I've been coming to this Pick Up Stix location pretty often, and it's honestly one of my favorite go-to spots right now. The food is always fresh, the portions are generous, and I love that I can order sauces on the side so nothing is overly drenched. The grilled chicken with vegetables and brown rice is consistently good, and the Mongolian steak never disappoints. One thing I really appreciate is the portion size -- they're not stingy with the protein. You definitely get a solid serving of chicken here, which makes it feel worth the price (especially compared to some other places that charge just as much and give you barely any). What really makes this place stand out though is the staff. The cooks are friendly and you can tell they care about what they're doing. My first encounter of Pick Up Stix was in Vista and after church, my friends and my family would go eat there for lunch. When that closed down, I'm glad that this branch in Esco remained open and the only one that I know of in the North County. The employees are very nice. Tonight I had Mr. Alejandrino and he greeted me with a smile. I ordered House Special Chicken with Brown Rice. I've had this item many, many times and it's very delicious. What's great about this place is that they're one of the places that gives big portions and the prices are great. I can have the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Very friendly gent said about 15-20 minutes and they were open. Parking right up front, and plenty of spaces since it is in a large strip mall with a Target. I would not recommend pick up stix and please go to a place who would give fair amount of food for the price you pay. Specially for a special occasion please don't get or order from them. My Mother's Day celebration has been sad unfortunately because of the food that we chose to get and was not fair to give us the rights amount for the price we paid. Wasn't sure what I was going to order as they have so many options, so I asked the cashier and he patiently described to me what each entree came with. I ended ordering Peel orange chicken entree (normally comes with an side of rice white or brown) but I opted for noodles for a small fee. I also ordered the Kung Pao chicken with brown rice. Did not disappoint. Both were served fresh and hot out of the wok. A bit spicy for the kids so maybe next time I'll just tell them to take it easy with the chilis.
