I like how orderly it is, and it even tells you when open play slots are fully booked or let you know which of your friends signed up already. They have a good queue system and even when the stack of paddles look long, it usually moves by pretty quick because they have so many courts. There are many games in the middle such as cornhole and table tennis, a very nice turf area to chill while you wait for your game. Overall, I would come back and would highly recommend!

We visited on a weekday morning and they were offering $5 open play, which felt like a great deal for comfortable indoor courts. I don't play very often, but for that price and setup, it's hard to complain. They have plenty of courts, and when we went there were only a couple other groups playing, so it never felt crowded. The guy at the front desk mentioned it gets much busier after work hours, which makes sense given the downtown location. Besides pickleball, they also have a ping pong table and a couple of cornhole setups if you want to take a break between games. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase, but having the food hall right outside is definitely a plus if you want more substantial food options afterward. Parking options include garage parking ($6 for the first two hours) or nearby street parking. Overall, a great addition to downtown Houston and a convenient spot for people living in downtown or surrounding neighborhoods.

The fences are low so if your ball goes out, you have to run into the parking lot to chase. Often times the ball will go in the street, etc. if they would have paid for 10ft fences that surrounded the courts, with netting, this would not be an issue. The next thing is the lights, if you play when it's dark the lighting is poor which makes it hard to see the ball in some areas of the courts. The final challenge is the wind, it's always windy at this facility. I guess with it being outdoor surrounded by building, no proper tennis or pickleball fencing, your balls go all over. So unless you're a power player and this doesn't matter, it makes game play not as fun. The facility inside is just kinda of an open concrete space with outdoor furniture, it's not really maintained or a spot to chill. You can never just book a court or easily get some play going because they only have 6 courts. For me, it's just not my spot and would not recommend

Since the slot was in this sort of increment, you get your best value by coming right at 3:00. I pulled my calf muscle in one of the games and they had ice for me. That was nice. Thank you! There is an area for kids, sort of, but not much to do. It's just an open space that's the size of half a court. It has a few crane machines and chairs to lounge on. I recommend them adding a small play set or bounce house for kids. The parents can then set them loose and have fun. Will definitely be coming back!

Out of all the different pickleball places in Houston, this is the pickleball spot that I call "home." I always give new pickleball spots a chance and check them out for fun, but HPC is my favorite as far as how nice the facility is and how good the competition is here. I've only been playing pickleball consistently for about 5 months now, but HPC is a big reason I've improved so quickly. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, HPC can accommodate all skill levels. I generally come here for open play on Tues, Wed, and Thurs from around 630pm - 11pm when they close, you're guaranteed some great games for sure. I also appreciate that if you want a private court, peak time price is around $35/hr. You'll get a discount if you're a member or go at a non peak time as well. Thanks HPC for maintaining such a great pickleball community, I'll be back regularly for sure!

While we were waiting for the final fitting, however I had breakfast as did the person I brought along with me and the breakfast was really, really wonderful and very much unexpected. Not because I would purposely order bad food, but I wouldn't expect that in a facility that is a golf club fitting facility that the food would be so good but it truly was. Plus in the best of my recollection. I had a couple bloody Mary mixed drinks, which were exceptional as was the table service. I've heard amazing things about the people who have gone to be fitted with clubs from this facility and I will likely do so myself as I replace my clubs, but for the short term consider this an evaluation of their food, which was an omelette as I recollect, and it was exceptional as was the service as was, the facility as a whole.

Sadly, I played here recently (for the first time in years) and it's in pretty horrible condition now. Oddly they seem to have invested in fancy new golf carts (with GPS, etc.) while letting the actual course deteriorate. Every aspect of the course is in unacceptable condition. I believe they also raised their rates. I won't be returning anytime soon and only recommend playing here if you live very close just for the convenience. Hermann Park, Gus Wortham, and Memorial are way better municipal course options even though they cost a little more.
