Above £8.90 Large, below £6 Regular size haddock and chips
    Chun P.

Of the four main Fish N Chippys in central Oban, this one has the least ambiance, but also has lowest prices and the most "Obanese" locals eating here. Easy to see why, as the food here is delicious and cheap! £6 is a great bargain for a regular sized fish n chips serving, which is quite large in itself, and £8.90 for the larger portion of fish. Those prices are for sit in! But they do charge an extra 30 pence for two packets of Heinz tartar sauce...I'll still leave as a 5 Star review.

I don't like fried food- but this was absolutely delicious! Definitely worth a visit when in Oban. Highly recommend.

Great food! Cash only but there are ATMs around town. We enjoyed the banter with the guy behind the counter.

Great haddock filets. Quick and reasonably. Chips a little undercooked. Very reasonable. Great. Staff.

I ordered the mixed seafood platter, large portions and well-prepared. A nice wine list, too. We were very satisfied with our choice for dinner. Except I walked over there and found nothing, just open waterfront. Whoops. Fortunately, I walked right past this other open restaurant that also had fish & chips at a reasonable price, and more importantly, HAGGIS! I can tell you now, they should rename to Fish, Chips, and Haggis. Because this fried haggis sausage is da bomb. I think when they named that one sandwich "da bomb", they were wrong. It's this. Delicious haggis, perfectly deep fried, just the right amount of breading. Classic, timeless, Scotland. The dinner includes plenty of chips, light fried, not dripping with oil - some of the best I've ever had. So get that, not the single. In the end, the only downside is it's takeout-only. No room inside. Great service, great selection, great food. Do stop in when you come to Oban to head out to the wonderful North West isles. (Do all of this. Trust me. It's wonderful here.)

The interior is draped in contemporary decor, and there is scenic water views overlooking the harbor. The holiday lights set the mood. The food was delicious and the seafood was fresh. I had the mussels and sea bass. Both were perfectly cooked. I did not have dessert because they were out of the pudding that I wanted. I would definitely dine here again for good food and drinks. Hopefully the service would be warmer on my next visit. The staff was not welcoming when approached.

It's a very austere interior -- all glass -- but intentional for the lights out views of the working fishing harbor. Of course we had to have the oysters! They were very deep cups; meaty; and creamy, unlike any oyster I've had before. For American sensibilities, no cocktail sauce, or mignonette, which disappointed my husband, but I was fine with it. Lots of lemon is the Scottish way! We also had one of their specials, the lobster & langoustine cocktail, which, again for American sensibilities, was lobster & langoustine bits on lettuce, with a DELICIOUS rose dressing, not the meat in a martini glass with sauce.... Our dining partners had beautiful, plump mussels, which they shared and devoured; another had the open faced salmon, also scraped clean from the plate. We returned the next day for a reservation I'd made online, only to find we weren't on the list. Since reservations in Scotland are more than recommended, we asked for help from our desk agent, who said this happens at eeusk a good bit. So, please be sure to have an email confirmation, or simply call/stop in yourself to make your resy. Cheers!
