Delicious food in Escondido that's worth the visit! Try their Bento Boxes for kids as well as dessert. I enjoyed my rolls. Albacore was amazing. Great service and relaxing dining area. I wouldn't hesitate to drop in again.

Omg these oysters are great and the chef said they are from Catalina Island. The California rolls was tasty and I was able to hold my food down. What a delicious meal and the service is great. The environment seems like they are renovating in the other room but the room we were in nice and chilly since it was a hot day. We will be back since this is our favorite oyster spot.

This place is great! Honestly do not understand their low score and I'm so glad I ignored it in making our choice for dinner. We decided to do a walking sushi crawl and try a couple of places we'd never been. This one is so good! The nicest and most attentive staff, 50% off a lot of different interesting rolls, and a clean, not cluttered atmosphere with a hip and fun vibe. So good! Love you sushi Yama!!!!

This spot was good. Excellent attentive service. The prices at first we thought they were kind of expensive but it ended up being really cheap because certain rolls are 50% off. They gave us a lot of ginger and wasabi which is a plus in my book. Not stingy at all. Sushi was good. Restaurant was clean.

Sushi Yama is the bomb!!!! I highly recommend both the Escondido and Deja Vu roll! Quality is always reliable, service is fantastic, and the flavors are off the charts. Make this a regular stop, so good!!!

Chicken Fried Rice is AMAZING!!!! Absolutely the best! Quick and fast service, if you're more in the mood for sushi go for the Escondido Roll and/or the Orange County!

I have a Groupon that is going to expire soon. Can it be used for carry out purchases since dine in is closed? Or is it open for dine in/patio?

Last week I used my Groupon dining in their patio area. But you should call the restaurant to get a current update.

Is dine in open yet? I have a Groupon that is set to expire in 20 days but says dine in only..

I have the same question. Or can we use it toward carry out purchase?

Is the lunch special available on the weekend and what are the lunch special hours?

Last time that I ordered, the lunch specials were not available since everything was takeout due to COVID-19

Do they have an all you can eat menu?

    Yes, on Sundays.

She's always attentive throughout our entire dining experience and makes us feel well taken care of without being overbearing. She has such a warm friendly personality, and it's clear she genuinely enjoys what she does. As for the food, we like to try different rolls each time. Some of our favorites so far are the Escondido roll, Dynamite roll (definitely one of our top picks), Dragon roll, and the asparagus tempura roll. We'll sometimes add a spicy California roll too. On colder days, I love getting their miso soup or spicy tonkatsu ramen, you can even switch out the protein for an extra charge, which is a nice option. My husband usually goes for the chicken katsu curry, and I really enjoy the beef yakisoba or the teriyaki salmon. So if you're in Escondido definitely give them a try!

If waiting were an Olympic sport, this restaurant would be taking home the gold medal every year…read more I've given this place chance after chance over the last year, hoping each visit would be the one where everything finally clicked. Instead, it's become a masterclass in patience. The employees seem to have discovered the secret to unlimited break time because every visit they're either in the front or the back enjoying conversations while customers stand around wondering if they've accidentally become invisible. When I judge a sushi restaurant, I keep it simple: miso soup and a basic roll. If you can't make the opening act exciting, I'm probably not sticking around for the encore. Unfortunately, the miso tasted like someone waved a seaweed packet over hot water and called it a day, and the basic rolls had all the excitement of eating cardboard with a gym membership. Then there's the outside food policy. Apparently, if your toddler dares to nibble on a chicken nugget from next door while the rest of the family orders sushi, the Food Police are ready for action. You could walk in wearing a tuxedo made of hundred-dollar bills and order the entire menu, but one tiny bite of outside food? That's apparently the culinary equivalent of a federal crime. The strange part is that the restaurant actually has potential. The problem isn't the building... it's the complete lack of urgency. Watching customers wait while staff casually chat feels less like dining out and more like watching a sitcom where everyone forgot they're supposed to be working. After a year of giving this place more second chances than a reality TV contestant, I'm officially done. If you're in Escondido, do yourself a favor: spin around, point in a random direction, Google "sushi near me," and you'll probably find a place where the staff remembers customers exist. I genuinely wanted to like this restaurant. Unfortunately, the service disappeared faster than the flavor in the miso soup.

Our party of two waited about 20 minutes on a Friday night with no reservation. It was quite busy that day with many other tables waiting to be sat. There are a lot of options on the menu, ranging from cooked items to sushi and rolls. After placing our order, it took only about 10 minutes before we received the first dish and everything else followed. We ordered a roll the sashimi set a hand roll and also a bowl of ramen. Their salmon and engawa was tasty, but I wouldn't say their fish is the freshest or have much flavor to them. Unfortunately, we had an issue with our spicy tuna roll (there was a piece of metal found inside). I'm sure it was just overlooked. But service was very friendly and accommodating. They immediately remade our roll and also provided some complementary dessert. The service here was quick and friendly. I appreciated it given how busy the restaurant was.

It was Sunday night and we were driving back to Escondido from Anaheim. GPS says they close at 9:30 PM. We roll in at exactly 9:05 PM. Place still had customers inside, open tables, and two hostesses literally started walking us to a table. The male host said, "Last call is in 10 minutes." Cool. I jokingly ask, "For alcohol?" because I wanted TWO damn sushi rolls, not a 12-course feast. He says with a smile, "No. Last call for food and everything else." Okay... easy day. We already knew exactly what we wanted. Simple order. In and out. No biggy. Then came the look. You know the look. The "damn it, I want to go home, why did customers show up during business hours?" look from management and the sushi chefs. Next thing you know, manager says we cannot be served. Wait... what happened to "last call in 10 minutes?" Suddenly now it is, "You missed last call at 9:00 PM." It was 9:06 PM. So your establishment closes at 9:30 PM... but actually closes at 9:00 PM... but also has a last call in 10 minutes... but also refuses service? Got it. Crystal clear. Listen, if y'all want to leave at 9:00, then change the damn hours to 9:00. Do not advertise 9:30 and have people driving 70 miles just to get hit with attitude and false hope. So we walked out and went somewhere else. Being turned away wasn't the problem. The problem was being treated like customers showing up during YOUR posted business hours was somehow our fault. Change your damn hours to 9:00 pm then. Do better!

The service is consistently great. They always make us feel welcome and this time they took care of us even though we came in right before closing. We ordered three sushi rolls, but honestly they never stood a chance. We ate them so fast I completely forgot to take pictures. If you're a sushi fan, get the Dragon Crunch Roll. It disappeared from our table in record time. We also ordered the house special fried rice, chicken teriyaki ramen, beef and chicken yakisoba, and the Korean popcorn chicken. The fried rice was packed with flavor and had a little bit of everything. The yakisoba was delicious, the ramen was comforting, and the Korean popcorn chicken was perfectly crispy with a nice little kick. It also came with miso soup, salad, and rice, which was more than enough food. Nothing here is overcomplicated. It's just good food, good portions, and genuinely great service every time. When we're trying to decide where to eat, Three Go Sushi is usually the answer. We'll definitely be back. Hopefully next time I'll remember to take pictures of the sushi before it's gone.

As an Escondido resident, I visited once with my son simply because it was convenient and we wanted to give it a try. The food was decent, but certainly nothing worth going out of your way for, especially considering the price. My older son is a true sushi aficionado, so he decided to go back the very next day on his own to give the restaurant another chance. Instead of simply enjoying his meal, he was approached by the manager, who questioned him about the tip and implied that he had eaten "too much." I've never experienced or even heard of an AYCE restaurant confronting a customer for eating what they're paying for. I initially gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. I assumed it was an isolated misunderstanding and encouraged my son to try again in the future, even suggesting he leave a better tip. Unfortunately, when he returned on another occasion, he was outright refused service. The explanation? According to the restaurant, he "eats too much." That is astonishing for a business built around the concept of all you can eat. If serving customers with healthy appetites is a problem, then perhaps they shouldn't advertise themselves as an AYCE restaurant. Needless to say, my family will never return. The food is mediocre, the prices are no better than competing AYCE sushi restaurants, and the way customers are treated is unlike anything I've encountered elsewhere. There are far better options in San Diego County that offer higher-quality sushi and know how to treat paying customers with respect. As a final note, the restaurant itself did not leave a great impression. Our table was sticky, and the men's restroom was poorly maintained, with a toilet continuously running and a broken urinal. Combined with the mediocre food and the unbelievable customer service, this was an experience we won't be repeating.
