I am in love with pickle ball!!! In high school, I was a competitive paddle tennis player and competed up to the state level. Pickle ball reminds me of paddle tennis with some principles of tennis. In Pickle ball the ball is a lot lighter than paddle tennis. OMG! I had so much fun tonight. I participated in an introductory Pickle ball lesson at Pickleland, which is technically in Pflugerville but feels like driving to Hutto. There were three instructors who were shared with 14 players. They provided an overview of Pickle ball and then they let everyone practice serving on a rotation basis. Next, we segregated into teams based on the folks we came with. In our case, it was four friends playing together. The instructors segregated us into teams based on a random number drawing. It took us out of our comfort zone in a very good way. Then we returned to our original teams and played some more. The instructors helped us with positioning on the court, counting and announcing our scores and line calls. The instructors were extremely helpful!!! They made learning Pickleball fun. Pickleland is massive in size with extremely knowledgeable instructors. They have some cool features on the courts - a hook for your camera if you want to film while playing. Also, they have convenient Pickleball racket holders. The Pickleland staff shared membership offerings and associated benefits. They also have an upper level that can be used for corporate events, parties and other occasions. It costs $100 per month for membership with unlimited access. However, they offered an introductory short-term membership of $10 for 10 days but only the day of the introductory Pickleball session and a return to regular pricing after the 10-day introductory period. It is a good way to try before you buy. Pickleland is a bit far from where we live, however, I will be looking for a Pickleball option near our home. I highly recommend Pickleland!!! read more

I'm a non-member who comes to the club periodically and pays the walk-in fee. The last two times I have come in, there have been no other members to play in the time slot I booked. The first time was for myself, and the second time was yesterday when I signed my wife up for the beginner's group. Yesterday they gave me a refund but the time before that the attendant only issued me a credit (which I felt was wrong). What's disturbing to me is that I'm taking the time to drive over there (we live by Dell diamond so it's not exactly close for us) and the club makes no effort to notify me that I'm wasting my time coming over. A simple phone call or text message would be the proper thing to do. I'm tired of driving 40 minutes round trip just to find out there's no one to play and not being compensated for my time. I need to get some practice for my wife who is just starting off playing pickleball but will refrain from coming back to PickleLand (I'm going to check into the Pickler or Austin pickle ranch the next time I need to reserve a time slot for my wife) Addendum: In response to Alejandro's comment: -The credit I used was based on a paid session so the company was not out anything by me using it (you owed it to me). -I did check the roster and there were 4 players signed up. One of the players canceled 30 minutes before the session and your staff member was the one that told us (so he did have an opportunity to communicate that and save us a trip). I called Alejandro last Fri when he left his reply. They don't typically answer the phone so I had to leave a voicemail. I suggested a comp session in their Pickleball 201 clinic (it seemed like a fair compromise and we would at least know the instructor would be there). Alejandro never returned my call as of today...5 days later). I'll assume his response was just a PR thing (he certainly doesn't seem to care one way or another). Pennywise and pound foolish. We went to the Pickeland Kids Bash this past Sunday and my children had such a great time! Esther was amazing with the kids. She was patient, encouraging, and made everything so fun. I loved how the activities gave every child plenty of chances to play and feel included. My daughter especially enjoyed learning how to hit, and my son hasn't stopped talking about the fun drills they did. The whole atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, which made it easy for the kids to feel comfortable and excited to try something new. My team hosted a private event at Pickleland and we had a BLAST!! This new indoor court has about 3 courts up front and 6 inside. A/C is flowing great and lots of balls/paddles to rent. The staff was very accommodating and took the time to teach my co workers how to play. They also have drinks and non-alcoholic drinks to purchase. The mezzanine area is large with corn hole and connect four. Plenty of parking around the area. This is going to be a great pickleball community. Highly recommend! read more

Facility is huge and clean. Courts are all separated with fence which makes it easy to chase your ball and not interrupt others on nearby courts. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Making reservations is highly recommended because it fills up quick and is busy at peak times. My sister has a membership and goes a few times a week. I've been coming to this location off and on, but more consistently as of recent. Alejandro (CEO), Craig (GM), Zack (Instructor/Coach), Esther and Colin at the front desk, have been phenomenal. I love that this place allows you to take the beginner class and intro 101 (paid session) as many times as you feel comfortable moving to the next level in pickleball. The instructors are engaging and take the time to help you level up. Clean facility, I love the beginner open play sessions (I've made quite a few friends), best prices in Austin, awesome events (singles, couples, EDM, and other events always have a large turn out, especially the singles event). It does not have changing rooms, combination lockers, shower facilities, or gym equipment for light workouts or warm-ups. Starting in May 2025, Pickleland has decided to require a minimum DUPR level for many of its open play sessions, which I see as an attempt at money grab without providing any added value. The facility is really nice and the staff has already been incredible! There's 9 beautiful indoor courts with fencing and an upstairs mezzanine with games. The staff is super nice and showed us around the facility. The nets are very nice brand new Selkirk ones that look very sturdy. They offer drinks for sale. It's really nice to have a pickleball location right in Pflugerville. I was really excited and had high expectations from watching a PIckleland ad on instagram. Here are the best parts of this facility: - Right off the bat I noticed the facility had really high ceilings with very well AC ventilation. - Staff is very helpful and accommodating - They have a snacks and drinks that you can purchase. Although the facility has high ceilings the courts felt a bit cramped with narrow walk areas. Some other things that my friends and I talked about in terms of areas of improvement are: - Front entrance into the parking lot is not that easy to find. Driving through the gravel and rocks to get in was not fun. Felt like we were driving into a construction site. - I reserved a court and I received an invoice and confirmation email with no other instructions. When I arrived, the front desk person stated that I'm the only one signed in. She taught me how to click into the reservation and share the link with the rest of my group. This is an easy fix to avoid confusion, just include a shareable invite link and instructions in the confirmation email instead of dealing with confusion and wasted court time at the front desk. - No music no fun. Luckily we brought our portable speaker and played some upbeat music which a bunch of people told us they appreciated and enjoyed. - Please at least put benches in the courts or court area for us to put our stuff down and rest if needed. - We've been to other pickleball courts and all of them close at 12 midnight, I would definitely enjoy the extra 2 hours if it was available. i was definitely a little biased because I saw the instagram ad and it was heavily hyped but it definitely needs improvement to compete with other facilities that is within the same driving time for me. read more

If you want a great place to play pickleball and learn from awesome people this place is it! Came here because I was visiting from Cali and dang this place really drew to me. The lighting was great, the ceilings were pretty high. This place was definitely different than the indoor pickleball courts I have been to. This place also has more courts and the vibes here are great. The people that work here have great customer service and they always smile when you walk in. What is nice is that you could play by skill level and people there are challenging but in a good way. The best part too playing in this challenging environment is that there is no weather involvement, you just keep playing and playing. Every time I enter the pickleball court area, there's a strong odor reminiscent of dank, stagnant air infused with old sweat. I believe this facility lacks the proper minimum total air changes per hour, which is why it stinks! I've been to The Pickler and Pickleball Kingdom, and they don't have the revolting smell that Pickleland does. Other than the stench, Pickleland offers the best rates for open play, but it's located in the middle of nowhere, like cow country. read more

I've recently picked up pickle ball and have tried a few different places. This place is relatively new and still developing, but it's off to a really good start. The check in process can use a few improvements, and some additions to the court areas themselves, but it doesn't affect the overall experience of actually playing pickleball - which is great. Service is everything, and as they grow I know they'll work to build this out. It wasn't bad by any means, but pointing out more things and introducing the space was an aspect that was missed. I'm excited to see how it develops, but they do get the pickleball right - which is the most important. I do hope parking and pavement improves though. Excited to see how it expands. read more

Got to the court and nobody was at the front desk to check you in because the person who was supposed to check you in is also playing a game. What kind of business is that.
