    Panko chicken sandwich/burger

The service and ambiance were good; small little spot next to the river. I ordered the Panko chicken burger/sandwich and enjoyed it. It has an interesting mix of flavors with the cheese and jam. I just felt it was a bit over fried.

The ratings do this establishment justice for their food and while they are at least 4.5, I can't go to 5 on the first visit. I Did not have a reservation but snuck in as a single, the luck of the Irish I suspect! Started out with a prawn appetizer in a garlic oil and red chili pepper sauce that was top notch. The dish came with greens and toasted bread as dipping into the garlic sauce was essential and while this was a great dish that came with four pawns, tail separated, only received 3 tails could be found and suspect it was hiding somewhere in the kitchen! Ordered the steak with fries and greens cooked medium and came out as expected. They might have offered a veggie bust missed the opportunity. Steak was perfectly seasoned with no condiments required and barely any gristle. Paired a half carafe of Cabernet that went perfectly with the meal. The service was excellent and friendly and highly recommend this restaurant while visiting Dublin or if local.

First restaurant I've ate an Ireland (all of Europe really) and the service/staff were very friendly! It's an intimate setting, the food is savory and sweet with a perfect view of the River. Would highly recommend

Named after Phoenix Park nearby, it's a great spot to spend eating dinner. I had their fish and chips. My wife and I loved our food and the service was outstanding. It was a little pricey, but we'll worth it for the quality of food cooked here.

We were staying at the Hilton Garden Village and had walked to St. Patrick's Cathedral to attend services and then to the Guinness Factory. By the time we walked to Phx after that, we were famished! The place is not large, but has nice seating arrangements, and we had a table facing the street. The staff was very attentive and friendly. It was perfect. I had a local IPA while my wife settled for a nice glass of Chardonnay. I was hungry for Fish & Chips, so that was my selection while my wife ordered the daily special, which happened to be a lamb dish. The fish & chips were awesome. Nice big piece of fish laid on top of a big bed of fries that were crisp, golden, and hot. It was served with a tartar sauce and small bed of salad. The entire dish was absolutely delicious. My wife liked the lamb, but felt that it had a bit too much seasoning and was the texture of pulled pork. I really wanted to try some of the other dishes, but since it was our last day in Dublin, we were not able to return for more. Perhaps on our next visit.

We really loved this cozy bistro. All the food is phenomenal. Our waitress was bright and delightful. We'd return in a heartbeat. I particularly was fond of the peanut butter brownie. Oh my!

Came here for the lunch special and got the duck liver parfait and the mushroom tagliatelle. Both dishes were amazing. There was more duck liver then there was bread and the server offered to give me more bread which I kindly accepted. Then came the mushroom tagliatelle which kind of left me speechless...the portion was so big that I was only able to eat half and couldn't finish the other which I was really sad about parting with. Would definitely recommend anyone Dublin to give this place a try.

WHAT A GREAT FIND! We had went to the Jameson Distillery and wanted some place to eat after. PHX has great Google reviews and is close to the Ashling Hotel and Jameson. The food was outstanding and the servers were so nice! Everything was clearly marked on the menu for allergies and pretty much everything on the menu was gluten free already!! They had a fabulous pre-fix menu so it was also extremely reasonable. 100% Recommend!!!!

The authentic Victorian setting, the Victorian mahogany fittings, the mosaic marble tiled floors and granite tabletops, the mahogany bar, capped with red Connemara marble, follows the classic Victorian architectural pattern. The staff are helpful, friendly and patient since their accent is hard to understand sometime. My 1st beer and 1st Irish food, all I can say is what a meal, just simple delish. Being here is just a wondrous experience, the place is cosy, warm and the friendly of the people. So glad I picked this place as my first of Dublin.

Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.

Menu has a good selection of Irish dishes from seafood chowder up to lamb stew and pies. We ordered the potato soup, seafood chowder, 'banjo' burger with onion rings. The soups arrived first and the seafood chowder was loaded with huge pieces of fish, potatoes (not many) with a creamy rich base. Flavor was incredible and in itself a full meal. Served in a large crock style bowl. The potato soup was minus any whole potatoes. It was a rich creamy base with plenty of flavor and very hearty. The burger was really a double cheeseburger with plenty of cheese, grilled onions, what appeared to be a mayonnaise based sauce on a soft hamburger roll. Really tall enough that it was tough getting your mouth around it. Very well seasoned burgers and the onions were a nice touch. The onion rings were huge and had a very light batter on them. They served in a metal bowl to keep them hot. For dessert the apple crumble was ordered which was served in a large dish with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This could have been warmer but still was good.. The 5 star rating is for the chowder as it outshone the rest of the meal although the burger was definitely a close second. Definitely will return to try other dishes when we come back to the city.

The meat and veggies were plentiful, the portion generous, and it was tasty enough but maybe on the bland side? It was served with a side of braised red cabbage which we really liked: sweet but not sour like pickled cabbage. And house-made brown stout bread, also very good. The wife had a Guinness and I, thinking it too cliché to order Guinness as a tourist in Ireland, tried a different stout whose name I've forgotten from the ample selection. But comparing the two, so much better! The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Irish dishes, more than most of the similar pubs in the area. As well as the other expected pub type food: sandwiches, burgers, etc. As for desserts, if we were hungrier, the wife might have ordered the Irish Whiskey Bread & Butter Pudding. The hubby would probably get his dessert later, as the selection was limited and neither that nor the Apple Crumble appealed. Sitting at the bar we had a more personalized experience than were we at a table. The bartender offered to take a photo of me behind the bar which I of course accepted. We made the right choice in coming here.
