The location right in Danvers Square is super convenient too. Our family wanted to do something special for our Yai Yai, who is turning 90 in July. She has the most beautiful handwriting, so we decided to use her script saying "Love You More" for matching family tattoos. Peter (@Petermon.tattoo) was absolutely amazing. He coordinated and accommodated 8 family members in one day -- some getting simple script tattoos while helping others create custom designs incorporating Yai Yai's handwriting. The best part was when Yai Yai unexpectedly stopped by and decided she wanted a tattoo too! Peter happily tattooed her, making her his oldest customer ever. He was incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming to everyone, and he made Yai Yai feel so special. We had 3 generations of family tattooed together on the same day, and it became such a meaningful memory for all of us. We all had a blast. He was also very rude to my friend who got her tattoo at the same time. He made a comment about other tattoos she has, one of which is a quote, and said that "tattoos should be looked at, not read" which is uncalled for especially coming from a "tattoo artist" The final nail in the coffin is how busted my tattoo ended up being. What I thought would be a simple tattoo ended up being the worst decision I have ever made. I have other tattoos and have never bruised from them, but this one was bruised for weeks and concerned myself and my friends to the point where I considered going to the hospital to get it looked at because it was just not healing. He was very heavy handed with the needle as well. I know tattoos hurt but it felt as if this man was trying to tattoo my bone. After the tattoo finally healed the lines ended up being super blown out and uneven, and I am embarrassed that I have this thing on me for the rest of my life. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at ALL costs.

I already had two piercings with butterfly backs but no one mentioned there is a different kind of back now where you screw a microscopic post into a tiny hole. I had to take them out for an MRI and can't get them back in because I have paralysis in my thumbs and arthritis in my hands. I called to see if they could exchange them for the type I wanted because I can't use these and he got very defensive. He kept telling me he has a client with 4 fingers and only one hand so my disability shouldn't be a problem. If he can overcome his then surely I should overcome mine, he insisted. I felt like I was talking to a child. There was no apology for the miscommunication, no offer to try to reorder them or take them back or even issue some kind of credit. He just kept blaming me, saying I should have asked when I came in wearing butterflies and having no idea these others existed. The bottom line: They don't take an ounce of responsibility for anything and are incredibly rude to someone who spent hundreds of dollars on something she can't use. Telling me I am wrong about my disability and insisting I can pay them to teach me to do it was the icing on the cake. You don't tell a disabled person that their disability isn't real and they can do something they can't if they really wanted to. I would rather pierce my own ear with a rusty nail than set foot in this scam of a place again.

We're both pretty heavily tatted and generally sit great but both of us were twitching and flinching in obvious pain throughout the entire tattoo. Not sure if the machine speed was off or this was his standard style (he mentioned we sat super well which was funny to us since it was the worst we've ever sat). Besides the tattoo issues, the shop in general was definitely in need of a deep cleaning! There were lots of cobwebs and dust on fixtures and the bathroom was literally a construction site. We love supporting local shops and artists, but definitely won't be back here.

Note that if you're there for a tattoo appointment (not a piercing appointment) the tattoo doors are two doors down from the main shop! I was tattooed for about 2 hours and was able to keep headphones in during the session. Shop was clean and everyone working there was friendly and welcoming. I will most definitely return for more tattoos and piercings. Highly recommend Hannah's work as well! The one thing I will say is I do wish I was sent home with a bandage wrap (such as tegaderm or saniderm) instead of a traditional healing wrap with plastic wrap, but I understand each artist is different. Not a deal breaker for me at all just a skincare/method preference!
