New to the Chicago area, and had been having a horrible morning of stomach pain/vomiting (sorry to share that part) but had no idea where to go seeing as I hadn't been established with a primary care physician in town yet. So we turned to yelp. Called Physicians ahead of time and they said sure, come on in. No wait, went right in after filling out paperwork and they were thorough with their questions and tests, did blood work and tried to talk me through what I was going through. Even though it was going to be a few days before results came back, the doctor was very caring and personable, and wrote me a prescription on the spot - and gave me two doses to go home with. Unfortunately as I was leaving I couldn't keep the medicine down, but the doctor to her credit rushed right in, rubbed my back and comforted me (what a welcome surprise) and sent me to the nearest ER so I could get IV fluids. Would've given five stars if they had been able to treat me right there, I find it weird they couldn't give me fluids - they are urgent care after all.... but they were very friendly and helpful and that's a lot to be said when you're feeling so crappy, a little kindness goes a long way. read more

I went on a Saturday morning thinking I had bronchitis (after being home sick for a week). I was seen after waiting only about 5 minutes. What to expect: Easy to get to; parking on site; clean with big waiting room. I only waited 5 minutes to be seen by the doctor. First i saw the nurse who took my vitals and details on my symptoms - she was very gentle and sweet. Then the doctor came in (again within 5 minutes), answered all my questions and prescribed medication. Third, another nurse comes in with the prescription, and answers any questions about the whole experience. And you're on your way. The part that impressed me is they called a few days later to see how I was doing, and when I had questions the doctor called me back within 30 minutes. I called again today (almost 2 weeks later) since I'm not 100% better, and they will have the doctor call me back. Excellent follow up service. They made me feel cared for because they care. Everyone I've spoken to there in person or on the phone has been professional and pleasant. read more

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Physicians Immediate Care. I usually go to the one in the loop, but the Six Corners office has better parking, so I thought I'd try it out. The wait was short, the receptionist was nice, but the doctor was really unpleasant. He didn't spend more than two minutes with me. He argued with me about an Amoxicillin allergy I never said I had. As he was half way out the door, I asked him if I could have a prescription for an asthma medication that had lapsed. He mumbled some kind of "sure, sure" and then wrote the wrong prescription. I know working on a Sunday morning sucks, but c'mon. Have the courtesy to listen to your patient. read more

I've been going there for years. I tore my ACL and and received relatively inexpensive care (I have good insurance). This summer I jammed my finger playing softball and against my better judgment went in to have them take a look at it. They charged me for a "repair of a finger tendon" it was $319.51 after insurance. How is it possible they examined me for an ACL tear and charged me $15 and then go and charge me $319.51 for putting a splint on my finger? I called them let them know that there was no repair of the tendon my finger still won't extend like it used to. It's still crooked. I wouldn't mind paying if they had actually fix my tendon. I probably need surgery but I'm afraid to go to the doctor because I don't have money to burn. Avoid this place and just visit your regular doctor. I was a loyal customer. Two weeks ago I woke up with a mysterious bump under my chin. I started freaking out. I was trying to make an appointment with a doctor later on in the day, but they were unable to see me and referred me to Physicians Immediate Care. I came in and filled out paper work and payed my deductible. About 10 min later I was called and the nurse asked me what was wrong. About 5 minutes later the doctor came in checked me out and prescribed me some antibiotics. I was out of there in under 40 minutes. Now that's good! People always sit at the doctors office for hours. He essentially acts as my primary care Doctor, in that he is able to handle any medical issue or illness that I present him. I had been suffering from a terrible cough which I had gone to various nurse practitioners and not one of them could give me something to make it go away. Saw this location online signed up online and when I got there process was fast. Doctor gave me some meds and I was out the door and feel way better! Doctor was really nice! Yeah before you sign-up ask if you will be seeing an ACTUAL DR. because there are little to no doctors at these "Physicians Immediate Care" chains just PA's playing doctor and I'd bet 98% of the reviewers good or bad who reference that they saw a DR dont even realize that they didnt see a doctor. Its Pretty dishonest and shady if you ask me. Also the PA's that a have encountered there are dangerously lacing in abilities and complete and utter hacks. read more

Service was ok and reasonably prompt. I am unhappy with the cost though. A simple office visit for what turned out to be a cold with no tests and about 10 minutes of time with the doctor and they submit a $275 charge to my insurance and I am responsible for over $175 of that. So much for being an affordable alternative. From my experience this is much higher than other immediate care facilities. If you have a high deductible steer clear of this place! Note: I since have discovered that I was charged for a "new patient visit" (according to the information they provided my insurance company). This supposedly included (among other things they didn't do) "typically spending 45 minutes face-to-face with the patient and/or family". I wasn't even in the building for 45 minutes including wait time. Hogwash. Maybe they looked at my insurance card and assumed they cold push this through with me only paying a deductible. Now I am on the hook for the whole thing. My advice is that if you go to any place like this, try to make things like this clear up front - tell them you are responsible for paying for everything (assuming that is the case) and maybe they will... pay more attention (I'm putting that kindly)... when they code the procedures. read more

I don't know what is happening with Physicians Immediate Care. I have been a patient at the Cicero Ave. location for over 30 years and sent employees for workers comp. treatment for 16 years. Now suddenly we are treated like new patients. Their new policy is if you have not visited in one year, you are a new patient. The charge to walk in the door is $360.00. That is double or triple comparable providers I and my employees have used. While my family, employees and I have been treated well by the on site staff, their billing staff has been unresponsive and inflexible on these new policies. They've lost our long-standing business. read more

First and foremost, thank you, thank you, thank you to all the other Yelp reviewers for this place! If not for you all, I would have been suffering (not in silence) during Thanksgiving weekend (2009). I am typically all right most of the time but I have a degenerative condition which literally knocks me off my feet at random moments. And it did just that during a pilates rocking exercise. By Thanksgiving Day, I couldn't move at all and by Friday morning, I had no idea what I was going to do. I have been at every ER in the Chicagoland area and really do not enjoy spending 8 hrs hanging out in pain. I was so nervous when my insurance company referred me to Urgent Care but I couldn't reach anyone else before Monday so I jumped on yelp. It was super clean. When we walked in, I barely was able to sit down in the waiting room before they had me register. Friendly intake person. They had me x-rayed, diagnosed and sent on my way with a prescription within 30 min. I would highly suggest going here instead of the ER. read more

Sick for 5 days over a holiday weekend - that's me. Finally, I had an *ah-hah* moment around midnight last night, but didn't know of any walk-in clinics around me. Being sick and tired and not really thinking clearly, I didn't do a Yelp search first. No, I did a quick Facebook post asking if anyone knew of any urgent care centers on the NW side. No more than 5 minutes later, I got a late-night phone call from my drunk friends asking what was going on, did I need a fricking trauma center, and could they do anything to help. Um, thank you for the kind offer, but no, that's what 9-1-1 is for (and if you wake my sick kids and my exhausted husband you will be on my shit list for longer than you know). But I digress... First of all, this place is open like, all the time. One of the nurses told me they were there on Christmas Day and New Year's Day, if only for a few hours. The receptionist, nurse, and doctor were all very pleasant. The waiting time was very minimal. I sat in the waiting room for 10 minutes max. I arrived around noon, and was in and out in less than 45 minutes. It's wonderful to know that this place is an option if you can't get in to see your regular doc or if it's a weekend. read more

I decided to cut some wine corks for my wedding table cards and probably should have quit while I was ahead...but no, I had to do one more and the exacto knife slipped and, well...you know I sliced my finger open. I had no idea where to go other than an ER so thank god I called my friend and she told me about this place. I had no expectations so I was super impressed and happy to say the least. I waited less than 10 min and all the ladies up fornt were super nice and sweet. From the moment I arrived til I walked out I think I stopped smiling only once...when they shot up my finer to numb it. The doctor was funny and you can tell he loves what he does. I was in and out and actually joked that I might have to cut my other finger so I would have to come back. Jeanette was a great help and put me at ease. EDIT - They agreed to fill my script. Good folks. I would say my initial visit was fine. Needed a couple refills until my insurance kicked in over the course of the next 2 months. Great. As a bonus I was told I could get a couple more refills without having to pay the $150 visit charge. This was stated directly to me by PA Jack Enter. Called today, a month later, and was told this time by Dr. Bayer they WOULD NOT refill my Rx but they would gladly see me again for another $150. Very shady practice! She even told me there were cheaper options out there! Do your self a favor and stay away from this group - they only care about taking your money and say one thing and do another. My regular physician was not in the office today so I decided to stop by here for a bad cough and possible strep. As soon as you walk in theres a sign on the fron desk to sign in using a tablet. So I did. I saw my name on the prompter, which said there would be a wait of about 10-30 min. Perfectly fine as I'm a walk in patient. Other people come in are being seen and leave yet I'm still waiting. After about 30-40 minutes I go up to the front and ask one of the receptionist (a young asian woman) if I needed to sign any paperwork or register. She looks up at me with a look like I'm bothering her, she asks if I signed in (she pointed at the tablet) I said yes, asks me a few questions and then hands me registration paperwork for me to fill out. Once I'm done I walk up and hand her the documents. I notice on the prompter that my name is gone and has been put back on and I'm now last on the list with a wait time again of about 30 min. I walk up to the same receptionist and ask if I'm going to be called in the order the names are listed, she says yes but they're there for drug screens and it should go fast. A patient who walked in well over 30 min after I had was called in before me, when I asked the receptionist if she was a walk in as well, she tries to ignore my question and I ask politely again and reiterate that I had been there before she had. She asked another receptionist there and they didnt know what to say. I overheard the patient being registered before hand and was there for a sick visit as well. The receptionist whom I had asked decided to say she was there for a drug screen as well when I knew that wasnt the truth. I was a bit upset because there was no need to lie and have an attitude when I asked a question. I walked back up to the other receptionist and told her that they could go ahead and remove me from the list. She offered to go back and ask if I could be seen right away and I declined. Out of both of them she was the only one that seemed like she understood my frustration. I understand that mistakes happen, all that needed to be done was just let me know that it was a mistake and they missed me or whatever and take responsibility for the mistake not have an attitude and lie. There was very poor customer service that could have been dealt with very differently. If you dislike your job so much where you're that unhappy, quit and find something else. No need to take it out on other people. read more

Since I tend to get sinus infections twice a year, I've been back here several times. While I did wait an hour and a half the last time (I think they were busy stitching up a girl who had a nasty dog bite), I would still recommend this place. The staff is always extremely polite and kind, and ALL of them told me "Feel better!" after speaking with me. The place is also clean and seems fairly well organized. They now can fill most prescriptions on site, which is super helpful. If you need urgent care, or if you don't have a doctor but need medical attention for something minor, I still recommend this place. read more

I found this immediate care facility on-line. During my recent trip to Chicago, I came down with a severe case of pink eye infection and sinus infection. I was treated by a team of competent doctors, with a medical staff who were all very professional, friendly & caring. I had a great experience when I went in there, similar to what many others are saying. However, when I received my bill there were 2 charges that my insurance didn't cover. I just find it a little ridiculous to charge an "Urgent Care Fee" and an "Evening/Weekend/Holiday Fee" when you are an Urgent Care Clinic. That's like being charged $100 at the checkout of a grocery store for the convenience to buy groceries there. I would go back again, but maybe try to wait until business hours. read more

I would not recommend this Urgent Care Center to anyone. On May 15, 2020, I witnessed people's health being put in jeopardy as they stood in line to what seemed as though to be tested for Covid-19. There were about 50 people in line outside the building, not standing 6' apart and many not wearing masks. There were patients and employees of the building who had to walk by and through this line to get into the building. The nurse, who was very rude, from the Immediate Care Center came outside and stood right at the door and had the line move to the doorway entrance which basically blocked the main entrance to the building. I am a patient of a physician in the building. I was not able to enter the building as I am not able to be around sick people as I am immune compromised! This is an absolute violation of the CDC guidelines for Covid-19 testing. Patients are supposed to wait in their car and wait until they are called for their appointments. In order for me to go to my appointment, both the nurse and the x-ray tech from my physician's office had to come down and help make room adequate for me to walk through the area so that I would not be exposed to a group of sick people. The nurse from the Immediate Care Center did not want to move her line to make room for me. She was very rude. This was extremely upsetting to me as I am taking all precautions to not get Covid-19 and then to possible be exposed to it while going to a Dr. appointment is uncalled for. I would tell anyone who cares about their health to stay away from Physician's Immediate Care Center at 4211 N. Cicero Ave. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

A Complaint was filed with the Better Business Bureau which was "Administratively" closed earlier today on 5/5/2014. The Better Business Bureau determined that Physicians Immediate Care made no effort to resolve the complaint that i had filed. Physicians Immediate Care instead choose to pass the blame onto me for their billing mistakes. It seems that it's my fault that they called someone else's phone number and never mailed a bill to me. I'm glad that the Better Business Bureau has made my complaint public so that everyone can see how this company operates and treats paying customers. read more

Came here today, sitting in a room at the moment, for a spider bite. I made an appt online for 12pm. It's now, 1247 and I have YET to see a physician... For a spider bite? All I need are antibiotics for this bite. Now I'll be heading to work late , for an appt that should've lasted 20mins. I'm beyond frustrated. What a great place. Having no insurance and no primary Dr yet (I just moved to Chicago) I was very nervous about going to a walk in only clinic. I expected a long wait, rude staff and expensive bill. Boy was I surprised. It was a clean, friendly, professional clinic. I had a severe yeast infection so the dr did a pelvic exam. I was in and out in under an hr. I was given meds to take home. All for $125.00, which I will gladly pay for a good experience. I wish they took appointments cause I would gladly use them as my primary. Highly recommend. read more

About once a year I get a horrible cold that I can't seem to kick and it sometimes turns in a sinus infection that requires antibiotics. This place is so much more convenient than my PCP. I love this place. The staff is great. I always get in and out and if I need a prescription, they have it on site and I can leave with it for $12. This is my go to place if I'm not feeling well but don't want to have to mess with getting an appointment to see my regular doctor. read more
