Out of all the different pickleball places in Houston, this is the pickleball spot that I call "home." I always give new pickleball spots a chance and check them out for fun, but HPC is my favorite as far as how nice the facility is and how good the competition is here. I've only been playing pickleball consistently for about 5 months now, but HPC is a big reason I've improved so quickly. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, HPC can accommodate all skill levels. I generally come here for open play on Tues, Wed, and Thurs from around 630pm - 11pm when they close, you're guaranteed some great games for sure. I also appreciate that if you want a private court, peak time price is around $35/hr. You'll get a discount if you're a member or go at a non peak time as well. I like how orderly it is, and it even tells you when open play slots are fully booked or let you know which of your friends signed up already. They have a good queue system and even when the stack of paddles look long, it usually moves by pretty quick because they have so many courts. There are many games in the middle such as cornhole and table tennis, a very nice turf area to chill while you wait for your game. Overall, I would come back and would highly recommend!

We visited on a weekday morning and they were offering $5 open play, which felt like a great deal for comfortable indoor courts. I don't play very often, but for that price and setup, it's hard to complain. They have plenty of courts, and when we went there were only a couple other groups playing, so it never felt crowded. The guy at the front desk mentioned it gets much busier after work hours, which makes sense given the downtown location. Besides pickleball, they also have a ping pong table and a couple of cornhole setups if you want to take a break between games. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase, but having the food hall right outside is definitely a plus if you want more substantial food options afterward. Parking options include garage parking ($6 for the first two hours) or nearby street parking. Overall, a great addition to downtown Houston and a convenient spot for people living in downtown or surrounding neighborhoods.

They have some shaded seating and open seating. None of the courts are covered/shaded. There is parking but I could see it getting full. They have bathrooms but I didn't check them out myself. The parking lot has a bit of a deep dip in the middle... I do hope that can be fixed in the future. Once you walk onto the premises, you feel like you're at an island villa. They played some great EDM music while we were there. Rackets were very affordable to rent for our lesson. The pickleball and Padel courts are well-maintained and look beautiful! The instructor and owner, Alan, had a very positive and welcoming attitude when we first met him. You could immediately tell how passionate he was about introducing Padel to the Houston community. Our lesson involved doing forehand, backhand, serve, and off-the-wall drills using a ball machine. Alan did a great job of explaining the proper form and techniques. He made it very easy for me to understand the fundamentals. His reassuring words and constructive feedback made me very enthusiastic to continue with the drills. After the drills, we got to do a practice game which was lots of fun! Afterwards, we were treated to a complimentary Gatorade which I was in dire need of as it was quite hot outside! I had such a fun time learning this sport and I would love to come back with my friends to show them how fun Padel is! Shoutout to Alan for being such an amazing instructor.

Since the slot was in this sort of increment, you get your best value by coming right at 3:00. I pulled my calf muscle in one of the games and they had ice for me. That was nice. Thank you! There is an area for kids, sort of, but not much to do. It's just an open space that's the size of half a court. It has a few crane machines and chairs to lounge on. I recommend them adding a small play set or bounce house for kids. The parents can then set them loose and have fun. Will definitely be coming back!

However when I walked in at 10am, there were only 2 other folks from my group hitting. The whole facility is brand new and took the spot of "Treasurez 4 Less" previously. It has a golf simulator and a fully stocked bar too. I also saw a private room for parties, a backdrop to take pictures at and a few claw machines. Great for kids and crowds and those who aren't there for pickleball. The courts themselves are pretty standard but there aren't any court dividers, easily having your neighbors balls interrupt your game. Still the courts are very nice. I used the Court Reserve app to register for a spot on open courts. I paid and got my receipt via email but to my surprise, when I checked-in in the morning, the dude said I didn't pay yet. I showed him my receipt via email and let me through. Perhaps this is a problem that hasn't been ironed out yet, and non of my friends had the same problem. I'm glad the guy was gracious and polite about it, but it came as a hiccup that shouldn't have been. If you're super serious about pickleball and care about DUPR and ratings, this place isn't for you. However if you're in it for a good time with friends, with easy access to alcohol and other fun things. This is a nice place to spend a few hours. For us, we were there for open play, which we reserved in advance for $3 per person. They have paddles to rent and balls for purchase. They also have a selection of drinks available to buy if you didn't bring a water bottle. There aren't any workers onsite, but there are cameras everywhere. They monitor everyone that comes in. Out of the 9 total courts, 6 were available for open play. There are baskets organized by DUPR levels where you can reserve your place in line with your paddle. The games can move fast depending on who you're playing with. But with any open play setup without workers, there were definitely some people who abused the system and played "forever" games when they played for an hour straight on the same court. This takes away playing time by other people also there who actually follow the rules. In total, there were about 50 people there for free play when we went. We were able to get our questions answered when we called them, and they also reached out to us when they saw us on the cameras that we were confused in the beginning on how everything worked there. Overall, a great concept and the execution of it wasn't bad. But unfortunately, there was no enforcement of the rules when it came to hogging the open courts which skewed our experience more negative.

Unfortunately, the bathroom on the course didn't have sinks for men and women. lol Carts are electric with gps but pretty much quite basic. Shout out to the rangers and especially, Reggie.
