What a little Pho gem hidden in El Paso. We have a ton, and I mean a TON of Pho houses up here in Albuquerque and, Pho Tre Bien would rank well within the top spots up here for sure. Actually we had really bad experience in this pho bar. We waited for 30 minutes for the table and waited another over 40 minutes after we ordered the food. When the pho came we don't have forks or chopsticks and can find no where to get until the waitress showed again. Then the clot-fish dish we thought it was a dish but later it came with the rice. I think the fish is good, pho is normal and the amount is average with less meat and veges in pho. Overall bad experience. read more

Yes. This place is authentic and delish. Broth was spot on. Condiments correct - jalapeno, cilantro, sprouts and lime. Service attentive. Pho broth is hard and this was loved and nurtured before it was put in my bowl and brought to me. The chicken was mostly white meat an cut nicely for my chopsticks. The spring rolls were as good as we're used to at our most favorite pho place in Houston. Chili garlic sauce on the table. The place was clean! The atrium is a fun walk through. Huge kio pond! We loved it! You know your kids will too! It's not the easiest place to get to off the freeway. But totally worth the turns to get there. We'll be back. read more

Ventured out for a mommy and son date which is our tradition before school starts. I asked him about his favorite things, how he feels about family, school etc. Pho Tre Bien has virtual menus with QR codes as well as checks temperatures before seating us, so that made us feel a bit safer. Definitely 6+ feet of social distancing for the tables. They seated us outside and it's muggy with all the humidity and there were flies. It smelled slightly rank with all the Koi fish around. AC would have been appreciated. Condiments and chopsticks were individual packets and service was good especially since they got really busy and there was only one server and one hostess. Food came out in a timely manner and hot. There was hand sanitizer and lots of napkins provided. We didn't check out the bathrooms. Food was good, nothing to write home about but hit the spot. Expensive for what it is even in a border town. The boy got some "fun noodles" which is basically a tiny pho with 3 slices of brisket for $7, $2 for extra noodles. I got a banh xeo which is a Vietnamese crepe with shrimp and pork slices for $9. It wasn't as crispy as I'd normally like and filled with raw bean sprouts... normally they should be cooked, but I don't like them either way so I just took them out. There's was like 3 shrimps and 3 slices of pork. The fish dipping sauce had a ton of garlic and jalapenos and was on point. It's something that I can make at home but is a pain to do since I have to make the batter then fry it etc. I always order things I don't want to make at restaurants. We tipped the server well even though I didn't catch her name thru the mask since she was definitely working hard to provide all the tables service and we were all seated so far apart. I think Saigon Taste has better food and is a little less expensive, but I can't figure out their hours, so we came here instead. read more

This place looks like a hole in a wall. There is no entry here sign, we kind of got lost. Eventually, we found our friends and walked in. My jaw dropped. The koy fish pond left me speechless. I stared in amazement at how different it looks on the inside, you would not think about walking in if you were going past. For the first time in my life, the water I ordered without ice was cold, and tasted like fresh water. The vermicelli with skewered chicken was really good. My table mates were all happy with the food. This place gets busy. By the time we left, it was packed, with several people waiting to be seated. Will definitely be going back. read more

I ordered to go items. As I'm waiting to place my order, a worker was rolling the forks and spoons with the chopssticks with NO GLOVES. I watched her bring food to a table and touch a menu, put it back with the pile of menus and back to grabbing the fork and spoon. Her forearm brushed the forks (the part that we put in our mouth). I brought it up to an employee saying she should be handling those utensils with gloves. Disgusted. I've never had springs rolls with lettuce as a filler. Got to my hotel room about an hour later after ordering and came across this. Very disappointing. Pretty sad. Never ordering here again. And the peanut sauce was lacking flavor. read more

It was our first time visiting this restaurant, I enjoyed my Chinese fried rice, very flavorful .My fried rice was with chicken and pork. The chicken pho was ok. Not delicious but it was good. Encouraged by the 5-star reviews of some of my fellow Yelpers, I ventured out to Pho Tre Bien for the first time today. I was not disappointed. Since the parking was very limited (five stalls?) in the front, I opted to park in the back of the restaurant. If you enter this establishment from the back parking lot (photo), you'll go through the patio section with very nice rock water fountain with koi pond (photos) first before going to the maitre d' desk to check in. I opted to be seated in the patio section since it was a very nice day outside. It looked very dim and not-so-inviting inside (that was my first impression). As is often the case when I first visit a Vietnamese restaurant, I usually order pho tai for comparison. Today was no exception, and I ordered a large bowl (photo, $9.95). Perhaps not the best I had, but it was very good. Large bowl was actually large serving unlike some other establishments in El Paso. Broth was very good--again perhaps not the best I had, but it was very good. There was enough vegetable condiments--lime, sweet basil, bean sprouts, jalapeno pepper and Chinese parsley. Service was very good. The young lady, Nelly, was friendly, very pleasant and efficient. I'll come back. Highly recommended. Currently, Gateway East (actually West, too) is a hot mess due to on-going construction project. In and out of this location will require some patience as you have to deal with some traffic. read more

We stopped in here on the way back from the airport after a long day of flying and really enjoyed it!! There was a beautiful large Koi pond on the right as you walk in. They offered indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating had large heaters to keep you cozy, but we chose to sit inside and were seated quickly. The ambiance was very nice with low lighting and easy listening music playing in the background. The food was really good!! We ordered the grilled shrimp spring rolls with a peanut dipping sauce as our appetizer, and then we both had pho as our main course. Hubby had the chicken pho and I had the beef round steak with beef brisket pho. The broth was delicious as well. We will definitely be back :) read more

While awaiting a return flight to San Antonio my friend and I visited a few eateries in El Paso and decided to try Pho Tre Bien.... After the grease settled into my stomach I wish I hadn't .... Yelp reviews kind of threw me off as I expected a tad more from this establishment.. for starters the floor could have been cleaner as I navigated the floor trying to avoid sticky rice and wasted sauce from the door and unfortunately directly under our table. My Friend thought the bathroom could have been cleaner and our table was definitely not wiped down. The meal: The table ordered an order of lumpia ( 5.95 for 4) which were a tad burnt and extremely greasy. My friend was brought and order of spring rolls but had actually requested lumpia and the server seemed as if she didn't want to exchange the appetizer. She thought better of it when she saw the expression on my friend's face and asked the staff in the kitchen and they quickly replaced the order. I decided to try the (8.95) appetizer of (name of which I have already forgotten) ...started with a B for my meal and was disappointed.. it was harder than the typical omelette style that I'm used to and greasy. It had a sprinkle of shrimp and 4 pieces of pork within and was full of bean sprouts, just disappointed... My girls seemed to enjoy their food but I felt robbed at a final cost of $16.26. This is our 3rd time dining here at this restaurant and servers on weekdays always have attitudes. Came in today on a non-busy day of the week. Tuesday. We walked in at around 6:30PM with approximately 5-6 tables being served. Walked in and got sitted at the booth, waited for 5 mins, none of the server came to give us water or anything. I called one of servers attention and just gave me the resting b*tch look if someone will get our order. About 12 minutes later still nothing. All of them were just chit chatting on the corner of the booth by the bathroom. Me and my husband just literally walked out after that It's not even packed yet none of the server came to offer us drink or came back to get our orders for more than 10 mins of us sitting down. Over the years I have visited this establishment many times. Eating here never disappoint. Pho Tre Bien is by far has the best Pho restaurant in El Paso area. Great costumer service. Beautiful location. You can come here and have dinner with live music with a date during the weekend or have Sunday lunch with your family. Pho Tre Bien is also a great place for group gatherings during the work week. I have also had their curry and I enjoy it. I too recommend their mix drinks. FYI They have a very small parking lot at the front of the restaurant and a better parking lot in the back. I also enjoy their beautiful indoor garden and their live coi fish is impressive. We have been coming to this place for a while now and it has been on the decline. It's sad to see the female staff act like it is a privilege to eat here. They made us wait for no reason other than that the waitresses didn't want to wait on more than two tables. Sign of the times I guess no work ethic and horrible attitudes. I blame the management as always they have a lot to do with their poor service. Will be the last time I come here for sure. And will encourage my friends and family to do the same. Where to start... not clean, not good, not fast. In all the world we've traveled and eaten pho, it is beyond me that it took 45-50 min to get our 3 bowls of pho. Pho should never take that long. Plates came out dirty. When the appetizers came out, we had no napkins, asked for some, didn't receive, so I got up and got some myself. No Thai basil served with pho, either. Overall, food was 3/10. Im here visiting and was hankering pho but honestly in the land of tacos and burritos i stayed away since i figured it would be less than par from what im used to... boy was i wrong! I passed this place a few times never stopped. Well today after 2 months of no asian delight i caved and ordered delivery... i got a phone call stating my coconut water wasnt available and that they wanted to change it fir another drink... i choose the lychee even though my heart was aching for viet coconut drink... well it was good and refreshing.. I ordered meatball pho, pork roll and the banana lumpia... when it arrived i was pleased to have ice cream given to me as a compliment. The pho was good and the rolls where fresh and flavorful. We got here maybe an hour before they were closing, usually I don't like to dine in if the restaurant is set to close soon but my wife was craving pho and my daughter wanted chicken and rice. I am so glad my wife insisted on this place, oh my goodness the chicken was soooo flavorful (my daughter and I both got chicken and rice) and juicy. My wife liked her brisket pho as well. I had a couple bites and agree it was pretty good. While there we didn't feel rushed or anything, sometimes when a place is closing soon they want you out so they can close on time lol, but we didn't get that vibe here!
