Great new indoor place in Katy!…read more I've been to a couple of DUPR events - it's a toss up and depends on who is there that night. It's all levels and I watched a 4.0 end up with a beginner and have her score drop from that game. I do like that you never play with the same person twice. I have also gone to a couple of open plays. They have magnets that indicate your level when stacking but I noticed, not many will indicate their level - I'm assuming either they don't know about the system or they are willing to play with anyone... I am leaning more towards the latter. I know of a beginner that put beginner and they said that advanced players jumped on. I've played intermediate and also had advanced players jumped on - I think they just wanted to play - at least they were friendly. Most people here are friendly and they just want to play, so if you don't mind playing with anyone and everyone, then this is the place for you. They do have a challenge court for those that want a challenge! As for the courts, I do like the cushion courts. I had a friend that injured herself in PB and I've been scared but the cushion courts give me some comfort. I have hit my paddle twice on the walls. Their schedule is pretty scattered so you will need to check their schedule often to see where you can fit in and what's available. Bonus - there are showers!

You do have to wait in a queue and it does get annoying, however if you're not pressed on time, and just have fun, then I'm all about it. However we went on a cold-ish day and still had fun. They played some great EDM music while we were there. Rackets were very affordable to rent for our lesson. The pickleball and Padel courts are well-maintained and look beautiful! The instructor and owner, Alan, had a very positive and welcoming attitude when we first met him. You could immediately tell how passionate he was about introducing Padel to the Houston community. Our lesson involved doing forehand, backhand, serve, and off-the-wall drills using a ball machine. Alan did a great job of explaining the proper form and techniques. He made it very easy for me to understand the fundamentals. His reassuring words and constructive feedback made me very enthusiastic to continue with the drills. After the drills, we got to do a practice game which was lots of fun! Afterwards, we were treated to a complimentary Gatorade which I was in dire need of as it was quite hot outside! I had such a fun time learning this sport and I would love to come back with my friends to show them how fun Padel is! Shoutout to Alan for being such an amazing instructor.

This place is located in downtown Houston, parking is nicely connected to the courts…read more My main challenge is that this place wasn't built for pickleball. The fences are low so if your ball goes out, you have to run into the parking lot to chase. Often times the ball will go in the street, etc. if they would have paid for 10ft fences that surrounded the courts, with netting, this would not be an issue. The next thing is the lights, if you play when it's dark the lighting is poor which makes it hard to see the ball in some areas of the courts. The final challenge is the wind, it's always windy at this facility. I guess with it being outdoor surrounded by building, no proper tennis or pickleball fencing, your balls go all over. So unless you're a power player and this doesn't matter, it makes game play not as fun. The facility inside is just kinda of an open concrete space with outdoor furniture, it's not really maintained or a spot to chill. You can never just book a court or easily get some play going because they only have 6 courts. For me, it's just not my spot and would not recommend
