This review is 4.5 star review with a COVID bonus. Plenty of spacious, shaded outdoor seating. Good service. Reasonable prices (sandwiches with fries in the $teens). We split a filet mignon sandwich and a turkey Russian. The filet sandwich came with a portobello mushroom, provolone, and grilled onions on a light bun-very good. The turkey Russian was clearly real turkey breast with a sweet slaw on toasted buttery bread. The flavor of the Russian was surprising at first but definitely worked. The fries were on point: crunchy outside and smooth inside. A very tasty lunch. I was particularly impressed that each component of what we ate was well executed. Whoever is cooking pays attention to the details. Will definitely be back. read more

There is a very nice vibe here. Its a bar but it is clean and tidy. It has a local neighborhood hang out feel to it. The staff is friendly and laid back. I stopped in for lunch with my coworkers. I ordered the Crab bread, Ears, (Chicken breast cutlets) with mild sauce. Onion rings. Everything was very good! The crab bread is enough to share, 8 slices. Its a spread with crab meat with cheese and heated until the cheese is melted. The Ears are chicken breast cutlets with your choice of sauce. I had mild, it was just right, not too hot. I absolutely loved this place! Came here on their all you can eat wing night on Wednesday and I was prepared for it to be packed. It was actually not crowded at all and we were sat almost immediately. My favorite kind of wings are hot and honey so I was super excited to try them here. I was not disappointed! Despite my last review we decided to go back and we noticed things changed for the better. The first is they have a very large beer menu, mostly bottles or cans, but much more diverse. The draft selection was just ok, but you should be able to find something good given the bottle and can selection. The menu also changed, similar products, but was on a double sided laminated piece of paper. I ordered the buffalo shrimp and they were really good. A lite breading and nice size shrimp kept the sauce on when you took a bite. The service was really good. We sat at a high top near the bar and the bartender came out to get our drinks and take our food orders. Known for their wings. We got a buffalo sampler platter. It had buffalo Shrimp (4), buffalo scallops (3), buffalo ears (3), buffalo tails (3) and buffalo wings (4). Was a nice size platter. Allowed us to try a little bit of all those buffalo items. You can choose your sauce for each item if you want. We went with mild for all. Everything was good. The scallops were a little fishy. You could tell they weren't fresh. Shrimp were a great size and not chewy. Cooked well. Wings were a little dry/overcooked. Great beer specials. $2 PBR drafts all day. $3 miller lite or coors lite drafts. Nightly specials as well. We went on a Friday night it was crowded and on a wait. Brought my son for the first time. It's a bit out of the way, but well worth it for some damn good wings. When we pulled in to the parking lot my son said dad we don't have a truck or a Jeep will they let us in? I laughed and said absolutely. We walked in and were greeted right away. Baseball and duck hunting were playing on the tv's "perfect" we ordered some fried pickles, fries, and of course 25 wings. All of the food came out fast and was cooked perfectly. The wings come how a wing should "whole, they don't cut the wing portion from the drum portion" sauce was amazing along with a perfectly crisp wing while still juicy inside. Been going to the Pic for over 25 years since living in South Jersey back then (going to Stockton College). Still travel over an hour from Central Jersey just for the food and wings here. My favorite sauce used to be hot and now it's spicy, only because my stomach can't take the hot like before lol (although I'll still have a bowl of hot here and there with all you can eat). Best wings I've ever had by far! Recently we go for other food like burgers, steak sandwiches, Buffalo shrimp, etc. which are also great! I ordered some wings for my draft night, I picked up my wings, walk two steps out the screen door area, look down at my bag, completely filled with hot sauce. A real "Piney" bar that happens to serve good food. Always loud, funny, and family-friendly. Surprising for a place in the middle of Shamong, they offer a number of vegetarian-friendly items. Pretty good on the tap situation as well, with some good local beers. Returned to the "Pic" which I used to frequent in the 80's, and it's hardly changed. Pretty nice to know they know what works and stick with it. Be aware, in the summer will get overrun with tourists on the way to the shore or on their way back from same. If planning a first visit, go when it's off-season and get a taste of the real south Jersey. read more

Great vibes here in terms of the people and staff. There are three different sections to the restaurant that I like to differentiate by west wing, bar (central), and east wing in my mind. Not an overly crowded place and the cool lounge spaces make it for a cool place for friend hangouts. Had a taste of their Wing Basket ($9.95 for 6) and I would give them a thumbs up. Not insanely crispy but not insanely soggy. Just the right level of balance and they were served in a relatively quick time frame. Also had the Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak ($9.50) which was super satisfying. Not too sure how or where they got their bread but I'm craving some more right now. My only complaint would be the wait. During the time I came in the place wasn't all so busy. There were well over ten tables free but they didn't let me get seated at a table because two people from the group (of just three) was missing. Waiting time came out to about an hour for a rainy and not so busy time. But overall I enjoyed my meal and had a good time here with some cool pals. read more

I had been going here for about two years now, and initially I would have rated it 4 stars out of 5: good food, okay ambience (quaint doesn't have to mean dilapidated), and terrific service - especially from Leslie, who rules over all like a benevolent queen. Recently though something has changed. Their daily specials have reduced hours, their wings occasionally come out undercooked or rank (someone didn't refrigerate them property), and whoever butchered those wings has gotten sloppy - with many a shattered bone. The last straw came today when I ordered my usual 6 wings and was served nothing less than an absolute insult. (Photo coming up.) Pic-A-Lilli was famous for serving both the wingette and the drumette attached, calling that one wing. Most places separate them and call that two wings. Today, I had six wings where all but one had shattered bone and were missing the drumette entirely (which is the best part, for most people). Now in the past when this happened, Pic-A-Lilli would just throw in an extra wing for every partial piece. It was fair enough. This time - nothing. Also, their so-called "home made bleu cheese dip" has hardly any bleu cheese in it. Panera gives you more than that in their salad dressing. Their celery should be harvested a little earlier too - it's way too stringy, tough, and tasteless. It's sad really. My only complaint about the food before was that their veggie sides were mushy and overcooked, and their steaks were a poor cut of meat. Everything else was fantastic. No more. read more

THE BEST WINGS IN JERSEY! What better way to spend a Wednesday night than gorging on all you can eat wings at the Pic! Their wings are fresh and hot and covered in some of the best buffalo sauce I have ever had! The Pic also gives you the WHOLE wing, like how every other pizza place and bar SHOULD do. I can usually eat about 4 bowls before I am full. Their cheesesteaks are also very good. Service is always quick and efficient. For $10, all you can eat wings at the Pic is money well spent! P.S. *Covid Review* I've been eating here for decades. Then this covid nonsense hit and changed everything. Outdoor dining isn't really my thing, but right now, it's the only thing. I visited on "reopening day" expecting nothing less then chaos. Somehow, it was like nothing changed. While the entire staff was in masks, rubber gloves, and scented like hand sanitizer, you can still see they were smiling under there. I'm not a huge mask Nazi, but it was comforting that everyone wore one, and correctly. If you're a little more on the cautious side than myself, you'll be very happy with how they handle everything. It was wild. Spraying down and cleaning every table, chair, AND umbrella (whoa) after every customer leaves. Paper disposable menus too. They went overboard, and that's pretty cool. You don't need another review how good the food is... That's a given. I can't wait for the inside to reopen, but for now, this is where it's at for outdoor dining. Thank you Pic crew! read more

Placed a large order for pick up. When picking up food they guaranteed everything was their. When opening bags realized that we were missing a few think doubled checked receipt and it was ordered. We called and they asked what we wanted to do and I said I will come back pick up the rest. They apologized up and down and could not understand why are order was Not complete. I used to drag my friends here regularly for late night bar food because I loved the Pic SO MUCH, but the last two times I've driven the 40 minutes out here have been huge disappointments. Really poor service with one mistake after another. This last time, our meals were served, but our orders were incomplete. The server forgot my friend's celery with her wings (it was specifically ordered and YES, coats extra), which took a grand total of 15 minutes. I was waiting for my crab soup, which i had to remind the server about when the appetizers AND meals were served. When I finally got it, 20 minutes after our meals were first served, it was ICE COLD. Completely inedible. It's sad to say, but I don't think I'll be back. Maybe it's for the best, as the moron at the table next to me was telling his friends, "Ya know, Shakespeare referenced the KKK in one of his plays." Stay in school, kids. read more

I have been waiting to come here for dinner for an extremely long time and finally made it. Of course I got the wings, because that is what they are know for and got the hot sauce. I will say they were good but the hot sauce is certainly hot. For me it became a bit much so I will not be getting the hot again but the wings were good nonetheless. They also have a Duclaw craft beer I love which made the night even better! The dessert here was also surprisingly good! The food here is certainly much higher quality than bar food. Don't let its location or parking lot of pickup trucks fool you, the food here is quality! I will certainly be retiring to explore the menu further and if you can make the trip, you should as well. The only reason I rated at 4 stars is because I had to wait 20minutes for a table and there was no true waiting area, which made for a bit crowded of a wait near the bar. read more

My father stopped at Pic-A-Lilli about 17 years ago, and my family has been semi-regulars here ever since. Last weekend I came here with my boyfriend and parents, my first time here in probably about 8-10 years. I was pretty blown away by how much they've improved over the last few years, yet still kept their local dive-bar charm! Their menu is MUCH larger than I remember.... (it's HUGE!) I don't eat chicken anymore, but I was ecstatic to see that they offer "Buffalo ......" options! For example, Buffalo Shrimp, Scallops, ONION RINGS... I instantly ordered up some Buffalo O's (onion rings) Their buffalo sauce is just as good as I remembered it... I enjoyed every drop of that sauce. The flavor drives me crazy. If you are really daring, ask for some "dust" on the side. It's a super spicy powder, and trust me - a little goes a LOOOONG WAY! As for the chicken, I always remembered these wings being some of the best I've ever had... My boyfriend who ate a bowl agreed, and added, "you can't find wings like these in california...." I also had a bowl of the Crab Soup... SO GOOD. Fresh, and flavorful... I also threw some dust into the soup... Even better! I *ALSO* ordered a crab cake sandwich. (hey, i was hungry.) You can definitely tell that this is a fresh crab cake sandwich, and not frozen and out of a box. The crab meat was juicy and delicious. I destroyed it - that crab cake didn't stand a chance against me. So - we've established that the food is awesome. The service. Very good!! When we were seated, the bartender took our drink order... She let us know that they were kind of busy so she'd be helping out... If they were busy, we didn't notice, because the food came out fast, and we were checked in on several times! Whenever we'd get close to the bottom of our beers, someone would be there to ask for a refill! At one point, we had three different employees ask us if we wanted another beer on the same glass... If that's not attentive, I don't know what is... Attentive, friendly, and down-to-earth... Perfect. I'm happy that I decided to revisit Pic-A-Lilli after so long of being away from it... Okay so this place has a special place in my heart anytime anyone talks about wings I ask if they have been here, hands down the best place I've ever been to in my life for wings (I get tails). If your into good food and haven't been here you are missing out. Perhaps you all should be featured on "diners drive ins and dives"? Side note I recently came here for my birthday dinner June 18 and my daughter got sick as soon as we sat down. Not sure who the young ladies were that were sitting next to us but you jumped up to help and so did the staff. I still feel terrible that this happened but it's life.
