish dish and noodles and rice, along with unlimited jasmine or coconut rice and dessert at the end.

This restaurant is an amazing find. We were seated at the bar per request and we ordered drinks to start off. The Duck L'orange and Make me a bicycle were very good and the bartenders are very skilled. Every dish we ordered was a hit. Even the ones we didn't order seemed great because you can tell by the aroma of the food as it passed you by. Each one of us had a different favorite, crab fried rice, Chili Pan Mee, Short Rib. We ordered the family meal style... and although it was pricey, we felt that it was worth the amount of time we spent there and the fact that we were stuffed by the time the meal was done. The restaurant itself is a bit small, but it kind of fits the vibe. We were served drinks and food at the bar so service was excellent for us.

This place was amazing! Starting off, we got the Pork Belly Adobo which had the crispiest skin but still the more was tender and juicy. The adobo flavor mixed in with the poached egg wasn't overpowering and complimented the pork so well. The Crab Fried Rice is made with bug chucks of crabmeat and the sauce on the side is the perfect amount of spicy and tangy. The Clay Pot Spare Ribs were superrrrr tender. The sauce was also so delicious and I kept finding myself going back and dipping the ribs in the coat it. Now, the Moo Ping Roti Plate was next level. I would go back just to eat this dish. A taco using roti was already super inviting and even though it was hard to eat, the juicy and sweetness of the grilled pineapple, the perfectly marinated pork, the crispness of the chicken and the freshness of the red onions, this "taco" was absolutely PERFECT. Right when I took a bite I told my fiancé that nothing else was going to beat this bite for the night. For drinks we got the Ghostbuster which I thought was super refreshing and my fiancé got the Duck L'Orange which did seem a bit intimidating but he really enjoyed it. Finally, we finished off with some Pineapple Soft Serve on the house and it was the perfect ending to the meal. I love having something sweet at the end of my meal so I was really happy. The service was great, all of the servers were super friendly and the vibes of the restaurant were nice too. It was definitely more on the modern side with the type of music and the dimmed lights which I thought went perfect with the meal.

Tight space but excellent food and good value. We sat at the bar where the seats were very close together, but it was ok and always fun being able to watch them work in the kitchen. It is a trendy, casual place. Looks like it belongs in the east village. Service was very good, the Pugh they were really busy trying to stay on top of every table. Food was excellent. The family meal is a great deal! You get a lot of food for the money. And it is really good food!! We got the wings and pork belly. Both were great though the pork belly was better. We also got the half hainanese duck which was amazing. And the duck fat rice it came with was awesome! And finally we got the chili pan me, noodles were great, crispy anchovies were awesome, and the pork was the best. The unlimited rice was also good, you get two flavors, and the small ice cream dessert was a nice touch at the end. Highly recommend.

Nice restaurant on the west side! Serves Filipino food and it didn't disappoint. Location: It is located around Amsterdam Avenue. Came early for brunch and it was not busy. The restaurant has a bar where I was seated and you can see how they cook your food. Service: not much interaction, i already know what to order ahead. Food: to be honest it was a hit and miss. I felt like it's not authentic Filipino food but it was good. SIZZLING SISIG: salty for my taste but it was good, good amount of pork and that lime makes a difference. Perfect for rice!! BEEF TAPA: the pork was marinated well. very tender and it comes with 2 eggs!! And that dipping sauce is divine!! Should include rice already because that is the typical TAPSILOG but you have to buy the rice separately. GARLIC RICE: rice was cooked properly! Soft and garlic bits is good. Price rating: 8/10. Yeah i think everything is pricey right now. Definitely will come back to try other food on their menu. But definitely try the tapa!

The pacing of the meal for the quantity of food received seemed very rushed, and we didn't really have a chance to relax and enjoy any of the courses. However, the quality of the experience was a complete disaster particularly for the price. Clearly, the packed restaurant would disagree, but for the four of us anyway, we would not return. It started with the check in process at what felt like a long hotel front desk with multiple, self important hosts and hostesses overseeing your entrance to the cavernous bar/waiting area. One problem is the noise is so deafening that you can't really hear what they say to you but we check in a few minutes early and waited obediently in the bar area chatting. After about 30 minutes (15 after our reservation time), and watching numerous parties large and small who arrived after us be seated by the hostesses wandering through the dimly lit space who peer quizzically and ask your name, my husband went to ask for an update. (We joked that those vibrating lighted buzzers alerting when your table was ready would have been super helpful, but it was amusing to watch while we waited). It was clear they somehow lost track of us as she had him repeatedly spell our (not unusual) name. Anyway, after that, within 10 minutes after that we were taken downstairs to our seats (but not before standing awkwardly in the large dining area near packed tables waiting while our table was cleaned). Server with a heavy accent was kind and mostly helpful so none of this is on him. The busser who managed to spill half a pitcher of cold water on my husband's back, soaking his shirt and jacket and barely apologizing, is a whole other story. We managed to get a glass of his mediocre Cabernet comped for the experience. If I sound annoyed, I guess I still am. I had high hopes for a fun and tasty experience in a cool part of the city and it just wasn't.

Service (5/5): We were able to get someone's attention to order and we were refilled on water often. The food was organized by appetizers and entrees that arrive all at the same time. The wait between ordering and food felt reasonable to short. The waiter also specified that certain dishes quantity (i.e. potstickers) could be increased to accommodate our party size for an extra cost. Food (5/5): TLDR; every dish was honestly SO good; I was surprised and will rank the items by 'must get' to skippable: Short Rib Bao Bun (3 pc): The short rib was so tender and flavorful. The bao bun was soft. The sauce was thick and worked well with the short rib. Pork Potstickers (5 pc): I preferred this over the lobster and scallion dumplings. The exterior skin is pan-fried with a nice glaze, hint of truffle. The bite was umami from the creaminess of the Parmigiano Reggiano. Chicken Satay (3 pc): The 3 pieces of chicken were relatively large, very tender, seasoned well. They were well complemented with the peanut sauce that is worth keeping to dip into other things! Don't sleep on the side of spicy cucumber salad, which was so well balanced in tartness and flavor. Pad Thai: This is one of the best Pad Thai I've ever had! The flavors are bursting, with a balance of sweetness, nuttiness from the peanuts, and tartness from a squeeze of lime. Peking Duck for 2: This dish is definitely more than enough for our party of 6 and appeared to be a half serving of the whole duck. The duck pieces are pre-cut for us to self-assemble into the wraps (not the usual bao bun but like thin tortilla wraps). I think I counted 8 wraps? Triple Pork Fried Rice: The rice has a lot of depth and generous chunks of pork. The rice is thicker than regular jasmine with a more chew which I liked. Dragon Tail Spare Ribs: Although this has a nice flavor, handling with your fingers makes them super sticky for your whole dining experience. The restaurant should give out wet towelettes if this dish is ordered!! Meat was tender and easy to chomp off the bone. Tuna Tartare: A small quarter-sized tartare dollop is served atop a small cube bread. The fish was fresh, presentation was beautiful. Was hoping for more tartare for the price point but it was very good. Overall, the dish was not filling so would skip if the party is hungry. Lobster and Scallop Dumplings: Great flavor with reasonable chunks of meat inside. Just preferred the potstickers a lot more! Bok Choy: Pieces were chopped in half and cooked with a nice crunch. Topped with something that gave it more texture. The garlicy taste was forward (in a good way). Rainbow Roll: While it was fresh and the individual pieces were large in portion, this felt like any other sushi roll. Skip this! Side of White Rice is $9?! That's theft and is skippable The amount of food ordered was probably a little more than what we needed but glad we ordered as many as we did.

Personally, I felt it was not the most respectful placement. Overall, I still enjoyed the experience and would love to come back again to see the beautiful giant Buddha.

We ordered a lot of dishes including a whole fish.. all the classic Malaysian dishes and everything was fresh and definitely tastes like home. Wasn't too big a fan of their assam laksa (lacked a bit of flavour) but everything else was good. Staff were also really accommodating for all the kids and gave us the room in the back so we had a semi private area away from the other patrons. Usually come here during Chinese New Year for their Yee Sang but I think you just have to call to confirm they have it every year. It's a great place to get together with friends and family !

While the Roti Canei used to have full flavors of coconut milk, lemongrass and generous spices, the dish is now bland and boring, so much so that we did not finish it The satay tofu sauce was completely devoid of flavor and a weird thick gloopy texture. If this was the first time that happened, I would not be writing this, however this is the 2nd time and the lack of flavor was also an issue

My girlfriend and I visited Tasty Junction for an early dinner one Saturday. They weren't too busy…read moreso it was easy to find a table for 2. Once you sit down you scan a QR Code to order your food and drinks. I was pretty hungry that day so we ended up ordering a ton of food. The drinks were pretty good and they were served in Le Creuset mugs. Not the biggest deal, but I can appreciate some nice drinkware. The bowl of Kimchi Fried rice came out first. It was a generous portion and the rice was cooked well, but I feel like it could've used some more kimchi. The eggs on top were cooked perfectly and added good texture to the dish. The next dish to come out was the HK French toast. The bread was nice and fluffy which paired well with a nice generous drizzle of condensed milk. I enjoyed this a lot. We also ordered scallion pancake, pork barbecue, and bossam baos. These were ok, I would probably pass on a return visit. I felt like the meat in the baos was a little tough though they did have decent flavor. The last entree was the smoked salmon and avocado croissant; I really enjoyed this. It had a generous helping of smoked salmon and avocado as well. The saltiness of the salmon paired well with the creamy and fatty avocado. The croissant was also nice and flaky. It was also served with a house salad which had a nice drizzle of dressing on it too. For dessert we ordered a Black Sesame Souffle Pancake. This was SO good. A few months ago I visited a place in Princeton that specialized in these Japanese-style pancakes and Tasty Junction's version was so much more enjoyable. I loved that it was served with a healthy scoop of ice cream. The pancake was airy and had a bounce to it. Each bite was so good and made even better with the ice cream. I'd definitely come back just for the pancakes. All in all Tasty Junction is a great spot tucked away in Glen Rock

The spring salad was delicious, and the chicken lettuce cups were amazing -- definitely a standout. The rock shrimp was also delicious, and both the fried rice and lo mein were very good. I wasn't a big fan of the fried dumplings; they didn't have much flavor in my opinion. I also ordered the filet mignon -- it looked more well-done when it came out, but it was actually cooked perfectly medium to medium-plus. Overall, a great experience with a few highlights and only a small miss.

I loved the decor, lighting, furniture, and music. It's very spacious, and I really liked that they have separate areas for dining, large groups, and if you want do hookah. Our server was great and tried to accommodate as best as he could. We were very disappointed with the food. I was bummed they were out of the oxtail eggrolls. The items we ordered lacked flavor and just didn't hit. We ordered the chicken satay, the peanut sauce was a bit too thick and in our opinion didn't compliment the chicken and the chicken tasted pretty greasy. I ordered the shrimp dumplings and really enjoyed those. I also ordered the sea bass. It was a bit bland and the rice that was served on the side was hard. My cousin enjoyed the spice kung pao chicken. For drinks, we ordered the sidecar and lychee martini. I thought my drink was pretty good. If I'm ever in the area again, I think I would try it again just to see if I didn't choose the right options.
