This is now called Metro Market... I don't know ow what has happened to this grocery store since the rebranding over the last couple of years... but Boy Howdy has it gone down hill. Produce section used to be great... not its regularly picked over and or just absent. The specialty section used to be the best part of this market - now it's just sort of an odd mishmash of unorganized stuff. Good luck finding an actual check out line... in general there is one open line... you'll otherwise need to go to the self checkout - which mostly doesn't work. The store isn't particularly well kept or clean... which is a turn off in a grocery store. When this was a pick and save it was a bit of a gem... sadly no longer. read more

To be fair, I want to make it clear that my critical comments of this branch are directed at both the company and management. The staff appears to be playing the hand they are dealt. The store itself has a layout which is almost completely non-intuitive. This is in contrast to some of the other stores I have shopped at in the past. I was there on a Wednesday mid afternoon, and most of what I was looking for was out of stock. The specific eggs I was looking had numerous packages left, but they were all either opened or broken. Going forward, I'll stick with the ones which I am more satisfied with. read more

Amongst the many other reasons why this place is a joke, ask them why they dont have baskets anymore. Its laughable at best. Also, make sure to check the price listed on the shelf against the price on your receipt, regardless if its a club savings or not. They dont always update their pricing to match what is on the shelves, and you might find yourself getting overcharged on items. read more

As always, gotta check that sushi section anytime I stop at pick n save. This is the first time I've actually enjoyed sushi from pick n save. A lot of times when I get sushi at any pick n save they are never satisfying. I still get them because I'm desperate for shusi! LOL See photos. The meat was fresh and the taste was great! Only thing that could have been added was cucumber. It was missing the crunch but it still tasted good without it. You can see in the photo that they were very generous with the fish. That's a plus! Unless you enjoy checking your own groceries, don't shop here. We just left this place on a busy Sunday evening and they had three check out lines open, totally backed up! The self checkout was also packed. The machine made us get help about 6 times and at the end, wouldn't give us our change until a manager came over. RIDICULOUS. read more

Today, 9/25/2022, I asked an employee working in the refrigerator section, where they might have cotija cheese. This was after I spent 10-15 minutes going through every pack of cheese available. His reply was, "What's that? I've never heard of it. If you can't find it on the cheese wall then we don't have it." I understand the staffing crisis in this country. But, this is one of the worse grocery stores to shop at. So many things are regularly out of stock. Today there was only one person checking out groceries, and a woman barking orders at the "self-check." It is a very stressful place to try and get groceries, and I try to be patient and grateful. read more

This place succeeded in pissing me off right away. Since it is now my "neighborhood grocery," I am left with few (no) options when we want something from the store quickly. As Pick 'n Save tends to have a higher markup, we do not do our "big shopping" here. However we will grab sale items or enjoy the items from the deli, cheeses and (typically) their produce. The layout of this store is strange and I find myself wandering back and forth to find one item. I'm in a walking boot, so that makes the journey even more annoying. Rather than dishwasher tablets being in the same aisle as "household cleaners," they were in a separate aisle under "dish care." The taco dip is on point and we are willing to try more of the deli items. However the sushi is not so good (Hyvee's is.) Even the red apples we purchased for my kiddo's school party were insanely soft and overly bruised. I am not expecting "picture perfect fruit," but there's a limit to how knocked around it should be. The variety of items is limited and the customer service is sub-par, with the exception of two checkers and one stocker. Keep hope alive you three! read more

I don't enjoy shopping here. The store is smaller than other Copp's and it seems to be arranged differently. The selection is less, too. I understand it tends to serve a more upscale market so it tries to be a little more trendy and fancy, but I don't need that. The store is good in a pinch, but I try to shop at the other Copp's stores if I can. They have a larger selection and seem to be organized better. read more

I bought a berry pie at Pick 'n Save on Century Ave Middleton Wi. The "sell by" date was 4/4/19. I opened the container on that same date, and the pie had noticeable MOLD on it. Disgusting. Makes me wonder about the freshness of everything else in the store! Ugh. read more

Since this is only a few blocks from home, I tend to frequent Copps. The first time I went to a Copps, I was bowled over by their rainbow of gorgeous produce( I had been frequenting Woodman's East because of location...which has scary scary produce). I think I heard angels singing...but maybe that was just the Muzak in the background... They have a great selection of ethnic food(although not as large as Woodman's), a decent bulk section, and great meat/seafood counter. The guys there are always pretty helpful. The prices are a bit higher than several other chains in the area, but it's a great place to find those special items. read more

While Copp's is not my primary grocery store, I drop by periodically when traveling between Madison and my home base in Waunakee, especially if I need fresh produce. In the past, the store has been generally clean and well maintained, but lately that's not always the case. The produce department is my favorite section of the store. The quality of the produce is better than what I find at Woodmans or the local Piggly Wiggly. Selection is solid as well. They could do a better job sourcing local products. This location has the standard issue bakery options (cakes, cookies, doughnuts, bread and rolls). The quality of the baked goods is pedestrian. The deli options are plentiful, including a small sushi counter. The selection of specialty cheese could be better. I've never been a fan of the meat department. The selection of cuts is limited and the quality of the meat doesn't pass the eye test. The chicken breasts I've purchased from this store often cook up spongier than I would like. As for packaged goods, the prices for staples like cereal, flour, pasta and canned goods are 10% to 25% higher than the prices found at Woodmans. The international and organic option pale in comparison to Woodsmans as well. Copps keeps changing up its policy on the use of loyalty cards to get the sales prices. After a short reprieve where no loyalty card was needed, they recently introduced the FreshPerks Card recently which is required to get the sales price. Hey Copps, you know what a real perk would be? Not requiring me to carry another stupid loyalty card to make your pricing somewhat competitive. The staff members are not overly friendly but competent. Overall, it's better no better or worse then the majority of Copp's Food Centers in the area. read more

We typically enjoy the shopping experience at Copps in Middleton Hills. We understand that there is a transition to new owners underway and that may be affecting operations. Today the store was out of individual potatoes (only large bags were available). They were also out of broccoli. The clerk told us that the vegetables were on a truck at the loading dock and they were hoping to unload it later today. Not the level of service we are used to or expect in the future. They have two or three very friendly staff. Management must be going through a transition because they aren't visible to the customers. read more

Convenient and fast when you use the self checkout lanes. This is a chain, not a specialty store, but they have a decent variety of liqueur, produce, freshly made bread and floral section. Considering we live in WI, the cheese selection is sad. The service is very good and everyone from stocker, to managers, to cashiers to baggers are friendly and helpful, every time! Great store with friendly workers. The selection is great, although as I was a visitor to the area, I am not sure if the prices are on par with other grocery stores. I had a special order cookie cake that the nice lady quickly personalized for the blizzard party I had at the hotel. The wine selection was pretty good and the prices for the bottles I bought were reasonable. The only thing I was surprised about was the lack of cheeses, particularly quality locally made varieties. read more

When I first moved out to Middleton I split my grocery-shopping between the two aged Sentry and Kohl's stores, neither of which were altogether satisfactory but was still slightly better than driving to Woodman's and fighting the crowds. When Kohl's became Copps not much changed, until one day I learned the store was closing and reopening in the Frank Lloyd Wright development further up Century. About a month after the store opened I visited it for the first time, and I was highly impressed. The layout is much more user-friendly and modern. I especially like how the produce and deli sections come together, so you quickly can pick up meals-to-go and hit the salad bar right after walking in. Another nice feature of the aisle layout is the "Natural & Organic" shelves. In each section there is shelf space devoted to the natural and organic varieties, which makes them much easier to find then when everything is by brand. I've recently found myself utilizing the self-checkouts when I am only buying a few items, and it is incredibly convenient. I used to wait until I was out of just about everything to go to the store, but now I'm in and out in five minutes flat. I can't believe I never did this before. I especially enjoy the organic produce being the first thing you see as you come in the doors. The Farmers Market is great, but if you just need a tomato or an onion they're right there. The deli and the salad bar are always reliable, though I tend to get off work fairly l late and selections can get picked over. Just last night I discovered they sell sushi boxes, and I thought mine was very good - though the single soy sauce packet wasn't quite enough. The check-out staff have always been quick and friendly, and once when an item slipped out of the bag at the counter the bagger chased me out to my car to return it to me. The drawbacks of the store are that the prices are generally higher than Woodman's and the selection can be a bit sparse. I almost always find what I need, but there is always one item that is either no longer stocked or out of stock when I'm there, which can be really frustrating. There used to be a bit of a wait for check-out but now with the self-checkouts this isn't much of a problem. I also found that it is best not to go shopping on Sunday nights since much more seems to be out of stock. Also, the parking lot can get a bit hectic especially on weekends. Overall there's not much to dislike about the place, and it serves as a great anchor for the entire commercial development there. read more

Friendly staff. But often out of items. My most recent trip i had 12 items on my list and 3 were out of stock. Check dates. Famous for selling things on or after due date---slimy lettuce, moldy grapes, Narrow and narrowing assortment. This may all be how they afford the 'save' part. Just be diligent in the 'pick'. I really miss Copps and am moving my weekly shopping elsewhere using this for panic items. read more

First I will start with the positives: since the store was changed from Copps to Pick N Save I think quality of produce and meats has improved. I like some of the adult checkers, and the gal who seems to be in charge of the online pickup department is especially cordial and helpful. Now a few negatives: I went thru the checkout line a couple weeks ago at a non-busy time. The checkout lady had another adult helping her bag. The checker lady was complaining loudly to her associate about poor management and lack of recognition of employees, all in front of me while I was standing there. I was really mad about that! Unnecessary in front of clients, period! The other item which repeatedly annoys me is the lack of training the young people receive as far as customer service. The majority of them are sullen and do not even look up when you say hello to them. This is not a great template for these young people to carry with them as they mature and get higher wage jobs. Not good at all. If I had another store to choose from in Middleton besides the CoOp I would go elsewhere. They could do much better! read more

Deli needs work. My husband and I enjoyed going here for lunch because their salad and soup was awesome however the last few times we've been in (at noon/ lunch time) their soup is empty and the salad is picked over. The employees were no help and didn't stock anything. We were told they were working on it. At $25 per trip 3 times a week, well take our business elsewhere. read more

This company has gone from bad to worse. Highest prices with low-cost high schoolers as employees. Hard to find someone old enough to check out alcohol. Scam on membership discount. "Regular" prices are exorbitant to force you to hand over personal information to gain the "discounted" price which is still higher than anyone else. Don't they know you can get the same products for less at target without the membership gimmick? This is worse than their Chairman Bob campaign...most ridiculous marketing ever! read more

I give the Copp's store in Middleton a lot of credit. They are really beginning to build their organic and all-natural line of food a lot. They're also starting to offer a lot of gluten-free foods. If I can't find what I'm looking for, I always tell the cashier. Whether it does any good or not, I don't know but it seems like I'll suddenly see the product on the shelf at a price that's pretty reasonable. I really only shop at two grocery stores -- Willy Street Coop or Copps in Middleton. Sometimes I'll go to Whole Foods or Woodmans if I'm in those areas. I've been frequenting this Copps for many, many years and have never purchased anything spoiled or had any negative experiences. The cashiers are quick and efficient. All in all, it's my second favorite store after Willy Street. A big surprise this weekend: BEST, BEST, BEST GRADUATION CAKE WE'VE EVER TASTED! Everyone at our party this weekend raved about this cake. We had a blueberry filling in a white cake and it was super moist, delicious, delicious, delicious with a light but thick frosting to die for. I've had cakes years ago ordered from Copps and I just don't remember them being this good. It was better than cakes I've ordered from bakeries before. read more

This grocery store is so disappointing. I can't help but wonder if the management or inventory coordinator has no clue what they're doing. They are always out of stock of at least one important produce item that I need for a recipe. And these items are typically common items, like green onions or a type of potato. Their produce is also of low-to-average quality. A couple months they had no crescent rolls (other than the reduced fat kind). Yesterday, they were out of canned pumpkin. These were all big annoyances when you're trying to make a recipe that cannot be made without these items. I've rarely ever been in this situation at other grocery stores, but this seems to be a regular occurrence at Copp's in Middleton. The staff always makes the excuse that they are a "smaller store" than other Copp's. I would accept that excuse if I was hunting for specialty items. Everything they seem to be out of are common items. The only thing this store has going for it is friendly employees and good neighborhood location. read more
