Today was my loved one's (would have) 90th birthday and my family and I went to go spend time with her before 8pm (the usual times I can go) but my heart was ripped out of my chest when I saw a sign saying "closed from SUNSET to 8am". YOU FORGOT TO ANNOUNCE THAT. You don't even know how much a change in hours can mean to the surviving family members. I hope your staff AND whomever is the reason behind this feels the same pain as me but 10 fold. You also lied to my cousin about the truth of finances after death. I wish I could take my family and friends out of your cemetery.

im absolutely furious. if i could go back in time i would have had my grandfather buried elsewhere especially if i knew his headstone would be disrespected. i drive 90 round trip to see his headstone. I came in on January 2 to put flowers in my grandfather's vase for his headstone, but i found out somebody had stolen his vase when i got there. I went into the office and showed them a picture, and they said." we will put in a work order for a new vase, to level his headstone" because it would constantly get covered in mud. i came in today on 1-7-2024 to see them not replace the vase or level his headstone so now his headstone is not readable and absolutely flooded out. People pay x amount of money to get buried here and they can't even do their job and keeping the headstones clean or not vandalize. this is absolutely disrespectful to the people who have loved ones buried here.

This cemetery looks abandoned. Less than 50% of the grass is being watered. The system is obviously not working properly. Many vases are knocked over and many are broken. It's absolutely atrocious! I can't even give it 1 star but had to in order to post this review. My parents are buried here and it's heartbreaking to see how poorly the grounds are being managed. Dignity is not the appropriate description of this cemetery.

This is what we came to Easter morning, flags on the ground, all vases pulled up laying on the ground.

Since November 2012, this is all my grandpa has on his grave :( where is his headstone we paid for and granite flower holder?!..

STAY AWAY!!!!! Sadly, this was a horrible experience. It's hard enough when you have a lost one, and you would hope the funeral home would make things easier, not harder. You would hope... November 2012, my grandpa passed away. We were promised many things when we first arranged funeral and burial services, none of which we received. We were told to give them a picture of my grandpa for the service and a slideshow. We did both. The night of his funeral, they did not have a picture next to his casket like promised. So my sister and I left the funeral and ran to Walgreens to buy a frame and get a big picture of my grandpa developed instead of being able to be there for the hour before the service. We wanted to make sure there was a picture of him for the service!! The slideshow was messed up. I don't know what they did to the one we made, but they showed the same 8 pictures throughout the whole service, none with his kids. The worst is the way they "stuffed" his mouth. Did not look natural or even like him at all! My uncle suggested in stuffing the mouth a little, and they told him to do it himself how he wants it!! So my uncle STUCK HIS HANDS IN HIS DEAD DADS MOUTH in order for others to remember him peacefully!! He has been traumatized since!!! We were promised a free bench for all the mistakes that were caused by the funeral home, as well as for the emotional distress and damage that was caused to my uncle for having to stick his hand in his dead dads mouth!!! They never gave us anything. We finally went in a year ago and pay for a headstone, because for years the cars kept going over his grave and he didn't even have grass. I just went to drop off flowers, to this day, almost 3 years since his death, my poor grandpa still doesn't have a headstone...

My grandmother passed away on April 26th and prior to her passing, I did extensive research on funeral homes and mortuaries within the valley. I read hundreds of reviews and made many calls and Hansen just felt right. We selected Hansen to be who we would use when the need arose. A few weeks later, my grandmother peacefully slipped away. Her hospice team made contact with Hansen Desert Hills and the process was seamless and professional. Two days after her passing, we went to the Desert Hills location to make arrangements with Cami. Nothing felt pressured or sales-driven, as we had experienced years prior at another funeral home when my grandfather passed away. We had many variables at play, including a burial trust and plans for an out of state interment, and Cami navigated everything perfectly and expertly. We also interacted with Charlii the receptionist during this process and she was wonderful as well. We picked my grandmother's remains up the following week and had a lovely walk through Hansen's memorial garden. It was all very peaceful and again, just felt right. I'm sorry if you have a need for a mortuary, but Hansen took great care of us.

Molly, the comfort dog, was also a blessing to have around and gave us the extra comfort we needed during such a difficult time. During one of the hardest times in our lives, they treated us with kindness, dignity, and respect. We will always be grateful.

But afterwards there seems to be a complete lack or respect for the living and the deceased. They remove the decorations the first Tuesday of each month so I always go at least two days early to collect the decorations so they do not get damaged. Santan Memorial Gardens has the removal dates posted in two places on the website as well as a sign in the decoration retrieval area with the same dates. We went to the cemetery 7/3 to collect the decorations (the removal was scheduled for 7/5- the day after a holiday) only to find that the decorations had already been removed- two days early and completely destroyed. I understand glass and fragile decorations are not recommended so that was why I always collected them early. And I understand they're not responsible for lost or damaged items. Again, that is why I always collect them early. However, if they are going to collect items earlier than all their signage indicates, they need to notify family members well in advance. There were no signs in the cemetery the week before saying they were going to remove decorations on a different date. The decorations they collected were thrown into piles like garbage. All of our metal displays were bent and damaged, the pig that had belonged to our deceased relative was in a box broken into many pieces. They showed complete lack of respect for the items, which shows a lack or respect for the deceased and the living. It was heartbreaking seeing those items destroyed for absolutely no reason. I can only assume the workers wanted to celebrate the 4th holiday longer and did not take into account the impact it would have on the loved ones left behind. If Santan Memorial Gardens is to change their retrieval dates they need to have signs throughout the gardens at least a week in advance, or collect the items AFTER the scheduled date. Not before.

I have worked in Sales and trust me, the previous funeral homes we visited prior to Red Mountain Funeral Home either had a sales pitch or just did not feel right for us. McClain was very empathetic in this time of need. He listened to us and gave us the options based on what we discussed. Never did he upsell anything. He heard exactly what we wanted and matched up the service they could offer us. In our particular situation we had to have an intimate family viewing prior to the cremation process. RIP Barbie Gonzalez, I LOVE YOU!!! You will never be forgotten and you'll always be part of the family's story!!! When we are born, we are born into a race called life. In life we never have a set starting point and our finish line is always different from person to person. At a very early age we always pit ourselves with others we respect or we want to be like or a legend who is no longer in the race. We never are told the rules of the race. While being green in this race we sometimes are taken advantage of and learn right away or make the same mistake a few times before we learn. While others may have more shelter and are not allowed to learn the rules of life until much later down the road. Throughout this race we see others who are struggling. Some of us are out here to help from the get while others are more tentative to help or arrogant and refuse to help. These are all part of our race and learn the playbook as we go. Throughout this marathon we learn from the miles we put in and make the tweaks to become smarter/efficient! Some are quicker than others at becoming smarter/efficient and some learn at a later stage of the race. This race is hard and we somehow push through to continue racking up our miles. Maybe some quit the race and are not seen again. As we encounter the entire spectrum of feeling we advance on this race, some of us are lucky to either find the "family" we want to surround ourselves with or even luckier yet have the family that we want to be around! Once we have our family and fellow racers in our pack, we race until we can no longer race! Some of us will know as we approach the finish line while others are snatched away from the race without notice. In your personal race, I beg you to acknowledge what and who you care for and let them know! This sometimes beautiful cruel race absorbs us without our knowledge and we do not give praise soon enough!
