This place used to be great. Ordered the knob hill and brought it home. The pizza is not made like it used to be. Very disappointing.

Hungry for some grub after running a few miles... the group decided to have some pizza (something quick and something reasonable). All I can say is what are we to do without a smart phone. We were famished and decided that pizza was to logical choice after exerting our selves all day. The original choice had a sign on the door that they are short staffed and it will take almost an hour to place our order and be able to sit and enjoy our meal. This particular situation called for our fast thinking fast finger companion... typed pizza around me! The rest is history and here we are. I am from SoCal so I am familiar with San Francisco and this place just reminds me of that. Even the menu lists Lombard Street Pizza, 49ER pizza, Ghirardelli pizza, Alcatraz pizza and Fisherman's Wharf Pizza... you get the picture. I ordered the meat lovers and for the love of me I can't remember what it was called nevertheless the pizza came and I devoured the whole personal size serving. We also had some chicken wings and breadsticks. Overall it was a great experience. Good food and reasonable price. So if you are in UT looking for a piece of San Francisco this might be the place for you. read more

Pizza was fresh and by the slice. Perfect for a quick lunch. Staff was friendly, and restaurant was clean.

So I ordered online pickup and they emailed me that it would be ready at 6:10 pm. I arrived on time but pizza was still in the oven. A woman that ordered in person 10 minutes after me got her order before me. I questioned why isn't my pizza ready when promised? It turns out they place in person orders ahead of online or phone orders always! This bumps the promised time of online and phone orders but they don't tell you that! I had to wait 15 minutes past my promised time. My answer: no more topping on line or phone! This is what you deserve if you aren't going to prioritize my order based on the order in which it was placed!!! ! read more

I had eaten here only one time before and we enjoyed it, but the price is outrageous so we hadn't gone back. Saturday night we were going to a movie and decided to stop in. my daughters drinks had strings of mold in them. Yes, black chunky mold. It was so disgusting! there were ants all over our booth that we sat in. We ended up moving to a different spot and it was fine, but with everything, my husband and I were so grossed out, we vowed to never eat there again. Please read this review carefully - My comment are focused on my own personal pizza preferences not relative to all pizzas. Problem #1: This is a very bready pizza. Not surprising as the brand is built around sourdough bread. The crust is very thick with little sauce and little cheese. Toppings are skimpy as they only cover the small area of the pizza with cheese and sauce. Problem #2: The toppings "look" processed. All pizza places buy their toppings in big plastic bags. Pier 49 toppings happen to look like they came out of a plastic bag. Problem #3: Price. Very expensive pizza pies for mostly bread. I can buy bread Old Grist Mill or Great Harvest Problem # 4: Maybe they use real sourdough starter for their crust - I don't know. It tastes artificial to me. I probably should not expect real sourdough at a pizza restaurant but given the prices, I would like something better. Praise: In my experience eating here (pick up) - the restaurant is clean. This was our favorite pizza place when we lived in Bountiful, years ago. Every time we visited, we got Pier 49. Now that location closed. We were happy to find a location in Logan. Our favorites are Lombard Street, a delicious barbecue chicken with just the right amount of sauce. And Fisherman's Warf, a white sauce pizza with shrimp and imitation crab. A tasty combination. This location is now under new management. The quality has declined, and the prices have gone up. That's too bad, because they really had great pizza with unique sourdough crusts. read more

What's the difference between ordering a soda or water? A cup! That's it! There you are supporting their business, but won't change the cup for water, bad business choice. Love the Pizza, maybe not the night time prices. I love to go in during lunch. I love the Manager's Special. I always add on a 1/2 order of cheesy bread sticks. The Pizza is Fab. When I think I can have the one from across the street, with corn meal all over the bottom and a lack of cheese and toppings. There is no comparison to Pier 49. Always an abundance of items on the pizza. The salad is great, especially the blue cheese dressing. My family and I have been here a couple of times since moving to the Cache Valley in September. My only complaint, is I wish they had something like the lunch special for dinner. My wife and I like a salad, Pizza, and bread sticks. Last night it was over $30 with a drink. This is my favorite pizza in town. My wife and I always order the $26.99 dinner for 4 because it comes with a jumbo and has bread sticks and cinnamon dessert pizza. I like their pizza because it's not dripping in oil and is full of flavor! Love the pizza. I alway order the jumbo specialty sour dough pizza with BBQ chicken and spinach Alfredo. Would give this a zero rating if possible!!!! Walked in with my son to get lunch and they had 4 slices of pizza sitting under their heat lamp. (Which had been there for 39 minutes). I asked if they would make another pizza. My son and I each wanted the 2 slice lunch special. She refused to make anything else. I called the owner and he said he would not and did not want business from people like me. I didn't ask for anything outrageous. I asked for fresh pizza from a pizza place! Never go here!!!! If yelp would allow 0 stars that would be my review. I just ate here and they gave me a hawaiin slice that had nothing but cheese with a few pieces of pineapple hanging off the side attached by cheese. I asked if he could give me one of the other slices that had ham and pineapple and he got angry and threw my slice away and literally threw the other slice toward my plate which landed half on the plate and half on the counter. I said "really" and he said "that's what I thought, really?" I then looked at his name tag to let the owner know and he said, "go ahead and call, I am the owner". I work close by and have frequented here often and almost had a punch pass filled but I will not be returning. Hey I would recommend you run from this place. I tried to take my 6th grade son there for lunch. The employee was rude, demeaning, and very unprofessional. He yelled at us and when I asked that he refund our money for the pizza that he literally threw on a plate--he refused and called me a name. I will never be treated like this again. We got to choose which pizza and what kind of fooky. We ended up taking half of it home to eat later. My best friend went here tonight to get pizza. My best friend had a coupon for a discount that didn't have any restrictions listed on it and excitedly placed an order through their app. When my best friend went to pick it up the owner (you know who you R) informed him that he can't use the coupon because he ordered it through their app. Nowhere on the coupon or in the app does it say you cannot use coupons when ordering with this app. My best friend PAID for the pizza and then checked the app to verify that it never mentions it anywhere. He then told the owner that to avoid any confusion in the future he should put instructions on the coupon or the app so nobody has to experience this. The owner then told my best friend to stop being a cheap a$$. My best friend was appalled that an owner would speak to a customer in that manner. My best friend never used foul language and left feeling belittled, but he is a mountain of a man in both stature and character. This place has a fantastic sour dough pizza. It's crisp to bite into, then soft to chew. A large menu of specialty pizzas mean you'll always have something new to try. The interior is clean and bright, with some really nice set pieces. Pier 49 would have received 5 stars, but it took 20 minutes to get a personal pizza when I was the only person in the restaurant (the staff also didn't notice a woman standing at the counter for a few minutes). Pier 49 pizza, in my opinion, is one of the greatest restaurants in the valley. I have gone there countless times over the span of my high school career, mainly because of their student special. They offer two slices of large, high quality pizza along with a drink for only five dollars free of tax. Their pizza never fails to satisfy me, golden crust all over smothered with zesty tomato sauce and bubbly cheese. Pepperonis cover every inch of their sour dough, San Francisco style pan pizza. The service is just as good as the food, quick and friendly. I have seen a few negative reviews about this establishment on yelp but they are from years ago. I can assure they have changed and have definitely made a change for the better. Whenever I go here, I could not picture a better lunch environment; a comfortable, well-lit booth with some quiet music playing in the background. They are also very hygienic, everything is clean and the workers are very careful with your food. The restaurant has a very comfortable feeling and the environment is very relaxed and fun. The only thing I would complain about is the bathroom. The bathrooms are clean and always stocked with whatever supplies you need, but the door is very unstable. You have to be very careful or else it will swing and it you on your way out. It is almost like the door is spring loaded and you have to use quite a bit of force to open it and leave without getting hit. Overall, my experience with Pier 49 Pizza has been very good and I recommend it to everyone. They will serve you with the utmost respect and priority and on top of that the food cannot be topped. This place is awesome. New management made a big difference. Best BBQ pizza I have ever had in my life. I also enjoy the other great flavors with sauces other than just tomato. Really offers a variety of flavors and new experiences. The price seems steep but you get what you pay for. I eat 2-3 slices to fill me up where as it seems like I can down a whole large pizza with the other guys. Also have low cost options when your feeling poor. I have been to this Pier 49 multiple times for many years. It was always great in the past and they would substitute toppings any time I would ask. They understood I was paying the same price for less toppings and would change one to help me out. Pizza was always great. Loved everything we tried. Then it was sold to a new owner. First time ordering I believe it was the new owner based on how he was but not sure. He was rude and when I asked for my normal pizza he wanted to charge extra for substitutions which we hadn't in the past. I always order the Nob Hill and remove tomatoes and onions and substitute bacon. He wanted me to pay extra for the bacon so we just ordered without the bacon. When we got our pizza the toppings were half of the normal. I was very unhappy so we decided no longer order pizza from here. Our kids missed it so much I decided to give them another chance. I figured after months they would catch on that people where unhappy with the changes. They increased the prices which I would understand if the quality and quantity was the same, however not only less toppings as before but the size was smaller. We ordered a jumbo and they gave me a large. I told them that was the wrong size and she told me that things have been changed with the new owner. I even asked my family when we got home what size pizza it looked like I ordered and they agreed it was a large not a jumbo. I had asked if they would add a little extra mushrooms since I was removing two other ingredients but she said she would have to charge extra which I expected but still feel is frustrating, which she said she has had many customers complain about the same thing. I chose to not pay extra and was really glad I did when the pizza was smaller than it had been in the past. So higher priced plus half the toppings and a smaller sized pizza. I ordered with no onions and the receipt even said no onions yet they put the onions on anyway. I said told her it was wrong and she apologized but misunderstood no white onions and assumed the green onions are what we wanted. She did apologize but didn't offer to fix it or do anything about it. I will never go back unless a new owner takes it over and it goes back to the great pizza it was before he bought it. read more
