Nice little neighborhood spot on Drew Campground Rd. It's always busy which is a good sign. We went on a Monday night and they had Music Trivia Bingo. Lots of families were there. Service was pretty good, but the staff seemed a bit stretched thin. My sandwich, the Prosciutto Panuozzo, was HUGE and I ended up bringing half home and had it for lunch the next day. I got the chips as my side. The sandwich had a very generous amount of prosciutto which I really appreciated. We will definitely be back again soon! read more

We were looking for great pizza, and I'm happy to report that Pies on Post has fantastic food! They offer many different toppings, but all are Neapolitan style pizza. They have a huge menu with basically any food that you could desire, but man, the pizza was amazing! We were lucky enough to catch the end of a live performance, but the interior is rustic and inviting. Our waitress was nice, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend stopping by (or carrying out) for some great pizza. read more

We really wanted to like this place since we live close . My wife and I tried it three times when it first opened a few years ago, but each time the pizza had a completely burnt bottom. After that, we stopped going. Recently, we decided to give it another chance, hoping things had improved. Unfortunately, nothing has changed -- the entire bottom of our pizza was black again. It's disappointing that after all this time, they still haven't figured out how to properly bake their wood-fired pizza. We've never had this issue at Campania or Antico in Alpharetta, which consistently serve excellent pizza from similar ovens. We really love the food from Pies on Post. We always do takeout and have tried several of the specialty pizzas, sandwiches, sides, etc. The pizza with prosciutto and arugula is a favorite, and just this week we tried the Tartufo with cremini mushrooms, roasted garlic and truffle oil -- OH MY GOODNESS! This is a cool little hang out spot. The service has always been on point. I recommended the following yummy items because we tried them and we continue to go back for more! The margarita Pizza is a must, the mozzarella sticks are perfect not greasy, tasty and you won't feel guilty eating them, the smash burger with chips are my husband's favorite burger in town, and the chicken Cobb salad with Gorgonzola dressing is his weekly addiction! The best pizza in town! The place is cozy and centers around a wood fire oven. You can sit at the bar or at a table. Their specialty pizzas are inventive, or you can make your own. The crust is thin and crispy. My favorite is the Sorrento. The meat is well spiced and I love the roasted garlic. We've also had most of their apps. The Red Pepper Bruschetta and Baked Feta are my favorites, great flavors and textures. The only one we were disappointed in was the meatballs, it was a very strange texture, almost too mushy and the sauce was a little bland. The cherry on top is Sunday...BRUNCH! Great selection of breakfast options and a mimosa flight with four flavors. They also have daily specials (1/2 price bottles of wine on Thursday...what!?!) and lots of entertainment (bands/trivia/karaoke). The gluten free crusts are standard, but there is no help for really avoiding cross contamination. I went with a Cobb Salad because the crusts have tapioca starch. The presentation was beautiful. Crumbled bacon, Gorgonzola, hard boiled eggs, two chicken breast on top of sliced steak. The top piece of grilled chicken was excellent. The steak was raw. (!) As in seared and raw and cold on the inside. Not warm pink, but cold, red, and gel like. It was as already sliced, meaning the person in the kitchen fully didn't notice. I reported it and decide to work around it. I go the second piece of grilled chicken and cut it up, I questioned two cuts but figured it was because I was slicing it on salad greens. Nope, the chicken was pink, gooey, and uncooked. Again, pre-sliced in big portions. I sent it all back. I asked the young girl, blonde/brown with nose ring if she informed someone and she said the manager wasn't working so she'd text him about it. read more

I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich that was not edible. Two reasons: 1. Have you ever ordered a hamburger that was just so thick that it looked great, but was just a mess to eat? That is this sandwich, though it did not "look" great. The chicken did not fit in the bread, it was just crammed in the bread and was not pretty or easy to eat. 2. We came on a Saturday around 1 pm. It was pretty crowded, but we didn't wait but a few minutes for a table. The place is much smaller than I expected, so I can't imagine bringing karaoke or other events without it being too loud. The place was a little cold, so I had to grab a jacket. Brandy was our server & bartender. They have a full bar so she was willing to make me an alter drunk than was was on the menu. She was great!! There's no shortage of pizzerias in the area but few stand out. This place is a new, notable exception to the bevy of joints slinging pies. While primarily wood-fired pizza is the star attraction to this place, there is a range of unexpected finds such as an adult Lunchable aka charcuterie, crab cakes, and a smashburger. The bar is fully stocked if you need a cocktail fix. Thursday sports half-off bottles of wine which, from what the server mentioned, draws quite a crowd. They don't accept reservations here, which is a bit disappointing and from appearance a necessary feature as the space is small and seating is limited. We arrived on Friday @ 6:30 to standing room only and a 20-minute wait which stretched into 30-40. The food was good. I got three appetizers. When I got my bill they charged a $1.30 convenience fee. And I paid cash. Also, I did not get any change back. When I asked about it, the individual said oh we only deal in dollars. What a crock! I ordered a glass of wine. The guy behind the bar was on the phone for over 10 minutes. He then came over and said do you still want your Merlot? I said no. On the positive side, the calamari was good. On the negative side, the veal meatballs was not. Did not eat the wings. We tried the: -Calamari - not cooked all the way ,hard calamari, breading not completely cooked golden brown and 0 flavor 0. -Panini pesto chicken - 0 pesto. 0 seasoning like none, hard chicken (don't believe it was cooked completely) and very thin -Fries: also not completely cooked and had no flavor. -Sweet tea: was really just brown sugar water with mango flavor. - Cheese pizza, not enough sauce,very thin crust and no flavor. And we're backkkkk!!!! Round 2!!!! We enjoyed a pair of nice cocktails, thanks to Daneca's talent, then settled into a beautiful Gotas de Mar, Rias Baixas Albariño for the meal. For those who appreciate a white wine, the Spanish Albariño white grape varietal is seldom if ever offered in Forsyth County. If you like Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, or a fuller bodied Sauvignon Blanc, this is a must-try! Well-balanced with citrus, apple, a titch of pineapple, no presence of heavy oak or wood, good smooth mouth-feel with a nice afterglow. Started off with a Roman (Caesar) Salad topped with Salmon. The romaine was fresh and crisp, tossed in a pleasing dressing, shaved parm (which I love), and handcrafted light airy seasoned croutons. The salmon was perfection; very tender, not at all dry, lightly seasoned, and not salty, with a little crisp at the edges. Dear hubby enjoyed the hot Italian Sausage (choice of hot or mild) and Peppers panini with mac'n cheese. No photo because I didn't move fast enough. LOl! He was verryy happy with it. Confession: I hadn't eaten all day and still needed a little bite of something-something, so I ordered a 10" Bambini Pepperoni Pizza. The idea of leftovers for our lunch tomorrow made my heart sing. And oh my goodness! This is good for the babies *and* the mamas!! Well-covered with sauce and cheese, dotted with old world pepperoni (Neapolitan style, not totally covered like American style), but the flavor, tastiness and airiness of the crust, blistering and blackening of the edges were all on point for a Neapolitan pizza. Service was also on point. We enjoyed a visiting with Daneca and with business partner Bradford who was here on our last visit. They have already resolved some issues noted during the last visit. Pies on Post has amazing pizzas. That alone is worth the trip here. But we also love the Brussels sprout appetizer and the salads are good. The staff all seems pretty knowledgeable and nice. They also seem to be having fun at their job-which is something of a rarity in food service. The wine and beer selections are decent too. This was our first time at Pies on Post located off Post Road in the strip center behind MacDonald's restaurant. We were greeted and seated quickly. We (my wife, granddaughter and me) were the only customers in the dinning room on this Friday evening around 5:00 p.m. There was another couple seated at the bar. There seemed to be plenty of service staff and two people baking pizzas. We first asked that our drinks come with extra ice. My wife and I each had 4 small cubes in our soft drinks. I called the server over and asked for a glass of ice for which she went and got us two full glasses of ice. The pizza was served pretty quick. I personally liked the thin crust and the toppings (pepperoni, mushroom and fried onions). My wife was not pleased as she believes the pizza dough was not made fresh and seemed dry. Additionally, she felt the pizza was not served piping hot. I can't speak to why the pizza was not very hot given we were the only customers in the dinning room. As the pizza was served the server asked if we needed anything else and I replied extra napkins. She brought 5 black cocktail napkins which was not up to our task. Our server also did not return to check on us. She only came at the end of our meal to present the check. So, our first time at Pies on Post was a disappointment and we most likely will not return. Bottom line the pizza was so so and the service was also so so. There are many restaurants still experiencing staff shortages due to COVID which increases wait time that is to be expected. This did not seem to be the case with Pies on Post. I believe their primary issue is a lack of management in directing employees and some quality control. We love Pies. Tonight. No. Unfortunately, we got there and almost immediately karaoke started. Hey, I love karaoke. But, in that size space, I'd say this needs to be rethought. We couldn't have a conversation. At all. I don't say that lightly. I'm a singer and I seriously am disappointed with how the evening panned out. We arrived at 8:15. We left at 8:45. Because we had ordered drinks and had to wait for the food to be cooked. Here's the good part. Abbey. She was awesome!! Thank you, Abbey, for being so sweet. I'm sorry we left so quickly, and that others before us took advantage of your sweet soul. Our drinks came quickly. My lemon drop was as I ordered - just a touch of sweetness. My husband's smoked old fashioned was a complete let down tonight. So, just a hint for the bartender. We'll be back. But, not on a Friday night. Kids were not pleased. The food here is delicious. Our server Tiffany was delightful, professional and attentive. We had two issues- if you swap a side, they do not reduce the price of the orher side by the value of the first. I wanted brussel sprouts and no fries. They were going to upcharge me the full $8.00 even though I wasn't getting the fries. And then the bill came and there is a Convenience charge of 4% added automatically and there is no indication what it is for. The manager, Denise, explained that it is to cover credit card charges and she removes it if you pay cash. Nowhere did it clearly state that. Oh and by the way- they no longer so the two appetizers for the price of one on Fridays. Will have to think about returning. read more

Do you like cheese pizza that has no taste, barely any sauce, and is undercooked? Then Pies on Post is your place! We did a phone ahead order for two pies, a cheese pizza and their Diavola speciality pizza. First, when arriving to pick up, 5pm on a Thursday, the staff seemed completely overwhelmed yet there we no customers eating in the restaurant and only 2 patrons at the bar. They had me stand in the middle of the restaurant to wait for my pizza order while they scrambled to figure out which pies were mine. When the pizzas were ready, they handed them to me and I had to remind them that I still needed to pay. Again, this is with zero customers in the store. What is it like on a busy Friday night? Got the pizza home and it was a gooey mess. Had to pop them in our oven to get them how we like. The cheese pizza had nearly no taste. Our kids liked it but I would compare it to frozen pizza you get at Kroger. The speciality pizza, Diavola, on the menu sounds like a spicy itialian delight but their end product is a bunch of sliced bell pepper on a a pizza with sausage. Not spicy and a big let down. They did just open so likely still working out the kinks on things but if this is their idea of pizza, I'll stick to Cafe Antico, or Marie's Italian Deli. read more

Pies on Post is fantastic! I took my family there on Sunday afternoon and we were not disappointed. Chef Joe, one of the owners, welcomed us and his staff took great care of us. My boys ordered from the kids menu but my wife and I were delighted by the Baked Feta appetizer to start but then came the real show stoppers! We ordered the Margarita pizza and the Three Little Pigs sandwich. See for yourself below but the sandwich is top shelf and the flavor is out of this world. Prosciutto, bacon & pork belly on one sandwich! The pizza was perfect. You can easily tell the ingredients are fresh and the pie is handmade. You will not be disappointed.
