First thing the owners have their kid running around, the cook is also server wearing flip flops. I don't think they have ever wiped down the sauces or walls when dirty. Menu is very limited. I think only the wife and husband work here with their 4 year old running around. The wife and husband are very nice though but doesn't make up for the cleanliness of the place , food or service. The food is a 3 out of a 10. I do not recommend this place at all. But they are nice people. I hope they get someone to help run this place and make the menu and food better. Definitely not a professional setting or dinning.

Not sure why ppl rated this place low. If they know real authentic Vietnamese they'd realize this is how it taste. The food is not doctored up like these other fake places. The food I ordered was very flavorful and I will definitely return... I ordered the fried rice and veggie tofu, my daughter had the rare steak, I also ordered the soup and rice wrap. Even the sauce for the wrap was delicious! Reviews are good and all, but somethings you need to come try for yourself.

The house is open now! The meat is tender and I love the meat ball too. The amount is big enough for me to eat two meals. Really delicious!! Quick service and nice place to stay after mall tour

Ok ok ok,, Let's see... I was gonna go easy on you, BUT judging from the response you give the reviewers. A brutally honest review is about to commence. Let's start with the most Palatable shall we. Banh Mi: Probably the most pleasant thing I ate here. "BASIC" components were there. Needs more Pow!!! Not the "BEST" banh mi I have ever had. Crab Rangoon: It's airy and light. Indicative that these were made in house. Taste is good, but not my favorite. Because your strongest appetizer is the most AMERICAN thing in your menu. Fresh Rolls: It's bland... eating these by themselves should have a refreshing quality. Cilantro was lacking or if there was,, very minute and definitely needs cucumbers. This will give it that "mmmm" finish. Sauce was lazy as well,, anyone can pour hoisin sauce and dress it with crushed peanuts. Bun Bo Hue: (Cracks knuckles loudly) Ok,,, I'll begin with the good part. They used vermicelli rice noodles... that's it! It seems as if everything that went wrong in the world manifested in this bowl in front of me. I give them props for the broth was pork based,, but definitely weak AF. Luncheon meat was forgivable,, BUT beef slices!!?? REALLY!!?? In Bun Bo Hue!!?? Are you serious!? Biggest offense ever!!! I was blessed with the skill of kitchen sorcery. So whenever I like something from a restaurant, I fabricate it. I make my own baguettes, make fresh rolls with both the peanut sauce and the sweet chili fish sauce. Plus my Bun Bo Hue,, will send the ones being sold here to the depths of hell. I live around the area,, please don't use me as an excuse to why your food is super lackluster. MSG!? Give me the option to put it or not. Because I've been eating food with MSG all my life and I've seen people who preach about how bad it is die of cancer before me. They were all good people, but you can't pin a magical death disease to a certain seasoning. Lastly,, we, the downriver foodies with real taste buds, will drive all the way to the Madison Heights area for "Unapologetic" good Vietnamese cuisine. Just disappointed that we'll have to keep driving up there because your restaurant caters to suburbanites who have no taste buds. What seems to be the owner is so concerned about what "people around his area" thinks,, we'll he might as well plate up some chicken fingers and fried potato sticks and cover everything in ranch instead. Btw,, plus one star for service. Your front of the line staff is top knotch! Zero for the food and MGT. This place is gross. Drive all the way up to Madison Heights if you want to try real Vietnamese food. My favorite shop,, Pho Que Hong. Or come to my kitchen. Thank you for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!

Over 5 years now this young Vietnamese couple has the Best Pho Downriver, Yes the real deal . Happy the wife just returned from Vietnam bringing her parents to live with them. She said both Ma and Pa are tremendously talented in the kitchen. Stay tuned for new exciting Food dishes. Now open everyday at 1pm that's really great news, easy to find on Eureka in front of Meijer. Had a mega delicious bowl of Chicken Pho, I always ask for the Authentic Broth for the Win. She had a couple Egg Rolls filled with Chicken n Taters, a order of the Butter Fried Chicken Tenders outrageous Wonderful . A quaint dining room and large amount of takeout orders keep them busy. The menu has been down sized since COVID, that's changing really soon. Welcome to the USA Mom and Dad looking forward to some great Vietnamese food dishes from you, now get to work . Really great prices Food and service always a must visit. #phohousetaylor @phohousetaylor #phorestaurant #gotpho #butterchicken #chickenpho #springrolls #vietnameserestaurant #downriverfriendseat

I had the Pho house special and it was very delicious, large portion also. Plenty to take home to eat later. Great service! I would highly recommend and I will most definitely be back!!

There's this awful stench of a massive trash right outside the shopping center or once used to be a trash dump site in its previous life. There was no one manning the front counter at first, a minute later and woman came out and seated me with a menu. The hostess/waitress gave me several minutes to look over the menu, decided on the chicken pho soup, good litmus for a Vietnamese joint. The tables at the booth seemed dirty and had a film over the table, will be keeping my utensils on the napkins here. The broth wasn't bad, added the usual hoisin and sriracha to give to more depth and kick. The veggies are sparse, asked for more basil, bean sprouts and lime and received another small pile of bean sprouts and basil. The basil seems a bit old and brown. The chicken is charred and appears its pan fried before going into the soup and rather fatty on several pieces. Sounds like there's heavy metal raging in the kitchen, clashes with the elevator jazz music in the dining area. The food is average, nothing glowing about it. The hostess/waitress isn't the friendliest or warm but she will get you anything requested, she warmed up some as I cashed out. The plus is that there's a full breast of chicken inside the soup. It was $12.71 our the door for my chicken pho, a bit pricey, but I get it, priced to survive out here. The floor right by the checkout counter was super sticky as I went stepped around waiting for my receipt.

Why lettuce? Slimy bean sprouts. The toppings were awful.
    Yan J.

Pretty disappointing. We order three phos and a bbq sandwich. The pho was awful. As my cousin puts it, it was like mostly noodles in a sea of msg. There were more noodles than there was meats and topping. Also, what's up with the lettuce and why are the bean sprouts slimy? The bbq sandwich was drenched in sauce. It was so salty I gave up eating it. Half way through the meal, everyone decided that they couldn't stomach any more. We all left pretty salty about our food being awful. If it wasn't due to the a long day of travel, we would have never stopped here. I wouldn't eat here again, even if the meal was free. Btw. The review below me said they heard that "they pick up fresh ingredients daily." Yeah they do. Anyone care for some fresh slimy bean sprouts? LMFAO are we even talking about the same place?

Ordered door dash. Samosas were burnt. pho was bland. Barely any tofu. Mushy cauliflower, the bean sprouts and basil were rotten. And found a little piece of plastic on my soup. So disappointed.

It's one of the most disgusting places I've seen in my life. The floors are all black in the back from debris and dirt, they don't use gloves or basic common sanitization of cleansing, and I've seen rotten food and stuff dropped on the ground still served to customers. this place needs more business from a health inspector and needs either proper care or to be shut down, it isn't safe for the people to eat that stuff.

This place is open and taking all the proper COVID precautions. Their food is prepared fresh and the Pho is amazing! Customer service was great. Highly recommend for good Pho downriver.

I loved Pho House. The gentleman (who I think runs the place) was very nice about educating us on the different menu items. My friend got the rice noodle soup and she loved it. The broth was subtle, flavorful and almost sweet. I got the crispy noodles topped with veggies and meat, and it was SOOOO good. I can't really describe the savory sauce other than addicting. It's a huge dish and I ended up eating the whole thing. We split a blended frozen drink that tasted like iced Thai tea, mixed with little boba balls (not sure what they're called) that burst with juice. I'll be back for that for sure. Overall, excellent experience!

After graduating my girlfriend [now wife] and I would make it a point to try and eat at Matsu-Chan when in the area, even after our first kiddo, and eventually our second. Last year before one of our trips to the area my wife let me know that they were under new management and when I looked at the new menu, I was saddened that all of my favorite items were no longer present, and it seemed that my beloved little slice of Japan was now "just" a ramen shop. While my wife loves and can handle ramen and the broth, I would typically get the different rice bowls, or other entrees because while I love me some good ramen it doesn't work out well for me with the hour or so trip to the area. We'd get some rolls, takoyaki, and other appetizers to share around the table before digging into our main entrees. With the increased prices, and fewer options, I will end up going to any of the multitude of places [Aji-ten is usually our #2] to get my kick. I'll miss the little shop and the times I've had, like perusing the manga while waiting for a table. I wish the old owners the best, and the new management as well, especially if it was a familial transfer, but Matsu-Chan is not for me anymore. My wife will eventually get up there and let me know how it is, but for now, I'm just happy that a little bento shop opened near my workplace run by two first gen transplants, so I can at least get my fix without the drive.

Hubby and I laughed at how many times we zipped past the restaurant without noticing it. My husband and I both ordered the Major Tom Khatsu, which has a coconut chicken broth base. The chicken katsu pieces were the perfect level of crispy without being heavily breaded. There was also a nice little kick to the dish, which made it so, so yummy. Our friends got the Shoyu ramen with pork belly, and the Corned Beef ramen. The Shoyu dish seemed to be more enjoyable. Though we stuck with water, cans of Faygo pop seemed to be the drink offerings - other than alcoholic beverages. Areas for improvement include the waiting. Johnny Noodle King is a small place, with a main dining area and then what seems to be a bar area attached. We initially waited by the door for our table along with another small group (we were a party of four). We were then asked to go to the bar area to wait so that it would clear the door, but found it interesting how we were asked to move but not the other group. Also, we were standing away from the doormat we were not obstructing anyone's movements. The wait was long, and we asked if we could order food to the bar area (as opposed to waiting for a table). We were told 'no', yet there was a table full of patrons who were eating. There was no notification system, so our friend had to keep going to the front to see if our table was ready. Don't get me wrong; 'hooray' to Johnny Noodle King for having such great business volume. However, they need a way to manage it so that people will not be put off. Once we were seated, we did have good service from our waitstaff, and the food was very good. My husband and I plan to return to explore more of the menu.
