Definitely add extra time traveling here, if you don't travel by car, because it's in a pretty remote area. Overall, the race was exactly as I expected. It wasn't particularly challenging or crazy amounts of fun. There were 12 obstacles dispersed throughout the 5k, and many people walked (so don't worry to those who don't like running). Some of the obstacles were very lame, some of them were interesting. I definitely wouldn't do this again, but I don't entirely regret it. Don't buy this regularly; buy it on Groupon/LivingSocial!

Not a good race…read more That being said, it's not the fault of the Wipeout Run organization, but the rules of NYC. I've done a number of races at Brooklyn Aviator. They were all pretty terrible. One example is Rugged Maniac. Due to NYC regulations, RM doesn't set up the barbed wire, fire obstacles or have any legit mud pits. If you run a RM anywhere else, you will have a PHENOMENAL race. At Brooklyn Aviator? Skip it. I ran the ROC race (former name of Wipeout run) last year. Last year, we had all the obstacles. This year, under Wipeout, 3 obstacles were missing from the course: Monkey Business, Bubble Bash Swing, and Dope on a Rope. The terrain at Brooklyn Aviator is awful. They place all obstacles on an old airplane tarmac. It's 100% flat asphalt. And due to them missing three obstacles, there were only 9 scattered throughout 3.1 miles of asphalt. The majority of the time you're just running/jogging/walking through dead zones on cement. For anyone curious, it's not a challenging obstacle race. It's more for fun and wearing ridiculous outfits. No "obstacle" at the Aviator race is made to challenge your body in any way. Majority are just water slides, and glorified bouncy houses. I would be curious to see what a legit Wipeout Run looks like, but this really isn't a race I'd travel out of state to complete.

The music was very good and was played by a in-house DJ. The folding chairs were okay but weren't sturdy enough. This rollerskating rink is what the surrounding neighborhoods needed to satisfy the need for more indoor recreation. I'm glad they joined the neighborhood, Everyone needs a pair of roller skates....lol I'm kidding. It is a great way to burn calories while rollerskating. I hope that positive energy and positive vibes will remain in this business so that people can come and enjoy themselves safely while having fun. However, business owners just need to take more time to fix the necessary safety precautions to properly ensure that everyone doesn't hurt themselves. There was a metal piece on the floor that was indiscreetly covered by a shoddy rug and that needs to be addressed because it's an accident waiting to happen. Other than that, everything else is all good.

Entry was free (unheard of in this day and age!) and skate rentals were only $20+tax. Believe me when I say the energy of all the skaters, employees and DJ were off the charts! Everyone was positive, enthusiastic, supportive and friendly! There were impromptu conga lines, electric slide dances and smiles aplenty. I must have skated for about 3 hours with only the occasional 3 minute break to catch my breath. In case you got hungry or thirsty, there were small mom n pop food and drink vendors by the entrance charging very reasonable prices. The best part was being amongst such talented skaters! I've only been skating three times now but I feel like I leveled up just by watching others here. I was under the impression we were playing outside. The other teammates I met also thought the same thing. I would've NEVER purchased tickets had I known it was going to be in a gym. It was VERY hot inside the bubble as you can imagine! The bubble weighs 25lbs so it's very cardio intensive! This would be perfect outdoors when the weather is cool. Also, I highly recommend wearing knee pads! They tell you not to fall on your knees, instead try landing sideways but at times it was hard not to when people run into you unexpectedly. I might give this a try again but I will triple check to make sure it's at a park and not a gym. I felt the ad was misleading. They should be more specific. Also, would've been cool if they gave us more time for photos but they were preparing for the next team right after. The referee took one and said she would post it but I don't see anything yet. Overall, I got my workout and my team won! Yayy

I've joined in on some pick up games and wanted to make sure they get the attention they deserve…read more The owners are super hard working in making sure every detail is tended to and work very hard to seamlessly work around last minute changes in regards to schedule, players, venue, etc., The balls are cleaned before and after every game.The times I joined in, the owners were the referees and made sure everything was tended to with care, even though they had multiple hats to wear. Highly recommended if you're looking for a unique way to celebrate birthdays, team build, or just looking for a quick pick me up on a weekend.

We came in a group and lucked out on having Andy, who is the ultimate real-life daredevil--the kind you can imagine to skydive in his sleep, as our instructor. Thank god he made sure the safety measures were drilled in our heads because I would probably shoot straight up to the roof the moment I step into the vent. Our group had people of all shapes and sizes, and he was extremely patient with us and most importantly, made sure we had fun. I wouldn't come without a group or deal since each flight lasts only 60 seconds and the first half of that time, you'll be spending trying to adjust yourself and not get carried away--literally. But it's a great foundational (and I use that lightly) course to get a feel of whether being among the clouds is in the cards or not.

His session was about 1.5-2 hours, joined by another group of stranger party. He said the instructor was great. They gave you a certificate of completion after. No concession stand but vending machines are available. $1.5 for a can of soda which is very reasonable. Parking can be a problem. The street outside was ' no parking anytime'. They do send you an email ahead to remind you about parking situation. A nearby parking garage ( 7 min walk) will validate your ticket and you only have to pay $10 for unlimited parking on that day. But that's really nothing to walk around there. The only choice for waiting parents is to wait on site. They will also email video and photo after the session. Free download of the sample videos. If you want high definition, then you have to pay. Parents were also allowed to take pictures during flight experience.
