Effect Fitness is the bootcamp that you didn't know you needed. If it is your first class at Effect Fitness please bring a friend with you to get you through this intense 40 minute workout. When you book the class online it usually says it starts at the top of the hour or at the half hour. The owner Dooley and other instructors usually start 10 minutes after scheduled time. Please arrive at scheduled time so you have enough leeway to use the restroom and stretch before class starts. When class starts you have one goal- PERFORM!! Each class schedule is aired a week in advance on the IG page @effectfitness. To prepare for the different types of classes you should have a leg band, arm band, 2-3 pound weights, and 5-8 pound weights. This is a HIIT bootcamp class, so there will be lots of reps. The 2 pound weight will easily feel like 40 pounds after one song. Choose wisely haha I also completed my first 5K run with Effect Fitness this past summer. It was amazing and a great way to connect with the community by way of fitness.

My friend took me here for one of their brick classes. When I say it was challenging but so worth it I mean it! I will definitely be back. It was so much fun. If you want to push yourself for a great workout try them out. Also, it's not expensive! They also have venders around too so that when the class is over you can make purchases if you want. They had fitness clothes as well as fruit which I purchased and it was delicious!

Whew. Did it. Sweating like crazy.

Ok. I lost my mind and some unwanted fat up in this trap music melanin full body workout extravaganza. I had been parking lot stalking Effect for awhile as I live in the area and after seeing a pic of myself in a swimsuit decided to get back right. No side eye no haters -all were welcoming and young, old, big, small, short, tall, men, women were in there getting it. They even have a babysitter on site if you have to bring the little ones. Loved it! Will be back as I am working my way back to find status!

Effect Fitness is hands down the number one (1) performing arts GYM in the world! Effect is not just a gym, it's a place where everyone is FAMILY, a place that you can come and know that you will get a great workout. All the trainers and staff are great , and take an interest in you no matter what fitness level you're at. Big shout out to my boy Dooley! The man behind the plan. If you attend one of his bootcamps... well let's just say you better be ready! So if you want to get fit, join us seven day weeks or virtually and follow Effect Fitness on IG at @Effectfitness "I'm trying to see something" - Dooley -Chitown Myke

The complimentary teas were so great, including a detox option. The massage specialists were top notch professionals, I can't remember the last time I'd gotten a massage that effective. However, their other locations, like Atlanta, feel completely neglected by comparison. It seems clear that corporate priority has shifted almost entirely toward expanding their barre and Core Fusion offerings at the expense of traditional practice. After over a year of membership, I ultimately decided to cancel. The monthly cost simply no longer justified the value, especially as the culture shifted heavily toward the ultra-physical--a push-harder, get-skinny mindset that feels rooted in superficiality rather than wellness. The instructor lineup reflects this shift, with those teaching the most intense, workout-driven classes being rewarded with more time slots, while traditional yoga instructors have either left or had their schedules drastically cut.

Anyone is greeted…read moreat the front desk by a welcoming yoga instructor or staff member, and there is a good space to put your things aways and clean up after the class. On Friday night at 6 in Inman Park, I attend Yin Yoga. It is a peaceful, magical, inspirational, and meditative candlelight session to shake off the week and stretch away aches, pains, and feelings. At the end, a cold, eucalyptus towel clothe is quietly by your mat and adds a light and refreshing moment during the wind-up of the class. The regular yoga classes are also a good whole body stretch and strength training. Go to Yonder Yoga if you care to improve and enlighten your body, mind, and soul.

The aesthetic is incredible--think modern, city loft vibes that immediately set the tone for a great session. Parking was surprisingly easy. There's a small lot behind the studio, and I was able to find street parking without any trouble. I took Theo's class, and as always, he was fantastic--warm, welcoming, and full of great energy. This location also happens to be the closest to my job, so it's definitely joining my regular rotation. Active Sol Yoga is located in Buckhead on Bennett Street, which is right off Peachtree St. If you were familiar with Frank Ski's Restaurant & Lounge, then that's the street you turn in on to get there. Otherwise, you might easily pass the street since the street sign is a bit obscured. Once you turn onto Bennett, you drive almost all the way to the end of the street but take a left onto short street and the studio is located at the building at the top of the street. Hope that makes sense. I do like that it's away from the hustle & bustle of Peachtree Street. Upon arriving you'll see some benches on the right, a window (checking in) to the left and then an open area with cubbies to put your things in, apparel for sale and a clean restroom. They have too big, open studios with lots of natural light. Always a plus! Krishaunda lead our session. She started us with Vinyasa flow and ended our last 20 minutes with Restorative yoga. She was very nice. And I liked that she went around the class and helped to guide us into positions correctly. I was (& still am) pretty relaxed. Honestly could've stayed in shavasana pose for 15 more minutes. Or an hour or so. Lol.

I might have to move to Virginia Highland now with my mat bag and tight pants. ::shudder:: But in all reality, this place rocks. I was a total yoga virgin and they welcomed me with open arms. The fact that your first class is free is just a cherry on top of the whole stretching and planking and namaste-ing experience. I've only been in the upstairs studio, which is clean, bright, and surprisingly cool given the hellish temperatures outside. They have plenty of blankets and bolsters to help you out if you need it, as well. My class was with Doug and he was great: didn't move too fast but wasn't painfully slow, always providing advice for how to make a move easier or more difficult. He was also always sure to give repeat instructions on when to inhale vs exhale: the thing I found most difficult. Plus, he complimented me at the end of the class, and yes, flattery will get you everywhere with me. I'm planning on purchasing a package dealio in the future and looking forward to repeat visits to Yoga Samadhi. I'm so happy to have it nearby, and so thankful to Katie W for convincing me to come along. My core muscles are much the better for it!

The class was for beginners and was ran by our Yoga instructor Doug. Very knowledgeable guy who was great at helping both experienced and brand new (ahem, me) yoga enthusiasts get the best out of their experience. The room is upstairs, clean with wooden floors and although your own yoga mat and towels are recommended, they provide both to you for your first visit. Classes go for about 90 minutes, you'll sweat, and if there's a stretch you can't do, the instructor comes over to either fix you posture, or offer assistance in the form of extra blocks, etc. Located off of Waddell St, Yoga Samadhi has a private gravel lot that can get full, but we found parking. Getting in and out of this place was no problem, and being close to Atlanta, it's a must try if you have even the slightest interest in Yoga. Good group of people who really are focused on delivering a great yoga experience.
