Meatballs & Spaghetti
Shayla M.

I stopped into Pie-tanza for dinner. The restaurant was pretty empty. I had a hard time deciding what to order so I just opted for one of the wood fire pizzas and ordered the spaghetti and meatballs to go. The pizza did not take long to come out at all. The pizza was good. I would have preferred a little more sweeter sauce where this sauce is more tangy. The pepperoni is more of the deli style then the pepperoni cups. The spaghetti and meatballs did not have a ton of sauce. The meatballs were a decent size and where flavorful. If I was in the area again, I would check it out.

Always, always delicious food. Always remarkably generous portions. Always friendly servers and staff. Always shocked by how reasonable the prices are. They deserve six stars, not just five!

Pretty average as far as pizza goes. The sausage seemed a bit bland to me, pie ingredients chaos garnished (meat all on one side). Crust slightly too thin and crispy for my liking. It tasted okay, but nothing to scream home about. Portion is perfect for one person, provided that is your only order. The cheese appetizers are good, I mean how can you go wrong with deep fried cheese? The goat cheese balls do come on an insane bed of lettuce though, so it could in and of itself be an entree. The side (app) salads are huge and would probably work as a whole meal. Delicious, but I can't imagine how big the full size one is! Nice ambiance. Fair amount of kids and crowded on a weeknight. Big shout to our server Chloe who is the model for wonderful and friendly service. If I ever come back, I'd ask for her section.

Grabbing a hot slice!

Good family-friendly restaurant with wood-fired NY style pizza, but NOT Neapolitan. The ginormous charred pizza pies have a nice crunchy crust. The creamy White Sauce pizza with onion and thyme was more flavorful than the Cheese pizza. The pizza shake with oregano and fontina cheese overpowered the Cheese pizza. The cheese congealed pretty quickly and the pizza became tepid after 5 minutes. It was a bit disappointing to be served a can of Lambrusco instead of from a fresh bottle in a glass. There was a large assortment of flavored sangria and non-alcoholic bubbly sodas. The service was great and very accommodating towards my rambunctious family with a toddler and a baby throwing food from a high chair (we left a generous tip!). If you enjoy NY style pizza, you'll enjoy Pie-tanza. It was nice to support the small family business, but I prefer Neapolitan pizza at Modo Mia right across the street from the shopping plaza.

A true Arlington staple. I've been getting the margherita for over ten years-- it is one of my comfort foods. The sauce and crust are amazing.

Warm Caramel Apple Pie

A friend recommended this place to me and I'm glad she did. First off...the food. I'm a fan of thin crust pizza and the pizza I ordered had a nice charred crispy to it and the rich tomato sauce was pleasant. I'm also a sucker for apples and cinnamon, so I decided to try their warm apple caramel pie, which was served a la mode with vanilla bean ice cream. Was a little disappointed by this dessert because I thought it was rather bland. Nevertheless, it wasn't the terrible, so I ate most of it. Secondly, the service was attentive and not overbearing. My server was friendly and greeted me right away when she noticed me standing by the host stand without a host/hostess in sight. Last but not least, the ambiance was cozy, casual, and comfortable. I like the fact that they had chalk boards with menu items. Nice touch to add to the welcoming atmosphere. Pizza: 9/10 Warm caramel apple pie: 6/10

Pizza Kit for 3 Pizzas & 2 Toppings

Love the pizza here I've been going here for 9+ years now. But today was the first time I got a PIZZA MAKING KIT!! cutest date night I had with my fiancée got the 3 pizza pie kit (comes with 4 doughs) and got pepperoni and sausage toppings! Completely recommend so fun! I put the pizzas in the oven at 425 degrees F, for about 10min. Also we super appreciate the 4th dough, that's how we found out the exact time we needed to take out the pizza perfect amount of cheese, toppings and sauce!!

Favorite local restaraunt. Try the neopolitan calzone, sweet tomato pasta, or mediterranean pizza, or anything really because it all rocks.

Salads are amazing. Pastas are fresh and tasty. And the super hot, thin pizzas are full of flavor. The whole family loves it!

We were in town for my Italian grandmother's service at Arlington Cemetery, and I wanted to select a nice Italian restaurant for 7 of us on short notice on a Saturday. My family had doubts on my selection, but by the end of dinner they were apologizing -- the food was that good. Our waiter, Navi, was excellent. He patiently answered every single question from my very particular family and made the whole night feel effortless. There was also a guitarist playing chill background music that added the perfect touch to the evening. I had the chicken francese and finished with the spumoni tartufo -- both excellent. My dad ordered the tiramisu and said it was the best he's ever had. This place genuinely impressed an Italian family. Highly recommend -- go in, and don't let the outside fool you.

The quality is consistently excellent, and the pizza genuinely reminds me of being in New York. In fact, someone visiting us from New York tried it and absolutely loved it, which says a lot! The staff are friendly and attentive when we arrive, and they're also very responsive whenever we call. The portions are incredibly generous! Their large pizza is huge, with slices that remind you of a classic New York pizzeria. One large pizza can easily feed four people if everyone has about two slices. We also tried their Brussels sprouts, and they were really good! They're a great addition to the pizza order. I thought I had booked a reservation, but when we arrived I realized I never finished the prompts and my request did not go through. Fortunately, they were still able to accommodate us after a short wait. The staff was lovely and very attentive throughout our meal. The restaurant's exterior is unassuming, but it's quite charming inside. right when you walk in, there is a pasta mama making fresh pasta on the right hand side, which you can also see through the glass window from outside. It was very neat. Unfortunately, I can't remember the names of the dishes we ordered, but everything was absolutely wonderful. We started with a crab appetizer and were very impressed by the generous amount of fresh crab. The entrees were huge and in hindsight, we could have shared one. I also ordered a glass of red wine and even though we love sweets, we skipped dessert. We were too full! What a great experience!
