After having my fill of seafood, my husband and I decided to give Piazza a try. I was very pleased both with the quantity and quality of my food. I ordered the bolognese pizza and the mixed greens salad with shaved parmesan. The pizza was hot and very flavorful. Contrary to other reviews, I thought the 12 inch size was perfect. I took about 1/2 of it back to our B&B. We ordered a bottle of the 2018 reserve Rioja which was quite good. My husband ordered the lasagna. He wished for more layers and more ricotta, but said it tasted good. With a lovely water view and attentive wait staff, I rate this place 5 of 5. read more

I first tried to come here on a Saturday and politely checked to see if they had space but was met with a rude woman saying we need to book in advance and walked off. Not even giving a chance to make a reservation for the next day. We returned the next morning to make a reservation for that night. The food was good but the service was really lacking. The waitress messed up the drink order and that was the last we saw her. We would have to grab a passing by waiter to get help. It took over 30 minutes to pay the bill - eventually we walked up to the bar to pay. It was a busy Sunday night so I brushed it off. We returned on a Thursday night and it was very quiet. The service was still slow and when they brought us water glasses they were smudged with muddy marks. read more

We were served by Rohit This was an extremely unpleasant experience. As soon as We entered the restaurant, he said kitchen closes within 10min, which is fine. We ordered food and asked some questions about the beer, he pounced on us and said you are really rude!???? Infact the whole time his behaviour was extremely rude and he even pointed his hand and fingers towards me while talking. Very argumentative, unprofessional behaviour. When I asked his name, he asked my name and threatened that he wont serve the food to me if I do not tell my name. The food was excellent but his behaviour was very bad! In the end he said that he is not threatened by any reviewed!!!! This did not end here He literally followed me around 400 mts to say " you are pathetic and he is here for so long, this is what Im teaching to my kids"!!!! BEAUTIFUL HARBOR VIEWS, GREAT SERVICE and DECENT FOOD! AMBIANCE & SERVICE: This place is great for having a aromatic dinner with view of the Oban harbor & that's what's allured us to this place. The server was friendly and was able to accommodate us to one of seats with the full bay area view even though we didn't have any reservation. FOOD: We ordered Fresh Caught COD fish over pasta and vegetarian pasta and a bottle of red wine to pair the food with. The pasta was creamy and everything was fresh and delicious. Overall, I would recommend this for both the amazing view and delicious meal! read more

This was a nice, not-too-expensive little Italian restaurant with a good view out over the harbor in Oban. The linguine was particularly tasty. It would be nice if they crammed slightly fewer tables into the space and furnished it in a way that made it seem less sterile. It was so bad an experience, we could only find it good for a laugh. From service to food, it was the bottom of the barrel. The wait staff is comprised of foreign born students, I suppose. Ask them anything about the food, and if you don't get an honest "I don't know", the answer you do get is not likely to be helpful. There is a swarm-style service, sort of hit or miss, mostly miss. They were generally pleasant, if not particularly helpful. The food was also laughably bad. I am not kidding here - the frozen pizza you could purchase at a nearby frozen foods store is undoubtedly vastly superior. The other dishes were also a joke. We decided to make the most of the experience, had some wine and some laughs while we would have otherwise been miserable had our only pleasure been reliant on food or service. read more

I wish I could provide a comprehensive review of my meal. Unfortunately, we were treated so rudely by the service staff that we decided to leave before ever ordering our meal. We were quickly seated, but told that we had 40 minutes to eat, as there was a reservation coming in for the table at that time. We agreed, and sat down, ready for a somewhat rushed meal. When the waiter asked us what we would like to drink, I began to ask for a glass of wine when he interrupted me to tell me he is busy and would send someone else to take care of us. Before I could say another word, he walked off. No one else came to the table for the next several minutes, and we both watched as he stood behind the bar chatting with one of the waitresses. We went ignored for several more minutes before deciding to take our business elsewhere. I'm appalled by this awfully rude service we experienced here, and will not be returning. read more

We popped in for a bite to eat and it was after 9pm so we well thought we were pushing our luck and they would tell us to head for a chippy instead but they seated us without a bother. We were given a window seat and had a lovely view of Oban at night. The place was clean and very bright and kind of reminded me of a Harry ramsdens/fast foody kind of place so I wasn't sure what to expect, somebody else has used the word clinical and I agree with them, if they softened the edges a bit it would be more of a date spot than a grab a bite to eat spot. We had had quite a big lunch and whilst I was hungry I wasn't starving and neither was the boy. He just went straight for a main of pasta and I had the antipasti salad. The boys pasta was delicious and it was one of those deceptively large portions, the sauce was tasty and the pasta was well cooked. My salad with dill dressing was delicious, I usually ask for dressing on the side and forgot this time, there was just enough and the flavour was delicate and delicious and really complimented the cured meats. The bread was crusty on the outside and deliciously fluffy on the inside and tasted really good. The boy had a beer and I had a Kir Royale made with prosecco and the bill came in at about £24! Which I think is really reasonable for good well made food and alcoholic drinks. This place has been added to our list of places to pop into next time :-) they only get 4 instead of a 5 of the clinicalness/Harry ramsdens feel. read more

Overlooking Oban Bay, this is a great place to watch the rivulets of rain streaming down the full-height windows. It's tall, with a large mezzanine, contemporary and therefore bright, and on a nicer day the views of the harbour are pretty good. The staff are bright, young things too so the service is quick and friendly, but how about the food? Well on this occasion I ordered a Diavolo pizza while my partner ordered just a minestrone soup. She didn't want to eat too late so wanted something light. Luckily, at the last moment, I called the waitress back and asked for a "side" of the starter Funghi Farciti - mushrooms filled with blue cheese, parmesan and breadcrumbs. It's just as well, frankly as a main the pizza was really pretty small, not particularly expensive but if I hadn't had the foresight to order a "side" I'd have left hungry. The pizza itself was thin crust, not a great base but not bad either, the toppings were quite generous and it had a nice, comfortable kick. The mushrooms came with a basic tomato sauce, but were pretty tasty. Oban is blessed with some great food and this place isn't my favourite restaurant, but it is not bad at all. read more

Very accomodating spot with an excellent view of the harbor as you watch folks disembark from sailing excursions. We had the creamy baked haddock with gluten free pasta, thin crust, spicy diavola pizza and side salad to share. Enjoyed the pairing with a bottle of their nero d'avola vino priced nice. Altogether quite fairly priced and filling after enjoying the distillery tour. We noticed a homemade tiramisu that was available bit had no room for more. Food was tasty though not fancy hence only 4 stars but is what we were looking for. Would come again when visiting the area with other restaurants. read more

Piazza is a wonderful place to eat, with a nice View of the harbour. We didn't have reservations, but the waiter gave us an hour, which is plenty for us. This place is packed! Anyway, we started off with smocked salmon and garlic bread, the latter being not very tasty. The salmon was good, really smokey taste. As an entree i had the haddock with spaghetti (they advertised with tagliatelle, but i love both) which was wonderful! Juicy fish and perfectly cooked pasta. They will come around with the pepper mill and parmesan, do not pass up if you like seasoning. The mrs had a 4 cheeses pizza, which she really liked. Thin crust and lots of cheese. A stronger cheddar would have been nice however. As we only had an hour we were feeling kind of rushed and i saw another couple have a huge amount of tiramisu, so we descided to ask for the Bill and have dessert elsewhere. All in all good food and quick service. Waitresses were standing in the back looking bored sometimes, but that's really the only thing that bugged me. read more

Sorry, this was a fail. We had no problems getting in, but service was painfully slow and the food is barely Italian. I ordered a pizza, which had little flavor and when I asked for pizza or marinara sauce (something!) on the side they offered me ketchup. My wife and I stopped in here last night around 6pm. 30 minutes later, it was packed. We shared their antipasti starter which was pretty good. A little too much olive oil over it for my taste but my wife thought it was just fine. She had the penne rustica and I had the peppers and sausage. Both were good and just enough. We found this restaurant right on the harbour in Oban quite by chance and we had a great meal here. The food was good, arrived quickly and the portions were generous without being too big. There was a good range of pizzas, pastas and other dishes and the range of starters was also extensive. We chose a bottle of the house red which was very drinkable and reasonably priced. On the ferry from Kerrera Island I asked our pilot for a restaurant recommendation in Oban. He enthusiastically recommended Piazza and I do too. The special was poached Haddock over linguine and it was excellent. The pizzas others were getting looked tasty also. Sittling outside was a pleasure in the fine weather and the interior seating looked to be busy and family-friendly. A bit hard to find, but worth it! read more
