The person at the front wasn't that welcoming, understanding, or helpful. My parents were visiting from out of town and are members of f45 but were having issues with their app to sign in and they could honestly careless. As someone who loves doing Solidcore and other group fitness classes, I was excited about trying out F45 today. We chose this particular location because of the location and I wanted to see if this would be something I could add into my weekly routine and possibly get a membership. My in-laws who are long time members in Houston for the last 9 years have talked about it and really advocated for it being the best workout gym for the longest time, so we jumped on it and signed up. Unfortunately, my father in-law's app was not able to work but he was able to book my mother-in law on her app. As a family who has a background in hospitality, sales, and healthcare and have been in these different fields for many years, we were very disappointed with our first 5 minutes of interaction. We understand the type of attitude and people who can keep a business successful and will drive clients back into the studio. When we first entered into the building and told the front desk it was my husband and I's first time ever in an f45 studio, the front desk associate was not welcoming whatsoever. She was abrupt and had a very dry personality. We filled out our waivers and waited for my father in-law to come in from parking the car. My father in-law explained the situation and she was not empathetic or accommodating. I do get it rules are rules. It was an app issue. However, it could have been handled differently. It was the combination of her attitude and not being able to be empathic which was our biggest disappointment. An alternative way that could have been addressed would be like "I am sorry you went through that. Unfortunately, it was an app issue and we do have a policy here. Here is a solution..." We would have been like okay we get it. Things happen. Lastly, you are the first person, a client sees when they enter your business. You have to act like you want our business. I am not the type to write reviews to bring down someone's business, but it was such a big disappointment.

This gym also has a smell of cat litter. Not sure if it's the rubber floors or what, but the bottom floor really stinks. Other than those two, a gym is a gym and I'm there to work out. The owner, Dan Owens, instructs these classes often and will absolutely crush your upper and lower body in the best possible way. He is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to making sure every person in the room knows what to do and helps with form if necessary and welcomed. Another great perk is access to the locker rooms and saunas. I feel the entire facility is kept clean and organized. I love the big windows everywhere which allow for a ton of natural light to come inside. I also enjoy using the indoor/outdoor green space on the bottom floor which has a garage door that can open and close depending on the weather. Very nice during Spring, Summer and early Fall. I never feel like I have to wait for equipment to free up, and they do offer complimentary towels at the front desk upon check-in. This athletic club is on ClassPass and I typically just purchase gym time using a couple credits or I sign up for the circuit or conditioning classes.

I tried Pure Barre for about 3 months, but was seeking variety in my workouts. F2B offers that with a plethora of classes and times! My body (and mind) have been challenged and I love seeing how my strength improves each class. If you're looking for a small studio with great vibes, definitely come check this studio out. You will not regret it!

Fit to Be is located in the same building and on the same level as American Roadhouse. There's plenty of parking in the lot behind the building, and the studio has a small lobby area to wait in before classes start. They have a single room for classes, but it has a sliding barn door in the back, making it possible to conduct private training sessions at the same time a larger class is going on. Other reviews note that classes are capped at 15, but I've never had more than twelve. I have yet to take a class with Julie (the owner, acclaimed in many other reviews), but that's because I'm such a huge fan of Bryn's Ballerobica class at 9am on Saturdays. Barre or ballet-inpsired classes are a dime a dozen these days, but Ballerobica is the best I've found. It adds an aerobic element to the standard core exercises, so you feel like you've gotten a much bigger calorie burn. Plus, Bryn is a phenomenal teacher- she pushes without yelling and she is continually upbeat without being fake. Everyone -from students to teachers - seems genuinely glad to be there. I leave class feeling upbeat (and sweaty) which is exactly what I'm looking for. Though I discovered Fit to Be through Classpass (which is awesome, by the way), these are classes I might actually pay extra to be able to attend more of them than the three per month Classpass limits you to. At just $15 for one drop in class (and packages that go down in cost from there), Fit to Be is also one of the more reasonable gyms I've found. I can't wait to try more classes, because Fit to Be is certainly as good as it gets!
