I put some spicy jelly in it and it had a kick to it but not that harsh. My sister had the vermicelli with shrimp and my BIL had the 4 protein Pho. They both enjoyed their meals. We also had the chicken satay and it did not disappoint. Don't sleep on the Vietnamese Black coffee. Better than any American coffee out there. Very rich flavor. The place is clean with plenty of room and great lighting -- and the entire establishment is food focused. Our server helped with teas and plates and we placed our orders. My girlfriend got sweet and sour chicken for her main meal. It was obvious the food was fresh and the dish had been cooked in fresh oil (and only for a short amount of time). The sauce was delicate and subtle, which allowed the flavor of the tender chicken to shine through. And what a plate! She ended up having leftovers for two days. Although I normally order seafood, I love duck and have it once or twice a year. From the menu, their duck dishes looked fantastic. Our server recommended the Peking Duck, which I had always wanted to try. That dish brought Alice Gatsch with it. She is kind and engaging and introduced how I should properly eat Peking Duck. She walked be through the steps of how to prepare the buns with scallion, cilantro, and sauce. I wish I could convey how tender the duck was and how crispy the skin had been. It was incredible and I somehow cleared my plate (and didn't eat for the rest of the day). We cannot wait to return. I tend to call my order in ahead of time and come pick it up - I don't like standing around there too long because too many questions get asked: who are your parents, who do you know, are you dating any good Vietnamese boy, would you like to meet my son/nephew/cousin/friend's kid/boy from good family I've met once before at church/temple/etc... But for the delicious $3 Banh Mi? I'd suffer through those any day. FYI I'm pretty sure it's cash only P.S. Since I automatically revert to Vietnamese when addressing any Vietnamese adults (sounds strange I know since I'm "technically" a Vietnamese adult myself LOL) I actually do not know if they speak English here. But if you can muster up somewhat close to the actual sounds you'll be fine, especially if you've eaten Vietnamese food before.
