Absolutely terrible experience with Pierson Mechanical. The office staff was extremely rude, and it was clear the owner has no idea what their technicians are actually doing in the field. They misrepresented what was needed, failed to complete the job, and then claimed they would return to finish it--only to later demand an additional $510. The service was already covered through my home warranty, yet they still tried to charge extra. When the technician initially came out, he arrived with an insufficient amount of refrigerant and said he "ran out" and needed to order more. The next day, the office called not to fix the issue, but to request more money to come back--completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, when I asked basic questions for clarification, the intake representative (who identified herself as the owner's daughter) became defensive and rude, accusing me of "pushing back" when I was simply trying to understand the situation. I ended up getting a second opinion from another HVAC company, and they confirmed the leak was minor, easy to fix, and covered under the same warranty--with no additional charges, including a full refrigerant top-off. This company is dishonest and unprofessional. I strongly recommend avoiding them and always getting a second opinion. read more

I had a very frustrating and disappointing experience with Pierson Mechanical. Pierson Mechanical was assigned to repair my water heater by my home warranty company. The entire process from start to finish took 54 days. I had no running water for 19 days during this time due to my thermal expansion tank and water heater leaking. No one answers the phone, scheduling is a nightmare, and customer service is virtually nonexistent. The most disappointing part happened on the day of the installation. No one showed up during the scheduled appointment window, and I never received a phone call or any notification that they were running late. When I called to find out what was going on, I was told my appointment had somehow "fallen off the schedule" and that someone should be able to come out in a couple of hours. To make matters worse, Craton Pierson (the owner) called me four hours after the scheduled appointment time and informed me that the propane water heater I had ordered wouldn't be able to be installed but he could install an electric water heater instead or I could replace it myself. When I asked questions and voiced my frustration, he was rude and dismissive. The lack of communication, follow-through, customer service and professionalism made an already lengthy process even more frustrating. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience. If you value reliable scheduling, timely communication, and good customer service, you may want to look elsewhere. If I could give Pierson Mechanical zero stars, I would. read more

On April 29, 2026, I had Pierson Mechanical come to my home to inspect my ductwork through my home warranty company, American Home Shield. However, the ductwork inspection was never actually completed. The technician who came to my home was polite and professional in demeanor, but he informed me that they did not have the proper equipment needed to inspect the ductwork. While he was still at my home, I contacted American Home Shield to explain the situation. I was informed that the technician should submit a request for a third-party company to perform the ductwork inspection since Pierson Mechanical could not complete it themselves. The technician then asked if he could inspect my air conditioning unit instead. I explained that I had already had an AC tune-up completed the week before, but agreed to let him look at it if he wanted to. I made it very clear that my primary concern and the purpose of the service call was the ductwork inspection. The technician briefly looked into the attic opening but never attempted to enter the attic or inspect the ductwork. He stated that he would submit the request for a third-party inspection. Afterward, I received an email instructing me to contact American Home Shield. I was then told that the service request had been closed because I supposedly needed to "create access" to the attic. This statement was false. The technician never attempted to enter the attic, and my attic is a standard residential attic with insulation and no floorboards, which is common. Both my husband and I have accessed the attic ourselves without issue. In addition, before the appointment even took place, I specifically informed Pierson Mechanical that the attic did not have floorboards. I was told that this was not a problem and that they work in attics like this regularly. Despite never completing the requested ductwork inspection and not being properly equipped to perform the service, the company still closed the claim and charged both me and my home warranty company. I attempted multiple times to contact the company to discuss why the request was closed and why the agreed-upon next steps were not followed, but my calls were ignored and I did not receive any return communication. I believe this situation was handled dishonestly and unprofessionally. The company accepted payment for a service they were unable and unwilling to perform, then provided inaccurate information to justify closing the claim. read more

My AC quit on me. I called for another company's technician and he said I needed a new air conditioner. Pierson Mechanical came out to give me a second opinion. Their technician replaced a transformer and had cold air again within an hour for a tiny fraction of the cost of a new unit. read more

If your home warranty company has these people listed for HVAC issues call and ask for someone else. At this point it has been 2 and a 1/2 weeks since I heard the words "let me see if I can get a part and I'll call you" my home warranty has reached out to them several times and they never responded. Was also told that " I could spend 8 hours out here trying to figure out what's going on but I have other jobs to do". Everything "looked fine". Ended up calling a different company myself and had it figured out in about 10 minutes....if he had actually looked at things he would've seen that the circuit board was fried! Which the installing company of my not even 2 year old unit didn't install the surge protector correctly come to find out. so I have been waiting for 2 and a 1/2 weeks for my unit to be fixed. And on top of that they marked the job "complete" with my home warranty company. I hope they don't pay them a dime. Sounds like if they can't figure out the problem or whatever it's a waste of their time and it's on to the next. read more

My gas furnace stopped. They came out and "fixed" it. When I turned it on it sounded like a freight train in the attic. Then it stopped turning on again. They came out again and "fixed" it and it worked for 2 days. Now it does not turn on again! The home was built in 2007 and it has never been a problem before. read more

I live in Buckingham in a 2 level home, where the bottom floor bedroom has one wall with two sliding glass doors that open up to a large cement patio, and you walk out to an inground pool, and a gorgeous view of the lake. The other wall has two large 6 x 6 windows. None of these are dual pane windows nor do they support any insulated covers as I don't want to obstruct the view. The thermostat on my electric furnace went out overnight and I woke up to the next day to freezing temperatures and called my home warranty company for service & they had this company assigned to my home. Rebecca told me they were unable to come out to do anything for 14 days and would be here on February 11, when I expressed concern about freezing temperatures within my home in this February winter month, Rebecca said she had lived here in Kelseyville for many years and it's never been freezing temperatures inside of her home and therefore she knew for a fact that it was not freezing temperatures inside of my home and hung up. Not wanting to be without heat for 14 days in February in Lake County, I called the home warranty program and told them that it was freezing temperatures in the bottom bedroom of my home and I knew their policy was to locate another company if the waiting period for service was outside 10 days. They needed to call Rebecca to confirm she was unable and or unwilling to get to my home prior to 14 days into the month of February, and was told by Rebecca that it was 66° outside and the she didn't believe that it was freezing temperatures inside of my home and was not going to send somebody out earlier than 14 days into February winter weather. I explained to the home warranty person that she has five of my homes under warranty and that their company dropped to number three on the Forbes list in 2026 and that she should not try to guess the temperature inside of the bedroom of any of my five homes based on an incompetent disgruntled employee of a Heating company who has never been inside of my home, but instead follow the policy of our own company and find someone who will get to my home within 10 days or I am looking into the top two companies recommended by Forbes this week.... She located in another company who got to me the next morning at 9 AM and fixed it . There are several other posts here state that Rebecca was as disrespectful and condescending to them as well . I rarely post negative , however I wanted to remind everyone not to let people bully you, or put you down, or try to tell you that you are worthless in any way. Always stand up for yourself and for others other. Just be kind. This Kelseyville employee had no business acting in this way towards me, having never met me before and never been at home, but instead looking out her own window of her own Business to determine if the bedroom inside of my home on the bottom floor had freezing temperatures then to spread that incorrect information to another business with a specific intent to harm me in some former fashion! read more

Pierson was initially used through my home warranty company for an AC service. Ended up replacing my AC. When the new unit was replaced it failed on startup. Pierson went above and beyond to get it replaced as soon as they could. I will use them again whether it is through the home warranty or not. They are friendly, responsive, and perform exceptional work. read more

Pierson Mechanical was referred out by our home warranty company in early July 2025 for a non-functioning air conditioner. Long story short the variable speed blower motor had gone out. I do air conditioning repair and provieded all the potential part numbers. before anyone came out to "Diagnose the problem" I have played the home warranty company repair game in the past and am aware that the warrant company does have to approve off on certain repairs and said costs of repairs. When Ryan came out the first time to daignose the problem I informed him, that the fan motor is an electronic controlled motor and would require the exact motor for replacement. 16 pin controlled. Waited over a week for approval and the part to come in - came out to repair and... Motor wouldn't work. In the process of trying to get the cheaper repalacement motor to work - this in turn now made the control module non functional. Again more back and forth for approvals and weeks waiting in the middle of a Redding summer without A/C and multiple encounters of condescension from Rebecca in the office. Finally the control module came in and another appointment was scheduled. Control module repalced and still not functioning. Ryan then went to the parts house and retriieved and electronic control module motor, unbenounced to me at the time was only 5 pin controlled. Ryan replaced the motor and A/C was again working. More follow up phone calls with Rebecca relating she would need approval for the newer motor install from the Warranty company. Didn't care! Our A/C was working again. Now it comes time to turn on the heater... Does't come on! Climb in the attic and pull the heater panels and WTH? When Ryan installed the blower moter he cut and spliced wires to make the wrong motor work for the A/C to the point where now it will not funtion when calling for heat. I am now procurring the correct motor to re-wire and make the unit function as it was before Pierson "fixed" it. Pierson Mechanical may be a reputeable company when hired directly, however they clearly are not when it comes to completing warranty work. Worried about costs and trying to skimp and save instead of replacing with OEM equipment. Beware of Pierson Mechanical! read more

My father-in-law's AC quit working. We utilized his home warranty to request the repair. Pierson Mechanical was quick to schedule, accurately diagnosed the problem and had the warranty company order the parts. They did a great job of communicating with us through the supply chain issues and scheduling the installation. They were on time, friendly and were very informative. Craton came out in May to troubleshoot the system. The repair was going to require ordering a new part, and approval from the Home Warranty Company. Before he left though he was able to get the system to work for cooling only, so I would not be left without AC. His office manager, Rebecca, got me back to me within a few days to schedule a date to install the new part for July 7th. Rebecca, called yesterday July 6th to confirm the appointment. He came out today, July 7th, installed the new part, crawled into the attic to check the Air Handler was working properly, and helped us set up the Nest thermostat. I asked about some potential ducting work that I thought I needed. He agreed that I probably should seriously consider it. He indicated that I would be best served with another company that specializes in that type of work. I appreciate it when a company sticks to the type of work they do best. read more

Not a fan of this company. My home warranty company sent them out to look at my ducting that was damaged. The technician came out, took pictures, and said it was old and deteriorated, but on his report to our warranty company he wrote the ducting was under sized for our home. Writing that it was undersized voided our home warranty. I asked to look at the report he wrote and the pictures he took, but they refused to provide them. I then decided to move forward and pay for the repairs out of pocket and they said the job at my home would be too hard for them and they declined my business. I contacted a real HVAC company and they said the ducting was adequate for our system and was the standard for the time the ducting was installed. He also questioned how the technician could've concluded that our ducting was undersized, when he didn't actually look at the furnace or registers inside my home, he only viewed the ducting under my home. I would NOT recommend this company. read more

These guys are great don't waste your time with other companies around the area I had three other company's come out to fix a drain valve on my water heater all three were a waste of time and never fixed the problem they all capped off the valve and it still leaked , pierson came out did what they needed to do changed out the valve and now it's perfect no leaks , no cutting corners or band aid fixes I highly recommend pierson mechanical to anyone they will do it rite the first time . read more

My home warranty sent this company out. I will start with my only positive: The office staff did keep me informed and were polite, but I would not recommend them due to not being transparent about the details of pricing. I questioned part of my "not covered " pricing the answer was that $650 was for paperwork(2 applications) and the companies policy for mark up on the Title 24 inspection? Maybe this iscorrect but thag was the answer given..... I called the company used for this inspection and the cost is 300/400 tops.... When I asked for a report with a breakdown of the needed repair the response back was, "This is our pricing and if I am unhappy with this I can contact my warranty company" I opted for the cash out and got a second opinion and am still saving money on RETAIL pricing. $650 for paperwork and the other quoted non covered part for $650 is actually only costing me $300.....so....look and question your charges. read more

Our central AC went out on our home, and of course the temperatures are hovering at 1:10 outside. We contacted our home warranty company who initially sent out another local AC provider that told us basically don't close any of the vents in the house and change the filter more often and we wouldn't have the issue again. Shortly after they left, the AC was not working again and I contacted them To tell them and they told me it would be three weeks before they could come back out. So the home warranty company then contacted Pierson mechanical who was able to come out in eight days. The gentleman that came was extremely professional and appeared very knowledgeable. He crawled up into the attic, which the other repairman did not and found that there was a computer board or some thing that had gone bad and he replaced it. As he was leaving, he told me if we had any further issues to call them directly and they would be out the same day. HIGHLY recommend this company! Oh, and I noticed their company says they are in Lakeport, but we are in Redding and he said that it's a family business and at least one of them lives here as well, so they are doing both areas. I'll try to keep this short, however In reality I won't be able to. Craton and Stan replaced my A/C condensing unit, evaporator coil and hot water heater. Their work was well thought out and methodical. They were constantly looking ahead and planning for the next step. Their end result was perfection. I am incredibly pleased with the attentiveness of their field staff and the constant communication from their office employees. It can be stressful allowing people in your home, however that was not the case for us. Stan was great with our dog and even played fetch for a few minutes while he pulled down our A/C system. I couldn't be happier with all aspects of their work. They even patched up some drywall that was missing behind my old A/C evaporator coil. Definitely a great company with quality technicians! We have been struggling with HVAC problems since completing a renovation in 2015. Long story short, after a series of expensive fixes, Pierson came out throuhg our home warranty company. They proposed a two-stage repair--if the first stage wasn't adequate--it involved creating a second return and widening one under sized duct--then we'd move to the second stage--increasing the size of other ducts. Because we'd been burned so many times, I also had two other HVAC companies evaluate the problems: one wanted to rip out the whole system and start again and the other (the company responsible for the original problem) never sent the promised proposal. Stan at Pierson completed phase one and it's a 100+ degree weekend and the temperature in every room of our house is cool and consistent. No need to pay more money for phase 2 and no need to ever hire any other HVAC company then Pierson ever again! read more

Ryan came from Lakeport all the way to Santa Rosa to fix our heater. In the coldest part of the winter our heater stopped working. It would sound like it was turning on, but not engaging. Ryan was great and very knowledgeable. He explained to my husband what cause this issue and was up in the attic educating us on the problem. This company is extremely reasonably priced. No one can match their prices. Also their quote for an air conditioner was the best - no one came close. Our house was built without an air conditioner so we will be contacting them at the end of the year to install. Everyone in Sonoma County should use them for installs, repairs and maintenance. When are heat pump went out this winter and later on this summer our air conditioner (same unit). Our Home Warrenty company provided Pierson Mechanical to come out and service our system. He was prompt, knew exactly what was wrong with our system, (both times), made the repairs quickly. Even if I have to bring out someone to service my system and pay out of my own pocket, I would contract to Pierson Mechanical. read more
