I was next to be seen and there was 2 people after me, but they were taking before me... and they were walkins. It seems like you don't get called back unless you get up to the front desk to complain about how long you've been waiting and how much longer. I don't even want to give this place stars. Made an appointment for my 94 yr old mother for a tb test and an ekg. I verified with 3 people at the Elgin location that the ekg test was available to her. I explained that it was required (along with numerous other tests) by a skilled care facility that we are trying to get my mom into. The first appointment went ok except for waiting 1 hour in the lobby to be seen WITH an appointment. Then we go back 2 days later(Thursday 8/12/20201) and have a 3:30 appointment and are not taken back in the room until 5:15 pm Was told there were 3 positive covid tests that day and they were behind due to having to sanitize the rooms and the wait would be about 30 minutes. It was 1 hour and 45 minutes. Big difference. So we are then told that mom cannot get the ekg because it needs to be done by her primary care physician or someother reason which made no sense. I mentioned being told by their staff members 3x that she could get it as long as their doctor could examine her. I told them I was fine with that. I further asked then who gets ekg tests here and what are the conditions for getting one? The girl walked out about 3x to ask if it could be done and was told NO by someone there. By this time my mom (who can barely walk and I brought there in a wheelchair) is very upset as was I and I said "she is sitting right next to the ekg machine" I don't understand why this test cannot be performed. The girl was upset as she had no answer for me. My mom has to have a second TB test (as required by the rules at the facility) and the girl said I should make another appointment for it at the front desk. I kindly said no thanks, I'd never come here again. I made an appointment at an entirely different place and will have the ekg and the tb test done there. This place needs to get their act together and don't make promises they can't keep. read more

My husband saw lesli frank and was raving about her! I decided to make an appointment and was told she was to be working the day my appointment was. We waited about 1.5 hours after my appointment time , when I finally got into a room I was told lesli was not in the office, which left me discouraged. I waited another 40 minutes in the room, where I was greeted by a very rude nurse practitioner who pretty much made me feel guilty for coming to the facility and "wasting" her time. I totally understand and get how busy they are but the information coming out of her mouth left me baffled. I was asking questions and I would get attitude. I didn't even receive a full exam, was told I could end up in icu and die. This was the worst experience I have gone through at a facility. Unless you are seeing Lesli, I do not recommend this practice. read more

I brought my teenage son in for a nasty foot injury. We were seen right away and treated with kindness and respect. Sarah Hence the tech and Stephanie Donahoe the PA were efficient and sensitive in their case and knew what they were doing. 13 stitches and a diagnosis of 3 broken bones later, he left with pain management strategies and antibiotics. Lesli Frank, PA was amazing. She was compassionate, patient, and she really listened to me. She asked me questions and took time to allow me to expand on my answers so she could get to the bottom of why I was there. I have experienced providers who quickly dismiss you and assume they know what is wrong without actually listening - Lesli could teach them a thing or two. Lesli's bedside manner, amazing attitude, and kind demeanor made me feel like I was important, my health/comfort mattered, and that I could/did contribute to my treatment plan. She is a stellar provider and I cannot sing her praises enough. read more

Most of the staff was super friendly, only complaint was the long wait but i understand they are one of the only places in the area with rapid COVID testing. I made an appointment for 1pm, arrived at 12:45 (was asked to come 15 min early) and didn't go inside until about 1:20 and didn't see anyone until 1:45, left about 2:15 after they closed. The Physician assistant I saw, Lesli Frank was SOOOO sweet, she really saved the experience for me! Test took 15 minutes as promised and I left with all my questions answered. When coming in to get a vaccine, the tech almost gave me the wrong vaccine! I shared with her it was the wrong one. She looked at her chart again and confirmed, "it says here you're getting an MMR" despite me specifically asked for the Varicella vaccine. Once she administered the correct vaccine, she said I was all set. In my research, I read that it is recommended to get 2 doses. I asked her about this and she had to confirm with her boss. She then responded you should probably come back in a month. I went to the front to make my appointment. Fast forward a month and they don't have my appointment in the system. I came early for my appointment and was stuck waiting 40 minutes. Imagine if I wasn't educated on what I needed or if there was a language barrier. I would have left thinking I was vaccinated from chicken pox, but instead she would have injected me with MMR. That is terrifying! Lessons from the story is do your research, confirm what they are injecting into you, discuss next steps, and ask them to confirm the appointment set...maybe by looking at their computer screen. Terrible service both times. When I showed up for an appointment that was not in the books, they didn't take any steps to make it right. No probing questions were asked to identify the root cause and make sure the issue doesn't happen again in the future. read more

They seem competent at first, however when I asked for steroid or Cortizone they referred me to an over-the-counter nasonex. By the way Dr., nasonex is not over the counter it's prescription. Nasocourt is over the counter. Typical go in to get some relief from a doctor and they tell you they can't help you. Go to the pharmacy ($15)first and ask them. Far more helpful than these idiots in the doc box. $300 later. read more

I took my mom here today at 11:30am. For some reason their door was stuck and was locked when we arrived - but they were open though. After about a minute of waiting outside a nurse came to open the door and kept it propped open with a trash can. Our entire visit took about an hour and a half for a cough. Staff was nice, office was clean, and the staff answered all of her questions, I just thought the wait time was a bit long. read more

I had called ahead about a quick blood test for an employer. The lady answering the phone was very helpful and pleasant. When I arrived there i had to wait about 20 minutes before anyone would speak to me. All the customers were lined up outside with no place to sit. Once checked in I had to wait some more. Once brought back into examine room for a simple blood test I had to wait some more. Then it took 3 different people to draw my blood. I had suggested to the staff how to draw the blood to make it easier ( I have difficult due to deep veins.) One of the staff told me to be quiet and let her do her job. She didn't want to hear my suggestion to make it easier. They stuck me multiple times. The third lady was very rude and disrespectful. Instead, he processed someone else's information who was #3 on the wait list and called them in before me, even though I was supposed to be next up to go in. I always feel to work in the care industry you should have a certain level of compassion or kindness or at least act like you do. I had an appointment or a reserved space and I got there about 20 minutes before that. I didn't get in until about 30 minutes after my time. Once in I gave all of the details of my sickness to a nurse? I'm still unclear who she was she took my blood pressure and swabbed me for the flu and said the assistant would be with me in a few minutes and that one or two people were before me. I am 100% sure they forgot about me. About and hour and a half later FINALLY the physicians assistant came in. Asked me the same questions so clearly didn't read the chart. After I answered followed by a quick exam she seemed pretty unsure of what was wrong leaving me very annoyed very sick and not clear on what I was to do for treatment. Seriously biggest waste of time. I was better off just sticking with rest and fluids. Ugh just never been so annoyed at any type of health care place before. This facility is the farthest thing from an immediate care. IF YOU WANT TEST RESULTS IN A REALISTIC TIMEFRAME--DO NOT VISIT THIS IMMEDIATE CARE! I could have waited the weekend to see my primary care doctor and received the blood test results back in half the time. 8 days later and I still have heard nothing from the office. Staff also does not care for urgency when speaking with them over the phone. Apparently the staff does not know when their office manager is in the office either. Red flags! My employer sent me here to get some blood work and a drug test. The lady who screened me for COVID before entering the door was very professional and nice. The ladies sitting at the desk were also polite with checking me in however, I waited a long time to be seen. I was the first one to get there and two other people needing the same thing came in after me yet somehow they called them before me. Super annoying. In total I waited around 45 minutes before being seen. I got a call the following day saying my blood work had been lost! How do you lose bloodwork? Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience. Definitely have to agree with a lot of the other reviews. Go to a better location if you can. read more

I almost didn't visit this location due to the poor reviews but honestly it's well worth visiting for your immediate health care needs. I scheduled an apt online and showed up early in case I'd have to fill out paperwork as I was a new patient. Everyone that worked there was friendly, I didn't experience one sour or disrespectful worker. I was called back almost immediately following filling out my paperwork. They listened to my previous medical history and ran some tests and prescribed me medicine after giving a thorough inspection. Luckily, they also had that medicine purchasable in their office so I didn't have to travel to some other pharmacy around town. There is also a sign at their front desk that explains that some people may come for different reasons which is why they may call another patient back before you but that they call back in chronological order except for special cases. read more

I have been to Physicians Immediate Care - Elgin a couple of times when timing was inconvenient for my GP, a weekend or urgent issue that needed xray's right away. I was surprised how quickly things move along from check in to diagnosis. The staff is friendly and efficient in handling paperwork and this most recent visit included an xray when the tech heard what my issue was so I didn't have to see the Dr., wait for xray, wait for diagnosis. It was seamless and meds were waiting at my pharmacy within 15 minutes. They can also fill meds at the clinic if you want. They also post their non-insurance pricing so you can compare or if you are using a negotiated insurance plan. Thanks for taking good care of myself and my family! read more

This is my husband's 3rd visit here. He received care for bronchitis and after meds he still was not well. Called for another appointment and was given one at 4. They said we could arrive earlier which we did. Name was on the patient board and finally made it #1 and then it disappeared and he was never called. We asked twice and they said it was not there and this was after one hour. Couldn't explain why or how. At 4:20 they finally called him after we complained again. Other walk-ins were seen and had left. Also a sign needs to be posted in English and Spanish so that people aren't FaceTiming, watching videos and having conversations in full volume. read more

I had a scheduled appointment and still didn't see a Dr. after over an hour of waiting. There was no one else in the waiting room so it did not appear to be busy. I was placed and left in the treatment room with no communication. I wouldn't know about the quality of treatment since I walked out in frustration. A patient's time is just as valuable as the Doctor's time. Realize that patients likely have to take time off of work to accommodate the Doctor's schedule. Always treat your patients with respect & communicate with them instead of leaving them to sit in a cell like room for extended periods of time. The staff is rude! Let me start off by saying 90% of my experience here was pleasant. I was in and out which I like, there was no long wait and I didn't sit in the office for 2 hours waiting on the doctor after the nurse. Staff was friendly. My only concern was the doctor. He was very short and almost rude with me. He walked in, looked at my throat and ears (I have a sore throat) and walked right back out after telling me to wait for my strep test. Then 10 min later he told me it was negative but he's putting me on 10 day antibiotics and literally told me this as he walked out the door. I was extremely pleased with my choice of care after the cat bite. I didn't want to go to the hospital and waste 4-5 hours there. From the time I entered, I don't think I waited 3 minutes! I was taken care of immediately! Everyone was so pleasant, friendly, and helpful. From the front desk girls to Emily and Lisa, they really cared. They all knew that cat bites are nothing to mess with... no one ever wants to get medical care, but when a situation determines that you need Immediate care, this center was the best. Everyone was so professional, kind and thorough, I would choose Physician's Immediate Care in Elgin to be my personal doctor if I could. I would never hesitate going back for care if needed and I would also recommend this facility to everyone. Professional, respectful and kind staff... you don't get that everywhere. I've (unfortunately) been to many doctors offices, hospital ERs, and Urgent care clinics, and without a doubt my experience here was one of the best I've had! From what I can see, the bad reviews are coming mainly from long waits or faulty technology. Everyone was friendly and one of the nurses even went as far as leaving the building to hand my sweater to me that I had left in the room (it's the little things that make a difference, right?). The doctor seemed to have genuine concern over my issues, listened very well, asked questions to be thorough (and let me answer them thoroughly), and even basically listened to a full history of my health problems! This, I've come to find out, is very unusual even for primary care docs to do. He didn't dismiss anything or make me feel like I was crazy (which I've had happen before). The exam was thorough and he took the time to explain things. He didn't rush through anything. If I could see this doctor as a primary care physician I would, but he did give me some referrals. Due to the locations and severity of my pain and accounting for the recent infection I had just gotten over, he recommended emergency care. If I had anything bad to say at all about my experience, it would be that the ER he mentioned was so far on the opposite end of the spectrum! Yes, I did have a relatively short wait time since nobody was waiting when I arrived. But long wait times are to be expected at UC and the ER. The have limited resources and can't give quality care if they have everyone in and out in 15 minutes. Sometimes people just get lucky. And, if someone who came in after you is having severe breathing problems and you came in because you might have strep, that other person should be taken back first. Someone gave a bad review for a computer glitch that resulted in insurance not processing, but this would be out of the staffs' hands. It happens where I work, too, and people don't seem to understand that technology sometimes fails. The issue may have even been the insurance companies computer. Normally, you can save your receipt and send it to insurance for reimbursement. I get that it is frustrating, especially when your sick or injured, but it really has nothing to do with the facility. Great health care experience! Will go again if needed! I can definitely understand why they have such positive Google reviews! read more

We went there this evening for the first time. I was impressed with how friendly everyone was it was refreshing compared to the last urgent care we used. Everyone was very professional and we were never made to feel like we were inconveniencing the staff by seeking medical attention. They apologized that we had to wait while they sent our daughters X-ray out to a specialist for a second opinion. The entire 1.5hour experience was positive. Would definately recommend to others and return in the event of another "emergency". read more
