Looks like a 1950's style diner on the outside (and inside too!). Also resembles a river side or lake side diner on the inside. Portside is old school - but that is a positive in every way. Great menu and great food. We stopped for breakfast and totally enjoyed it. For us, we did Eggs, Home Fries (Potatoes), and Toast which sounds easy but as you know - people mess it up. Not here, the amazing staff was super friendly, and working hard. The food came out fast and hot. Tasted great. We are looking forward to returning when we are back in area for lunch or dinner. I then hear the female employee tell him to go get our order after he finishes with that car. He comes over, takes our order, we pay. He never washes his hand, no gloves at all. He takes a couple of the donuts from an open container that had been sitting on top of donut case and puts in our box as well as a couple from the case. The two waitresses working that night were super friendly and welcoming, even though I didn't catch their names. They made sure we had everything we needed and provided great service throughout our visit. Waffle House isn't fancy or high-end dining, and that's not what it's trying to be. What it does offer is good food, generous portions, friendly service, and reasonable prices. I left full, happy, and glad we made the stop. Extremely processed meat like the nuggets, extruded in long flat strips. Edible but not really pleasant. And a small portion for the price. Don't bother. Also, a special sauce for Minecraft month, Nether Hot or something. Moderately spicy, but one-note flavor, basically a hot pepper sauce. Meh. The place was a bit dirty, crumbs on tables, sticky floor in areas, etc. All the kiosks were down, and there was a wait at the one register open. Even with sugar coating the shortbread cookies, the touch of vanilla made them taste light. I could easily see myself eating far too many of those. The star of the show was the matcha. 10/10! I've never had a pistachio flavored drink, so I was a little hesitant, but wow, I'm glad I ordered it! The matcha base wasn't overly sweet nor was the pistachio foam overly salty.
