    #2 2. Rare Steak / Phở Tái

Absolutely delicious! The broth was so good. I had been hesitant to try this place because of the previous reviews but I'm glad we finally tried it. Definitely going to be my go-to spot.

Pretty solid Vietnamese restaurant... been here 3 times over the past month to try the staples..... Visit 1 - special pho with Chicken and shrimp. Soup was good, nice size portion, came with all the extras to add into the soup.. flavor was great!! Visit 2 - Vermicelli Noodles with beef Another great dish, vegetables were fresh, beef was tasty.... Portion size was great as well. Visit 3 - Beef Banh Mi This is the 1 item that I felt off from my usual Vietnamese sandwich experience.... The bun felt more like a hoagie bun instead of a crispy French baguette... the bread was a little soft.. there was lots of beef on the sand which, more than other places I tried. But the vegetables were different.... Overall the sandwich was good, but don't think I would order it again from here... Everything else was great and highly recommended!!!

This review is for takeout. We needed some pho soup on a rainy cold Monday night so we decided to try somewhere new and closest to home. I came by around 5:30 and ordered a #3 pho soup with beef broth. It had everything except meatball. Hubby loved it. They packed it well and with all the condiments. I noticed the restaurant was nicely decorated. They had plenty of seating. I was a bit surprised to see that in an empty restaurant they had several tables with dirty dishes on top. I would definitely come back to try more menu items.

When it comes to Asian restaurants, I am a tough critic. I'm hard to please because I grew up in SouthEast Asia, and I really hate when Asian restaurants 'Americanized' their dishes. I want the real thing. :) Anyway, this review is based on their take outs. I went in and I asked what's good. She recommended the chicken and shrimp pho, and that's what I ordered, but I wanted it spicy. How spicy? She asked. I replied, "Make me cry." I received my order in 5 mins. Everything is packed separately. I love it. The chicken and shrimp pho is so good. The broth is seasoned and flavored well. The rice noodles is cooked perfectly. I am so glad that Thai chili pepper was used for heat, and not chili flakes. It was spicy good. And yes, I cry... wiping snot and all. And my lips are numb for 10 minutes. But that's how I like it, and I got it! Overall, I would definitely come back to try their other dishes. I didn't try the smoothies because, well, it's an Asian restaurant.

My youngest picked pho as her lunch of choice for one of the days last week. Pho Yeah! (PY) was nearby, so PY it was! - Parking - Center lot, plenty of parking - TLC - We were warmly greeted and the lady was very sweet and made sure we had everything we needed. - Noms - Mango strawberry smoothie - My youngest had seen the pic of this smoothie as I was researching and browsing the photos on this page, prior to the visit so of course, she asked for this. I would definitely pass on this on future visits though. It's the artificially flavored powders blended with ice, so it melts fast and just not worth the dollars and empty calories. Using frozen fruit for their smoothies would be low lift and provide way better value. Spring rolls - The rolls they make are pretty long. They make three rolls and cut it in half so it's a pretty big portion, served with peanut/hoisin sauce. The rolls are tightly rolled and are fresh and made to order. Pho tai nam gau - This soup is offered in 2 sizes, small and large. I ordered the large since I was sharing it with my youngest, but although the bowl was in line with large bowls in other pho places, I felt that there was not a lot of noodles for the large size. There was definitely a lot more broth, which I am not complaining about as it was delicious. I always taste the broth as is before I squeeze the sriracha in the soup. I also ordered an extra order of noodles, which came in a bowl of some more broth. It costs about $4 extra. Unfortunately, it was slightly undercooked, it probably just needed one more minute of dunking in hot water, but it was a bit too chewy so we didn't end up eating it. I did let the lady know, so did give me a 10 % discount on the entire bill for the mishap, without me asking, which I thought was nice. Nice to have a pho spot in Chesapeake! Stay safe, Friends!

Best beef pho in Hampton roads!! Love that they give the option for raw beef. The ordering system was very convenient and fast as well.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]So the restaurant is really nice and clean, it looks like they just had it remodeled.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They gave us big cardboard menus, which was fine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have iPads to order from, but when it came time to pay the tap wasn't working and logged out and required a pin to log back in so we sat there forever and nobody came out to help us. I grabbed a different iPad off another table and was able to place our order. They have you pay and tip in advance which I found odd. Cause I'm tipping for a service I haven't received yet. The guy came out several minutes later and asked if we placed our order which we said yes and asked us what we ordered. He brought us our food and then I guess our order finally printed 10 minutes later so he apologized for having to ask us what we got. The pho was okay, the portions were good. The broth lacked that deep bold flavor you expect. The egg rolls were good and everything was hot and fresh. We had gotten water to drink as pho is typically salty and you get thirsty, but we never received any refills, nobody ever checked on us to see how everything was or if we needed anything additional. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall the place wasn't bad but wasn't anything special.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I had a taste for Pho so hubby and I decided to give this place a try. The did not disappoint. Customer service was excellent. Ambiance was nice place is not very big but can still accommodate a nice size party, has seating inside and outside. Our Pho was so flavorful it was Yum Yum Yummy!! I love a good Pho and they did not disappoint. Will definitely be returning again soon. I gave a 4 star instead of 5 because they were out of bean sprouts other than that it would have been a 5.

They have a selection of coffee options and 15-20 breakfast/brunch options to choose from on their menu. You order at the counter and they bring your items to your table. In addition to the regular menu they have a dessert case with a rotating variety of amazing desserts. We tried the carrot cake and the piña colada cake and both were EXCELLENT! (And I'm picky about carrot cake.) I saw they also have another display case for empanadas but they didn't have any in there on our visit. Another bonus is they have vegan chorizo on the menu which is a big win for my vegetarian husband. The servers were friendly and the atmosphere is a breath of fresh air. Latin music playing and clean airy decor. To sum things up... We will definitely be back!!

We ordered the flan latte, island breeze macchiato, and dulcet banana latte for our beverages. For food we got the quesito, pistachio muffin, survivor beach acai bowl, mango guava cheesecake, and lemon blueberry mascapone cake. I wish the specials had prices listed on them. $15 for the flan latte, expected flan on it for that price so was a bit disappointed that there wasn't any on it. The dulce banana didn't taste any banana as well. The food was delicious though. The quesito heated up was warm, flaky, sweet and salty all in one. The lemon blueberry mascapone cake was definitely a light summer bite. I'd stop by again but would ask how much the specialty drinks are before choosing. The staff was friendly and patient.

My husband and I are regulars at Big Ugly but I've never taken the opportunity to try Taxus Street until this week. I tried to come on Monday and quickly learned they were closed, so returned the following day. They operate inside the brewery and have a nice setup in the corner. There is lots of seating - bars and high tops - and it's a great spot for a morning gathering. There was a meeting in the upstairs loft happening during my visit. The barista who assisted me was working solo. She was super friendly and happy to answer my questions. I was glad to hear they offer decaf espresso. I opted to try one of their seasonal lattes - the Mounds Bar latte with almond milk, mocha and coconut cold foam. It took only a few minutes for my order to be prepared. I did find the drink to be slightly sweet for my taste and would ask for half sweet on my next visit. For the lactose intolerant, they have almond and oat milk options. They also have several pastries and some hot food options to choose from like overnight oats and breakfast burritos from Burrito Perdido. I was really pleased with my recent visit and I'll be happy to come back soon!

Battlefield Boulevard, just outside the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake. Having visited their Summit Pointe location before, we were pleasantly surprised by just how spacious this café is. The Great Bridge location offers plenty of comfortable seating, making it an ideal place to meet friends, catch up on work, or simply relax with a great cup of coffee. Their retail area is also much larger, featuring an impressive selection of branded T-shirts, hoodies, mugs, coffee beans, and other merchandise for those who want to take a little piece of Pale Horse home with them. We arrived just before the Saturday morning rush, which proved to be perfect timing. No sooner had we settled into our seats with our lattes than a group of nearly thirty people walked through the door. It didn't take long for the shop to become a lively gathering place. Despite the growing crowd, the atmosphere remained welcoming and unhurried. Whether you're looking for a quiet corner to enjoy your favorite espresso drink or simply stopping by to grab a coffee on the go, Pale Horse has created an environment that encourages you to stay awhile. In addition to an excellent selection of coffee, espresso, and handcrafted lattes, they also offer a variety of fresh baked goods if you're looking for something to enjoy alongside your drink. One piece of advice: arrive early. Word has definitely gotten out about this place, and it's easy to see why. Even if you happen to visit during a busy period and have to wait a few extra minutes, the quality of the coffee and the friendly atmosphere make it well worth your patience. Pale Horse Coffee continues to prove that great coffee is only part of the experience. Comfortable surroundings, friendly service, and a welcoming community are what keep people coming back--and after this visit, it's easy to understand why. !

I truly enjoyed the Belgian Waffle that comes with their house made mixed berry compote and powdered sugar, along with pure maple syrup, and house whipped cream. Good coffee is important, but cleanliness and proper food handling are just as important. I hope they address these issues because the coffee itself has a lot of potential.
