Bread and Circuses - Trying the chicken Sando!!

We were greeted by the lone employee who was super nice and accommodating. We asked him to make the salad vegan and he was super cool about it. We ordered and shared the Seasonal Salad, Garlic Fries and Gnocchi Tots. By far, the Gnocchi Tots were our favorite. These unique dime sized gems were fried gently with a nice light batter and served with marinara dipping sauce. Absolutely awesome! The salad was cool and refreshing and the garlic fries were decent (gotta beat Grounders Garlic Fries at T-Mobile Park to win me over - a tall order!). We ordered additional sauce sides of Chipotle Ranch and Burger Sauce for dipping options. Overall, the food went well with our drinks and were perfect for sharing. I would love to try the burgers on a future visit. Great service and unique and tasty bar food at a delicious cider house. Good job Bread and Circuses!

How do they remember me? Do they put in the notes, "gray beard, mariners gear, looks stoned." The server brought out the food and it was incredible. Located inside "The Woods" there is seating inside and out. While the service was quick, the food was great. We tried the gnocchi tots and served with their homemade marinara. Yes...yes...YES. The fried chincken Sando was spot on and the jalapeño mayo was just enough spicy...but I should have gotten extra marinara to dip the sandwich in. Perfect in every way. Great job.

Thankfully dine-in is back open again, so we got here on a Saturday morning around 11:20am to indoor seating that was nearly full and a small line that was forming at the front counter. Walls have a bunch of photo frames, and overall place felt very homely. They have a ton of Hawaiian style plates and even burgers and some seafood, though we and most others got the former to eat. I ordered their chicken and pork combo Hawaiian style plate, and my bestie got their chicken katsu Hawaiian style plate. Portions are huge for both plates and both also came with macaroni salad. They give you sooooo much meat no matter what you get. To go in slightly more detail: - Chicken and pork combo: both meats were flavored very well, and a little sweet too though pretty salty without using the rice as a palette cleanser. Chicken had more depth in its flavor; the pork's flavor was a little too much for my liking, and was slightly harder to chew. Both meats had some sauce hat went onto the rice itself. This didn't detract from my overall experience here, though. - Chicken katsu: we both agreed this was our favorite after exchanging pieces of each other's dish. The katsu is crispy and crunchy, and the chicken itself retained a lot of its juiciness. Katsu sauce on the side is honestly optional since the meat itself is already salty enough. This place does share extremely limited parking with Cakes of Paradise next door, so get here early or be prepared to drive around the area to find some. Just get here, it's a place you can't pass up when you hit up Georgetown!

Parking is scarce, so plan ahead and be patient. We came on a Wednesday and happened to score a parking spot right in front of the bakery. Once you arrive, get in line immediately--there will be one. The woman taking our order was incredibly peppy and friendly, even while juggling everything: taking in-person orders, answering phones, serving customers, and bagging food. Seriously impressive. All the seats were filled, so we ordered everything to-go. We got the famous crispy ginger chicken, spam musubi, and chicken long rice. I was hoping for oxtail soup and asked about it--she explained they only offer it on certain days and recommended calling early in the morning to check, then getting there quickly because it sells out fast. Can't wait to come back and try it. Back at the hotel, we feasted. The crispy ginger chicken is famous for a reason--so flavorful, perfectly crispy, and somehow even better the next day. The chicken long rice was packed with noodles directly in the soup (not separately) so the broth had mostly soaked into the noodles, but it was still deeply flavorful and comforting. The spam musubi leans on the sweeter side, which is great if that's your thing. Overall, this place is all about heart, hustle, and seriously satisfying Hawaiian comfort food. Come early, expect a line, plan for parking--and you'll be rewarded.

It was quite busy when we got there, with most all of the tables occupied, with a pretty loud rumble in the room with all the people in there. Our server was good, very difficult to hear at times, due to the noise in the room. We all ordered something different, Carne Asada, tamales, enchiladas, and posole soup. I really enjoyed the posole soup, it's my go to dish while I'm there, this time they had a green special version, which I wish I would've been warned was extra spicy. I did eat it all, because it was really good. My wife enjoyed the chicken enchiladas, with the mole sauce, which is her go to. Our friends enjoyed the Carne Asada and the tamales. We will definitely come back, we always enjoy dining here.

I've ordered the tamales on multiple occasions, and every time they've been dry. The dough and filling are so dense that I end up leaving most of it because it's incredibly difficult to chew and swallow. Most recently, I tried their burrito, and it was disappointing on multiple levels. The portion was very small for the price, and it lacked even the most basic seasoning. The meat didn't taste like it had salt or pepper. Honestly, burritos from Chipotle have more flavor. I also tried the shrimp tacos, which were about 80% lettuce and sour cream, with very little shrimp. Once again, the shrimp had no noticeable seasoning. This place used to be packed with authentic flavors, but the quality has clearly gone downhill. After this last experience, I won't be returning or recommending it to anyone looking for authentic Mexican food.
