I was excited to try the vegan options at Pie in the Sky. I ordered via their website and tried using the 15% off code on their website, but it didn't work (strike 1). The actual prices were higher than the takeout menu prices posted online (strike 2). I really should have just not proceeded with the order but it was the closest vegan-friendly option. Upon arrival to the restaurant, I went to the register to pay and asked about the discount code. The manager came over and said the website was out of date and he didn't have a button to honor the discount. Bad business. When I got my receipt, I noticed that there was a 10% service charge (FOR PICKUP!) that they had not disclosed (strike 3). On top of all this, the food was just okay. That is not a muffuletta. I can forgive a muffuletta being on chibatta but it was unacceptable it was hot. There was rosemary on the bread which is also is not a part of a true muffuletta and imposed on the flavor profile. It was more like a thin olive tapenade that lacked the hearty pickled crunch of a true muffuletta. The meat was lacking and was not the same types of meat as a muffuletta. First order from this place was not properly prepared. Wrong wing flavor, and one of the pizzas (portobello) was missing most of its toppings as described in the menu. It's not bad pizza. I went there with friends for MOnday Night Football ***1st of all anything you order comes with a 20% COVID charge ** This is one the menu and the receipt. Your paying plus 20% on anything you order The game was on mute. Two other TVs were showing Netflix and some other tv show. The bartender was a young woman who had her homeboy at the bar chatting it up with her. The guy bartender placed the drink dispenser in the trash can. The actual drinks were terrible. The sprite was flat. A person ordered a drink with soda and instead got seltzer water in place of the soda. When the food came they wrapped it in a to go box even though it was obvious we all came to stay for the game. Our food didn't come until we made it clear we had been waiting since the beginning of the game (about 35 mins) This isn't really place to go with your friends for food and drinks it's actually more of spot for the bartenders friends to hang out. I will not be returning. Fells point has many bars to choose from and this place is bottom of the barrel. The food is not good. To give you an idea, I ordered a 14" Fell's Pie, 2 sodas, and salad with special instructions stating NOT to put cheese in it. Popped into Pie In The Sky today while down in Fells Point. I really just wanted to try it and you can tell a lot by one slice. Inside the restaurant seemed clean. I ordered a slice of cheese. I really didn't find the pizza to be anything more than pretty average. It didn't seem like it was cooked evenly. I also found it to be a bit doughy. The gentleman working seemed nice and checked on the table. We couldn't find plates nor were any brought out when the slices arrived. There's one bathroom, but it was fairly clean. I was was also glad they had highchairs as I had my son with me too. Although I wouldn't return for their slices I'd consider trying one of the more gourmet pizza creations. I really didn't look that hard at the menu so perhaps next time I will. I really want to give the plain cheese two stars, but overall it was about a 3. read more

I got the Greek salad which was fresh and paired with a great sauce. The Margherita pizza was very solid, excellent crispy crust that I dipped in some warm marina and ranch. The only negative thus far is some of the prices. They charge $1.50 for any extra toppings including menial things like garlic. Overall though would come back. read more

Having this new spot pop up on my Yelp feed was a very pleasant surprise-- Fells Point has tons of food options and it seems that a lot of those are pizza joints. That does not mean though that they're all worthy of your business. Pie in the Sky, however, is. Step inside the bold red exterior and you're instantly greeted by edgy, modern decor very representative of the outside. You've got marble-slated tabletops and counters and clean lines all around. Seating is more than plenty in the long, narrow dining area. You walk up to the counter, place your order, and take a number to your table. The owner, Murat, is extremely polite and a genuine pleasure to talk to. He will go out of his way to ensure you get what you want. His credit card machine wasn't working on the Friday afternoon that I went in-- naturally, I offered him cash. However, I sat and observed his interactions with every other customer who came in. He told them all to place an order and just pay him back later-- absolutely no worries. This kind of attitude, trust, and charm is what makes Baltimore 'Charm City' and I'm glad Murat embraces it. Moving on to the food, you've got everything you'd expect from a pizza joint like this. Gourmet pizzas, sandwiches, pastas, breads, and the like are plentiful. I had the lunch special-- for $7 you can pick any sandwich, receive a side of potatoes, and get a soda fountain drink. This is a fantastic deal and one that you'll be hard-pressed to find this cheap in Baltimore. ---- I Liked: Chicken Sandwich - The initial bite is chock-full of doughy heaven. The bread is baked in house and it really shows-- the crust is perfectly crisp without being tough to chew and the bread is light and airy. The sandwich had flavorful red peppers, tomato sauce, and marinated chicken. Every ingredient tasted fresh and was bursting with flavor. My one criticism would be that the chicken pieces are lined up on the edges of the sandwich-- this makes for great presentation but ultimately it also means that the middle of the sandwich is void of any chicken. Not a big deal, but worth noting. (You do not receive a breast or large piece of chicken, instead you get chunks of chicken, which is just fine). 5/5 Potatoes - The potato-wedge fries are delicious. They're crisp on the outside and soft on the inside; they don't feel too heavy from all the oil either. A generous slathering of garlic paste is evident and adds a ton of flavor-- though there may have been just a touch bit too much garlic. 4/5 I Disliked: Nothing so far! ---- Insider Tips: * Check out the lunch specials * Chew gum after having the fries-- the garlic taste will never leave * Customize your pizza if you don't want too many toppings and save money vs the $11 gourmet pizzas. Pie In The Sky is a welcome addition to the Fells Point neighborhood and I wholly recommend it to anyone looking to try something new. 4 stars because the pizza was really good in my opinion. The toppings seemed to be quality. There were a lot of toppings on the pizza. The crust was delicious. The pizza was cooked well. I really don't have a single bad thing to say about the pizza I got! One of the saddest parts about my visit was the ranch. I love a good homemade restaurant ranch and this ranch was not good. I would have rather had hidden valley. The guy behind the counter was very unenthusiastic, borderline rude, to customers. He literally had over the ear headphones on the entire time i was there....yikes. It was lunch hour too so that truly was an inappropriate time to be doing that. Someone asked him whether they were supposed to leave their plates at the table or take them somewhere and he looked at them, didn't respond, and kept walking. I believe it was the same guy photographed in a previous post where someone said the only time he was able to be bothered by anyone was if they were a pretty young lady and I had literally the same experience. The only time I saw a sliver of personality from this guy was when a pretty girl bought some tea. Personally, none of the negatives listed above would ever deter me from returning. I don't really go into a pizza place for the quality service, I go there for delicious pizza and I would definitely return if I'm back in the area!! read more

A sandwich, potato wedges and a soda for 7 bucks? That sounds like a pie in the sky type of idea. Well - at Pie in the Sky on Broadway, it's a reality. It was mandatory I started this post with a Pie in the Sky pun, right? Oh.. it wasn't... okay... This is a really nice place - lots of white marble, good lighting, spaceous and clean. They did take over the Mare Nostre spot, so that's what you'd expect. However, Pie in the Sky is you pizza/sandwich place, but with gourmet options but hold the pretension. The muffaletta was great - very strong on the olives, which I love, and some fresh greens to boot. The bread was chewy, but not too tough. Really a great sandwich. The potato wedges were pretty good - you don't get a ton, but enough for lunch, considering the muffaletta was large. They are lightly seasoned, heavily salted and fried till they are on the brown side (some would say burned, others would say perfect). All in all, a great lunch, friendly staff - and under ten bucks! One mark against them: The takeout is in Styrofoam. There are plenty of recycled/recylable options out there. Make the special 7.50... but this would be a great upgrade. read more

This place is the real deal. I happened upon it and arrived without any expectations. Best food move I've made in Baltimore (and this is a town chock FULL of delicious food). The bread, oh my god, the bread, which is made on site. I chose a grilled cheese sandwich and asked if they would put eggplant on it, and the owner was wonderful about accommodating me. I love a grilled cheese on a rainy day, but this one may have ruined all others. How can I go back to ordinary grilled cheese sandwiches after this experience? I wish I didn't live so far away. Pretty sure I would be their number one customer. If Pie In the Sky can do this with a grilled cheese, I have a feeling that I seriously missed out by not ordering something more interesting.
