This was my first time to Piazza. We came as a group of five. They literally have the best French fries I've ever had in my life, my friend said you can tell that the food is fresh. We were in town and did carry out so I cant testify to the server experience, but the food is amaaaaaazing! First of all, my husband who is allergic to gluten had his pic of gf pizza, pasta, or ravioli entree! This never happens! I sampled the ravioli, Greek salad, Sicilian pizza, and breadsticks with dipping sauce. All were delicious! The pizza dough is thick but not chewy. The consistency honestly reminded me of when I was in Italy and the dough is thin and fluffy, light sauce, you could almost cut it with scissors like they do in the old country! Was recently visiting family in town and they suggested we all go there. That was some of the best tasting pizza I've ever had. The sausage was especially impressive. Only a couple weeks old, this new gem in East Asheville ROCKS. The wood-fired pizzas....simply beyond perfect. As everyone knows, it's all about the crust. Theirs is perfectly rustic...chewy inside, crispy outside - between whoever's making the dough and working their wood-fired oven, this stuff was incredible. Couple that with the fresh, beautifully balanced toppings, and we left wishing we could have pizza for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner! Other dishes offered as well, many family style. We had the Greek salad (again, perfectly done!) as well as pasta with various sauce toppings. True test is always the marinara - theirs is bright, fresh, and exactly the way you want a traditional, homemade marinara to be. And then there are desserts...you know you're in the South when you can finish off a meal at a pizza place with kickin' apple pie a la mode. The other desserts sound fabulous too - Lime in the Coconut Cake, Seven Layer Chocolate Cake - but we could only do so much! To cap off our excitement, the prices were unbelievably reasonable. Salads for two around $7, 10" pizzas around $8, 14" around $14. The place was packed when we there (Friday night around 6) - can't imagine what it'll be like when the word spreads! I went again last night, so I thought I'd give an update. I refused to try the pizza based on previous experience, but most in my party did and loved it, particularly the Pollo pizza. I wanted to get a salad, but ended up trying the salmon with roasted veggies. The glaze on the salmon was great and it was actually better than some of the other fish dishes I'd had at other restaurants recently. Veggies were great too. I was told the salads (Soprano, Greek, etc.) and desserts were also good. Service was very helpful and fast. Just note they close a little early so just be aware if you are there for a late dinner. I've been here for lunch twice, and I must say Piazza is a very good bang for your buck. One slice of pizza, a zesty Greek salad (hold the olives), and a drink only set me back about eight dollars. My husband and I brought our youngest with us for dinner. We had the Greek salad and the family pasta bowl, followed by a cannoli. The salad was big and fresh with just the right amount of feta and dressing. We got the marinara and the frutti di mare sauces with our pasta. The cannoli was lovely. All of it was reasonably priced. Don't have a bad thing to say about this place. Service was great out food came quick and was delicious. Had the Calamari app and all I can say is be prepared to share it's huge. It was crispy and not over cooked. The pizza was great as well. The best thing about it is they will split any pizza on the same pie for you (tues is 10$ any large specialty pie)! My lady and I can now each have whatever we want without having to by two. Very pleased and will most likely be out regular tues dinner spot. read more

Ate there last night for first time. Started with a putative Caesar salad, that in no way resembled a real Caesar salad. This was some lettuce w. a few pieces of what looked like American cheese and a tasteless dressing. Then had a pasta dish with shrimp marinara sauce which was fairly tasteless and a pizza which was OK but no more than that. Great first experience at Piazza. We are out of towners and won't get to go very often but enjoyed our trip out. We went on a Tuesday ($10 14" classic pizzas *normally $15)). We were seated immediately but the crowd definitely picked up after we arrived. The waiter was prompt with a water vase and two glasses so we instantly had water. We got a small Greek salad (which was great for 2 people) and enjoyed it. Very light and delicious. The pizza we got was a 14" Rustica which has Mozzarella, marinara sauce (it was lighter tasting than your normal pizza sauce which made it better), pepperoni and basil. The pepperoni was sliced very thin but had a kick and was tasty. The pizza is thin which is what I prefer. The wood fire oven being out in the open was a nice touch. The art was very abstract and cool to look at. Will definitely come back if we visit Asheville again and recommend all others to go give it a try! read more

Piazza has become our go to place for pizza in Asheville. We've eaten there half a dozen times and never had less than a great experience. The pizza is wood fired and so fresh and delicious. Our favorites are the Four Tenors and the Rustica. The salads (shareable) are fresh and plentiful. Lots of beer and wine choices...we're always too full for dessert, but they look decadent. Prices are very reasonable. Location is a little off the beaten path, but imo that can be a good thing. Go to Piazza next time you want excellent pizza in Asheville. read more

Killer good pizza at Piazza. I've tried several: rustica, Greek Wedding (my fav), shrimp pesto, four tenors (a cheese pizza), Margherita, and the loaded pizza whose name has slipped my mind. Don't know why I ever leave Fairview for family friendly dining. This place is the place to go for pizza, pasta and salad. The wood fired pizza is an art that Reza has perfected. All of them are worth trying. The HUGE family size salads are perfect and the house wine is delicious. Outdoor dining is an option on warm nights but the inside is so cute you may prefer to be inside. Leave room for desserts because they have the best I've had in Asheville. Seasonally homemade pies perfect for splitting come in a small cast iron skillet made to order. Order when you get your food though since it takes 20 minutes to prepare.
