I came here with coworkers one day for lunch. The menu includes some more Americanized Asian dishes for those who aren't fond of authentic stuff. One of my coworkers got the Sweet and Sour Chicken and said it was the best he had ever had. The rest of us ordered more authentic dishes, such as pho. The table has lots of ingredients you can add to your pho to make it tastier. We asked and the waiter told us what everything was. I ended up adding hoisin, chili paste, and sesame oil I think. I really enjoyed all that I added so I'll definitely have to try and find out what it was so I can ask for it if I ever get anything to go from here. I really enjoyed the chicken fried rice I ordered for us to share. It was very good. The egg rolls were also delicious. The food here is affordable and they make the larger Bahn Mi Sandwiches. The Pho is good for the price.

Had to come back for another round of their delicious banh mi. The pho was decent, though not as flavorful as I remembered. The food overall is solid, which brought me back for a second time. But the restaurant itself feels very outdated and not the most comforting place to dine in. Service isn't exactly warm, and there doesn't seem to be much effort to improve or refresh the space. I get the whole "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality, but after visiting twice, I think I'd rather go somewhere else for pho if I'm looking to sit down and enjoy a cozier, more welcoming atmosphere. That said, I'm still giving it a solid 4 stars because the food is still solid, I'm not gonna take away from that. When we arrived, there was one light that lit up the parking lot and it looked very sketchy but we were there so we decided to continue to eat there. There's also an oriental store nearby so that was neat. It seemed they were short staff and only family was working so service was slow but the food was delish! Pho: 3/5, it was good. Broth was typical. Fried rice: 5/5! So good! Banh mi: 5/5, yes yes yes. Although service was short staffed, we got our food in a timely manner and I enjoyed our time there. I would definitely return! The moment I asked for plates to share the food and they weren't matching, I knew the food will be great! An authentic Vietnamese family restaurant with amazing reasonably priced food. I ordered the rare beef soup with soft tendons, a delicacy for exotic food lovers, since the tendons texture can be challenging for uninitiated dinners. The broth was very flavorsome, and the herbs served fresh on the side as per custom and added to the broth and noodles at the table. Excellent! Cleanliness: Ok this place is super dingy. A previous review mentioned the bucket under the urinal in the men's bathroom and my husband confirmed that bucket is still there. Also it has a 100 rating for health score but I can't imagine it's accurate because it looks super dirty and sketchy there. The walls also had food splatter stains that never seemed to have been cleaned off. Service: it's a Vietnamese restaurant so good service is never expected. We tried to order the banh uot and he quickly said that wasn't available. So we tried to order the chicken wings and he said that wasn't available either so I said "ok then what do you have?" At that point he quickly yelled something to the back of the kitchen and all of a sudden chicken wings were now available. He also didn't have much patience so he expected us to order immediately. Chicken wings: this is not Vietnamese spicy wings. It's more like Chinese style. Usually Vietnamese wings are crispy. These were covered in a sticky sweet chili sauce that made the wings soggy Vermicelli noodle bowl with grilled pork and egg roll: it was ok. Nothing special. The pork was ok not bad and not great either. The noodles were a bit undercooked. It was perfectly edible but I wouldn't come here for that again Pho: so I think this is why people like this place. I have to admit their pho broth is good. Clear broth with good beef bone flavor and aroma. DO NOT EAT HERE! SHADY OWNER I am currently boycotting this restaurant. My husband's original bill was $40 including tip and when we checked our statement it showed an EXTRA $10 TIP! He spoke with the owner and he changed the tip amount without consent, because he said he had forgotten to charge for a couple items. Unprofessional and illegal!!! I miss Atlanta and getting really good Bahn Mi in Memphis, but Pho So 8 is one of the better I have had. SO much is about the bread and theirs is fantastic, wonderfully airy with a crisp thin outside. I got the large which is good for a couple meals or people. I am totally grossed out and disgusted! After I was finished eating, I went to the facilities to find some relief. There is a bucket of piss underneath one of the urinals! A freaking bucket full of piss! It was almost overflowing and needed attention. The bad thing about this particular bucket of piss is that I forgot about noticing it 11 months ago and now nearly a year later, there is still a bucket of piss underneath the urinal! That's plenty of time to have a urinal repaired. The man with the mole on his chin may not recognize me, but he tried to hire me once and he wanted to cheat the company I work for by hiring me "on the side" as if the price I demand exceeds the value of my service. What an insult to assume my work is sub par and deserves a cheap, low price. Needless to say, I refused to do any work for them. I've always paid the full price he commands, so why shouldn't he pay for maintenance and upkeep on his building? This is the reason I suspect that there is still a bucket of piss under the urinal that he has neglected to repair. Not only this, but there are two urinals in the restroom. It would not be difficult to prevent people from pissing in the broken fixture if it were simply taped off or barricaded. Don't put a damned bucket under it and allow grown men to continue to piss in it! I only hope that this collection of piss isn't intentional. It might be a secret ingredient. You should be pleased to know that I relieved myself in the other fixture to avoid making any donations of my own. I went to pay and I told him his bucket was full and how sick and disgusting it was. I said it loud enough that others could hear. He suddenly forgot the English language but I could tell how embarrassing it was for me to announce it. When he opened, we had a good chat. He's really a nice guy and a hard worker. He has a nice family too. This is inexcusable though. He took our orders and the little bitty lady delivered them to another table, but brought them to us as soon as she sat them down there. I had recommended a bun to my friend and he ordered by number so I didn't realize his order was wrong. He didn't know any better and started eating it. Then the owner man ran over and took it from him and headed to the kitchen to bring his correct order. I will never know if they served his soup to someone else, but I do know my soup was delivered to the wrong table. Every other time I've ordered crab Rangoon, he has refused to make it. It's the first freaking item on the menu for crying out loud! No other restaurant has ever refused to make this. Theirs is rather good. It reminds me of cheesecake. The pho was 5 stars. If there is anything better than Pho on a rainy day (when you're feeling under the weather both mentally and physically) I have not found it. Pho is the cure for almost anything. Which is why, one sad & rainy day, I decided to pay this place a visit. Walking through the door, you are greeted by an automated doorbell instead of a real person. I came before the lunch rush and didn't stand around very long before being seated with a menu. Later, I saw people walking in and just sitting down wherever. I think any way you want to do it is a-ok here. I got the Pho Tai with meatballs and the spring rolls. Next time, I would probably skip on the order of spring rolls as they were pretty unsatisfactory. But, the Pho did not disappoint! The broth was unbelievably delicious and almost too good to make any additions (like basil, lime, hoisin, or sriracha, all of which I always add to my Pho). If you like meatballs at all, definitely ask to add them to your Pho! It's like $2 extra but worth it. Is this place the best for Vietnamese in Memphis? Probably not. The service could use some work (mine was prompt but that doesn't seem to be the status quo here). The location itself is not the best, but the restaurant is clean and tidy. The one thing I wish they would get rid of is that automated doorbell saying, "Hello! Welcome!" anytime someone opens the door. Absolutely delicious. I wish I didn't eat my meal so quickly bc I would've liked to take a picture of how nice it looked. I tried a vermicelli bowl, chicken pho, and spring rolls. All three were absolutely delicious, and I plan to go again very soon. The ordering was made easy because all of the options have a number instead of having to pronounce another language.
