Food, service and cocktails were great. We walked in at 8pm on Saturday and were instantly accommodated at the bar. We ordered something from their ever-changing menu - rabbit tostada maybe? Just go check it out, this place has the vibes, bar service, and tasty food.

This was my second dining experience at Pico. They were both 2 of best dinners I have ever had. Ambiance, service, food, drinks..ect. Top notch! Already looking forward to our next meal here. We traveled 4.5 hrs and would do it again next week.

We came here to wait for a reservation next door. They have a very large selection of wines and since we couldn't decide, we end up doing their recommend flight along with some snacks. We had a ceviche and their daily special with a flaky white fish as a snack. Everything was good and highly recommend if you want to sit and chat with friends.

By far, the best restaurant in Los Alamos. The menu changes and is always consistently good. The chef and owner is so creative and a craft at her work. Great price point, amazing wine and absolutely delicious food.

We made a last minute stop in Los Alamos. Pico was recommended by the hotel staff (across the street) and we were not steered wrong. Absolutely some of the best food I've had this year. The beet/goat cheese/pistachio salad was one of the best I've ever had. Every selection was perfectly prepared (and uniquely special). We could not be more impressed. Our server, Kristen, was a delight and made suggestions that did not disappoint. To top it off, the setting was spacious and well appointed. Every detail at Pico was considered and we will definitely be back.

Very nice inside. Weekday, no reservation needed imo.

Love the ambiance here and in general the service was good. Was missing bread plates to eat our fancy cornbread but oh well. I personally don't want my soft drink brought to me with the bottle. Basically no refill and I prefer on tap. Seems very specific. We ordered the beet & burrata salad. It was very good. Then had the wedge salad. Also excellent. My wife had the flight of lumin wine and disliked two out of three unfortunately but we liked that it was an option with dinner. She had the prime ribeye steak and while they said they cook it medium rare it was medium at best which was fine. I got the Wagyu burger it was said to come medium rare and I asked for medium. Well unfortunately it showed up borderline well done. It had some decent flavor but was a bit dry sadly. I am also a person who needs his lettuce , tomato and pickle but that's on me. Burger would have been quite good if there was a shred of pink. I was concerned I would get the waffle fries that I have seen in pics. Not a fan. To my joy I received some fresh hand cut fries and they were excellent! Made the burger disappointment ok. Also got the cornbread which was very good. Just give me some bread plates again. If my burger was truly medium it be giving 5 stars. It wasn't so it's gonna be 4. I think they are a 4.3 restaurant. Will return next time in town. Would rather go here than Belle.

Always a favorite place to visit, we planned our anniversary diner and we were nicely surprised by the attention given to us. Dinner and drinks were excellent, and service was great. We came on a weeknight and it was nice and quiet, had a great time.

What an amazing meal! Stumbled in here by chance while driving through and enjoyed every dish -- the Crispy cauliflower, the kabocha salad, fish and chips, cornbread, and homemade ice cream (honey lavender was yummy!) Plus the service was warm and friendly and the overall ambience was cool

Are burgers the only food option if you're dining here on a Sunday? Or is that an option in addition to the regular menu?

Burgers are the only entree. They have appetizers though. The burgers are fabulous!!

We made a reservation on Open Table just in case because we were VERY hungry. It is a cute place, on the smaller side and has a more modern take on seating. Some tables had couches and others were the traditional chairs/booths. After looking over the menu, we decided to order the focaccia bread, bates burger, and the mac n cheese. The focaccia bread came out with this delicious mascarpone cheese topped with honey and pepper on top. At first, we were a little worried but the blend of flavors were IMMACULATE! We contemplated ordering another one. Next the burger and mac n cheese came out. The burger was a bit dry, and it came out well done when we asked for medium (they ask how you would like it cooked when ordering). The potato wedges that come with it were very good, hot and fluffy. The Mac n cheese was the star of the show. We got the mushrooms on the side since we never had BBQed mushrooms before but they added such a complex flavor with the truffle cheese in the macaroni. We ended the night with their cookie skillet and it came with salted Carmel gelato (the menu says vanilla). She confirmed that the flavor was okay before putting the order in. Overall, we had a good night here and the view was beautiful. Side note: they have you park in the bottom lot if you are only coming for the restaurant and there is a number you call. They pick you up in the golf cart and drive you up! And they offer the same service to come back down! Thank you Alex (unless it was Ally we are arguing over your name) for such a positive energy and personality.

He came and asked them "Where are you guys visiting from?" And that was a whole conversation. He then came back a few minutes later to ask how their drinks were. And my friend and I were not acknowledged one bit and we were sitting right next to them and were the only ones in the room with them so it was very obvious. We did not feel welcome at all. The inn leans into the old west aesthetic, but the tavern is just elegant and attractive, with leather furniture, a high vaulted ceiling, and a lot of windows. It was pleasantly bustling on a Friday night, with what seemed like a mix of hotel guests and other visitors. Los Olivos has a population that hovers around 1,000, so this restaurant, like the stagecoach stop, is there to serve travelers. Accordingly, service was first class. There was a full bar with elaborate cocktails and plenty of wine from the area. We ordered two rounds of cocktails, as we planned to drink wine all weekend, and they were all very good. The Vaquero Campfire was a refreshing mezcal drink with pink peppercorn, honey, and charred grapefruit. The Cigars & Horses was a boozy mix of bourbon, yellow chartreuse, and smoked cinnamon. Los Rancheros Vistadores was a pleasantly bitter tequila cocktail, with reposado, amaro, Aperol, and orange olive oil. And the Pinochle Punch was a smooth blend of milk-clarified rye, cognac, and orange. We ordered wines by the glass to go with our entrees, and these were both lovely, too. The Sandlands Lodi Red Table Wine and the Racines Mattei's Cuvée, a Chardonnay that must have some connection to Mattei's Tavern. The food was delicious. We started with a half dozen oysters with mignonette and lemon and Gin's tuna carpaccio, topped with scallion, radish, ginger dressing, and cold-pressed California olive oil. Then we had Mattei's house focaccia, served with cultured butter and herb oil, and the country pâté, with cherry, tarragon, and sourdough. The entrées were both excellent. The Channel Islands rockfish was beautifully cooked, served in a vibrant tomatillo sauce with hoja santa, with sides of roti, grilled avocado, and grilled lime. The Colorado lamb was tender and juicy with a nice spiced crust. It came with couscous, vadouvan, mint yogurt, onion, and dates. For dessert, we shared the affogato: vanilla ice cream, Handlebar espresso. Hard to think of a better way to wind down a big meal. We charged dinner to the room and got $100 through a hotel promotion. This covered some of our drinks. The Tavern is not a cheap restaurant, but it is a great one, well worth checking out on your visit to Los Olivos.

Service is where things fell short both times. It took about 40 minutes to get our breakfast after ordering, and it was pretty obvious the plates had been sitting under a heat lamp for a bit. I used to work in food service, so it's something I tend to notice. We weren't in a rush, but we did need to be in and out within an hour. By the time the food came, we had maybe 15 minutes to eat and had to ask for the check right away just to stay on schedule. Overall, it's a great spot if you have the time to hang, but I'd be cautious coming here if you're on any kind of timeline.
