I like how orderly it is, and it even tells you when open play slots are fully booked or let you know which of your friends signed up already. They have a good queue system and even when the stack of paddles look long, it usually moves by pretty quick because they have so many courts. There are many games in the middle such as cornhole and table tennis, a very nice turf area to chill while you wait for your game. Overall, I would come back and would highly recommend!

Out of all the different pickleball places in Houston, this is the pickleball spot that I call "home." I always give new pickleball spots a chance and check them out for fun, but HPC is my favorite as far as how nice the facility is and how good the competition is here. I've only been playing pickleball consistently for about 5 months now, but HPC is a big reason I've improved so quickly. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, HPC can accommodate all skill levels. I generally come here for open play on Tues, Wed, and Thurs from around 630pm - 11pm when they close, you're guaranteed some great games for sure. I also appreciate that if you want a private court, peak time price is around $35/hr. You'll get a discount if you're a member or go at a non peak time as well. I reserved our court online and it ranges from about $25-30/hr for the pickleball courts of which there are 4. We were the only ones playing pickleball but ll of the paddleball courts were full. They have some shaded seating and open seating. None of the courts are covered/shaded. There is parking but I could see it getting full. They have bathrooms but I didn't check them out myself. FYI when you're coming in it'll look a bit warehouse-y but just keep driving back lol

The maximum open play players is 36 players and you do not need to a membership to play. I called in ahead of time to get my name on the list but it was not required as there were only 18 people on the list at the time I called (1 hour before the open play began). They accept cash or credit card. The courts are well paved and the outside balls have a nice bounce to them. The courts are well spaced apart so there aren't too many instances of other people's balls rolling into the court. The lights were great as they do not blind you when playing due to the fact that the lights are facing upward instead of downward. There were 6 courts (rolling nets) and there were around 25-30 people in attendance so there was not too long ago a wait between games. I was able to play 5 games in the 1.5 hour open play session. There is pretty good intermediate group of players (with a few advanced competition - the pro working there is a 5.3 DUPR) here so that is a plus for more experienced pickleball players. The only complaint is that the pickleball kitchen line is a bit hard to differentiate from the tennis service line. My only wish was that the open play hours was an hour longer but getting to play 5 games in 1.5 hours isn't bad. I would rate this place 4.5/5 due to the pickleball kitchen line issue but I will round up to 5 stars. Will definitely come back!

If you happen to go and you end up on the top level, be sure to use all protection to keep from burning in the sun. My advice. There is a lot of room for everyone to be stretched out, no one in the way, and plenty of area for everyone to enjoy themselves. I found it so fun. Can't wait to go back. It was in a nice area it's very big. They even have Beck's Prime on the property just in case you need a break and something to eat.

Sadly, I played here recently (for the first time in years) and it's in pretty horrible condition now. Oddly they seem to have invested in fancy new golf carts (with GPS, etc.) while letting the actual course deteriorate. Every aspect of the course is in unacceptable condition. I believe they also raised their rates. I won't be returning anytime soon and only recommend playing here if you live very close just for the convenience. Hermann Park, Gus Wortham, and Memorial are way better municipal course options even though they cost a little more.
