Terrible experience this time and won't call Stanley Steemer of Santa Rosa again. Not sure if they've changed hands or what. I have travertine tile in kitchen and some thoroughfares in house. SS has cleaned before and did a good job. The current situation with the travertine is that there has been a clear coat applied along with Rejuvator shine coat and the job did not turn out well. The appt was booked through SS's call center but subsequent call to owner, Lisa, who took notes on my problem and exactly what I needed for the tile. She assured me that she would make sure her crew came loaded up with whatever they might need to tackle the job. We agreed we would begin w/ a 2x2 square and if I approved, they would continue with the job. In addition, I booked a living room hardwood floor and tile shower. When the workers arrived, they seemed very nice and we went over the jobs in detail, the travertine being the most challenging job, of course. I'd taken everything I could up and off floors/out of showers, etc., so the job would be easier for these guys. They felt the job was within their scope and the tile would be stripped and cleaned. Great! I told them that with the exception of a couple of pieces, I'd moved everything. One of them picked up an item and moved it into a bedroom as if they were to begin work. That's when the bomb dropped and I was told they could do my hardwood but not the tile because they didn't have the materials in their van. I was surprised and told them that I'd had an at-length conversation with their local office (owner, Lisa) and what her ideas were. But this guy tells me that he was told nothing and that the communication between them and the office was poor. So I said that I'd call the office and maybe we could get this worked out. As I dialed, the lead guy - I'm thinking Eric was the name - waved his other guy towards him and headed out my front door, walking fast. I called out, "Aren't you going to wait until I can talk with someone from you office?" He said nothing but kept walking, picking up speed. His co-worker turned to me and told me, "Sorry Ma'am" - he hoped I have a nice day. The lead guy walked out without his tester kit. By then I had Dwayne on the phone - he's been at my home before. Dwayne pled not guilty and that he wasn't "Involved." He said he didn't know what Lisa had told me. I told him he is "involved" because he's answering the office phone and explained to him what I'd done in preparation for SS's arrival and that this was not fair at all. There was more confusion coming from his mouth and it was sad. He told me that when Lisa got in, he would see if he could get someone over to me today, but he didn't call. I finally called and cancelled a future estimate for other work and will not deal with them again. read more

Just got my carpets cleaned for the whole house and my stone patio got buffed and scrubbed. Juan and Richard did the cleaning and they did an amazing job! I'm so impressed. I'm not sure why there are some bad reviews. I've used Stanley Steamer for over 10 years and they've always done a great job. There are some stains on the carpet that is permanent discoloration and I know that those won't come off so no big deal. I will used them again and highly recommend them. I'm SUPER picky and they definitely are up to par with my standards of clean. read more

I was able to get an appointment with Stanley Steemer to clean carpets in a timely fashion. Sam did the work. He was personable yet professional. I especially like that he wore a mask as he was cleaning the carpets of a friend who has multiple health issues. Upon arrival, I asked Sam if he had time to also clean a recliner. He was happy to do so. Sam offered additional services but did not push to up-sell. Both the carpets and the recliner looked amazing when he left. I felt bad to call them back because as the carpets dried there were areas that needed additional work. I was amazed by the response from the company. Never have I dealt with a company that truly exemplifies what Customer Service/satisfaction should be. They came right out and remedied the issue, in style! I rated one start because I couldn't choose zero, I hired this company because it has high ratings and great reviews but, I'm very disappointed with their services. I was leaving a 3 floor house with 4 stairs and I was charge $3 per step. The service was completed and so I came to the house the next day returning keys to the owner and to find out that they didn't clean the carpet right and also they didn't clean one of the main entrance stairs. I try reaching out to the manager for this issue. However, the person that answered the phone was rude and ask "what do you want me to do about it? we can't go back and clean it" and hang out. This pathetic excuse for a business is a complete waste of money. But more importantly, these douche bags will rob you of your valuable time and energy. Stanley Steemer is a scam - a lazy franchise whose only intention is to sell their services pretending they're customer service oriented and then show up to a prepaid appointment thinking they'll do a quick drive-by, half assed job and everything will be okay. I made the mistake of trusting the representatives of this company to do what they said they were going to do - "clean" my tile and grout. Very simple, I thought. And when I asked that they take the time to simply remove the dirt from my tile and grout, this simple request became outrageously blown out of proportion by Gina and her "manager" who supposedly was brought in to rectify the unfortunate situation, but only made worse by becoming defensive when I asked them to, once again, take the time necessary to do my project correctly and put some "elbow grease" into the situation. Gina was actually the biggest part of the problem - a confirmed shit stirrer. Gina's first excuse to my concerns was that my expectations of her business were "off kilter" with exactly what their company does. I then asked Gina if this was the case then why didn't she send someone out PRIOR to me confirming and paying for the appointment to tell me her company was a bunch of lazy crooks. All I was asking from the representatives who were supposedly sent to clean was to have the project completed correctly and with some integrity - and all she could do was tell me how the unfortunate situation was a product of my own false and high expectations. You're a joke, Gina. Do not let these crooks into your home. And Darryl F: if your company is so concerned with providing "great customer service" AFTER you've ripped off a pre-paying customer and they post a well-deserved 1-star Yelp review of your horrible company, you may just want to make some major adjustments to your business model. This is the 20th time I have used Stanley Steemer in my lifetime. I believe the third time I have used the Santa Rosa location. I love Stanley Steemer and think in general they are the best. Currently this time (Santa Rosa location) we were unable to make a mutually acceptable agreement upon their arrival and they had to leave because we could not make an agreement. First they wanted another $100.00 and we agreed. Then they wanted another $38.00 and we agreed. Then they wanted more and more. It was presented in a fashion that was nitpicking and piecemeal. First he went to my better half and upcharged twice then to me 3 times! It was way too expensive by the fifth upcharge. In reply to Darryl F message of - 10/23/2018: Hi - I have already been in contact with the location noted above (Santa Rosa). It was an unproductive experience. The problem is the online estimator gives a lump price only! There is no breakdown itemizing each item that is ordered. So when they arrived they claimed the estimate was lacking. So they tell you it was done wrong by you the customer. So the estimate I got online was $268 and they wanted (eventually in pieces over a period of 1/2 hour) $506. But they did not present me with an itemized quote or anything they just came back to us over and over and acted like they were surprised to discover new aspects to the job! They were first shown everything to be done but they were at our house for a half hour but never started because they kept "discovering" more charges were necessary. The guy mike they sent out stole stuff out of my house when he cleaned my carpets I put stuff in dresser before he got here. An closed jewelry box. When he left box was half way open. An stuff in dresser gone. Good thing had serial number of it . Had to call police. He hid stuff I screwed up calling office first. They were very efficient, neat and took good care of the furniture. The carpets all 2,000 sq. foot of them, look better than ever and no smell. None. I have had Stanley Steamer clean my carpets and sectional in the past and the job was pretty good. But today, Chris came out and spent a good deal of time making sure all areas and the sectional couch were cleaned as best as they could. However, there were two urine stains that were made by a visiting dog a few days before that did not come out, and even though I clearly remember asking to include the stairs they were not done. I called the 800 number and the receptionist refused to give me the number of the local office. She promised that I would get a call back within two business days which did not happen. Two professional/clean guys showed up in a brand new truck and got to cleaning our 3 area rugs and sofa. Nothing incredible just cleaner than before. I'm not sure if most people are expecting their stuff to be looking like new after one visit, but I was happy with the results. Guys were done in 45 minutes. The only thing that gripes me is the usual service window of between 11-2. Of course they didn't get there until 1pm. Totally in the allotted time, but I got stuff to do, maybe give people a heads up. Overall good service. read more

I called Stanley Steamer to clean our limestone tile after seeing an advertised special. They came unprepared and without the right equipment. Then recommended sealing the tile for an additional cost. After the sealant was applied, they left and I noticed leopard spots forming over all of the tile. After much discussion and many phone calls (and blaming me for agreeing to apply sealant to limestone tile), I had to schedule time out for them to come out to remove the sealant which came out on some parts, not others. I've used Stanley Steemer for the past 5 Years and I've never been disappointed, they are efficient, affordable and great customer service. I love that you can contact their 1800 number 24/7. This last time I had a large very plush 7x9 foot rug that my dog peed on and I thought it was a fibber because the smell was so bad. I called SS and i got an appointment for the next day. I think it was victor and someone else who came to clean my rug and my couch because I wanted it cleaned too. They did a fabulous job and were very thorough. However the next day I could still smell the urine coming in from the carpet and it was unbearable to keep inside. So I thought it was a goner. But they assured me that it just needed another treatment of the deodorizer, so they came back the next day and did another round of that and YES IT WORKED. They said sometimes it just takes a couple treatments. My rug is very plush and thick so i was soooo relieved it worked. Was extremely disappointed in them. So my dog had an accident on the carpet and along with shluff accumulated from the traffic the carpet gets we got our carpet cleaned. Carpet look nice after the cleaning job was done! Prior to moving the caret cleaning we moved all the furniture outside and put most of it upstairs. We left the downstairs completely bare with side doors open for a week to air the area out. After 3 days the carpet smelled worse off then we started with and after a week and a half we decided to call Stanley sterner back to come back and deodorize the dinning room. Girl I talked to over the phone was pleasant and said they'd come out and clean that area and deodorize for free. I was happy that they were compliant in fixing the problem. I asked if I could also have my upstairs carpet cleaned too and she said it was no problem and they would do it at the same time and just pay as I usually do after the work is done. Day was schedule and they gave us a time frame that was like 10am to 2pm. We waited all day, they didn't get here till it was about 4pm. I had these guys come out in Aug. to clean 4 rooms and & rug. There was some discrepancy in the work order and deal I was suppose to get, and they had to call in to make sure. That was a little stressful, but they said they honor it. Not sure if that's a ploy to make me think they are so nice to do an extra rug for free, though it was talked about when we set up the appt. I moved most if not all the furniture, and they never tried to stop me or help. They had to give me these plastic squares to put under my furniture to put it back so the furniture would not get wet. I had to do that too. I said I'm not sure I have enough, but they seemed in a hurry to leave, and they left early from their scheduled time frame of being at my house. They had to come back because they did not give me enough of those squares. Then, 2 of the rooms that they cleaned, which are hardly used at all had the stains resurfacing. I noticed it about 2 months after the job was done. I've lived at the same house same carpet for 14 years, and I have had other cleaning cos. come out and it lasts a year. Every year the stains come back and I have someone come and clean then again. This is the first time they came back after 2 months. I didn't get back to calling them a month after I noticed the stains. I talked to somebody at their corporate call center, and they told me they couldn't do anything, only 10-14 days after the cleaning could they come back out and do it again! I told him the story that it should last a year before they come back. He said sorry, I'd have to pay to have someone come out again and clean them! How awful! So with their reputable company, I'd have to pay to have them come out every 2 months to have the stains go away? That's ridiculous! I said I'd have to leave a bad review. Here I am! I think the "dry" carpet cleaning process must be superior than what Stanley is doing, or they did a shoddy job! Pissed! What a waste of $! read more

Anthony and Ray came out to my house to give me a quote and I had them clean my couch. I had gotten several quotes from many businesses around Sonoma county and they were the best price. They were very polite and helpful when discussing which services I needed. They got to work right away and the couch looks great. There were a few spots I saw that I wasn't pleased with and Anthony went right to his truck and scrubbed them clean by hand with a smile. He didn't make me feel like I was nagging or picky, he agreed that if I'm paying the money I should get what I pay for. We had our commercial carpet cleaned in Marin by Stanley Steamer of Sonoma, back in August. We have a high quality carpet that was left with to much water; it dried with ripples. We had to have it stretched by a carpet installer. This is the second time this occurred with this particular vendor and when asked to compensate us for the cost of having the carpet installer come to stretch the carpet, not only were they reluctant, but it took a month to receive a check that we were told "was in the mail" three weeks earlier. read more
