It's been raining all day and bestie wanted Pho. We were immediately seated and given menu's. He disappeared and quickly returned with waters. So , everything was delicious and we had to go boxes. This place had an amazing Banh Mi (pork), the bread was perfectly toasted, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The shrimp pho broth needed a bit more fat, but all the add ins were nice and fresh. The pork vermicelli dish stole the show. WARNING - the menu - as of this writing - on Yelp isn't accurate! VERY mixed feelings about this place. The food has always been good. However, for someone not in there area or not an old customer, they seem to not care about getting repeat business. I used the menu from Yelp and couldn't finish the order on-line, since it seemed to be a menu for a restaurant in Houston!! The clerk knew this menu wasn't accurate and directed me to Google. I then got the order called in. When I picked it up, I asked if they were going to correct this situation and, long-story-short, No! Go to Google was the response. I had the yellow Curry. We had several orders of Shrimp Spring rolls, Avocado milkshake, Vegan Pho, Vermicelli with Shrimp and Pork. Wonton Soup. All were good-to-great (if my family were writing this, they'd try to rate it 6 of 5!), so no problem there. It just seems they're complacent about their level of business. Maybe that's OK, and they can't handle more, and assume their present customers will keep them afloat. read more

The place has been spruced up a bit since our last visit, while maintaining its casual, friendly ambiance. I got the impression the ownership had changed: Every staff person we saw was new. The menu isn't, and to that I say, "Yay!" We ordered fairly tame: crisp-noodle chow mein...a beef-and-vegetable dish...spring rolls and eggrolls...and rice. It seemed odd to have to ask for rice at a Vietnamese restaurant, but we did. That minor issue aside, GREAT food, good portions, and decidedly our favourite Vietnamese restaurant in town. Our server had a bit of a language barrier, but he was gracious, attentive, and helpful. I wish I knew his name so I could praise him specifically. Pho Saigon might get some server badges made. The boba as such were like hard/too chewy instead of the consistency they are supposed to be. (Giving the boba themselves the benefit of the doubt.) It was a poor meal and they offered no credit. The bird's nest came with raw, uncooked veggies. I asked for soy instead of cooked oyster or fish sauce as a vegetarian ..it was not steamed or had any sauce. I told the server it was not cooked, he did nothing. 20 dollars wasted and will never go bk. I ate 2 eggrolls and no offer on that as a credit..28 dollars total. I had this before and it was not dry or uncooked. The place is plain and stark and not any feeling of good service or good food. My friends food,was ok. It's been 8 months since I had pho and roughly 10 years since I have been to this establishment. The restaurant has changed little from what I recall of my first visit. Pop music played in the background, and was not too loud to be distracting. I ordered the Goi Cuon (spring roll) and Pho Tai Gan (thinly sliced beef and tendons) + meatballs. Compared to a place I frequented for years, the spring rolls were extra large. The wrapping was a bit loose or the roll was less firm, but the roll tasted fresh with the mint adding to the freshness. I'd take this size roll any day, as it provided more to love. The option to order a large pho had long disappeared from the restaurant I frequented back west. As an older guy, I had no business ordering the large. The broth was more lightly flavored and delicate than to what I had grown accustomed, but still tasty. I liked the meat ball slices as they had a good flavor. Lastly, the tendons were huge, some about half the length of a hot dog and thick. I felt bad as I typically eat all of the meat, but I ended up leaving three chunks. The Sriracha sauce on my table was darker and had a bolder taste that I liked. However, I did see the traditional Huy Fong Foods brand on other tables. Service was typical for a Vietnamese restaurant, which is speak up if you need something after the food arrives. Upon entering the establishment we were seated immediately. The restaurant is very small, but the food is Everything! The staff, whom I believe is family owned, was quick, extremely friendly and helpful while selecting our entrees. I made small talk with the family who advised that they were the second owners to the establishment which has been in business for over 33 years. Very reasonable priced items. I love that they offer both Pho and Ramen. I love Boba tea, which they also carry. Today, I opted for Pho Tom and a pineapple Boba. I don't normally order the milk based versions, but the pineapple flavor was yummy. The bowls are a nice size and have a good flavor. Parking can be limited depending on the time you visit. So let me start by saying I would have given them 3 stars if it weren't for the dinghy looking chops sticks and soup spoons. But I just can't get over it. I requested for to go chopsticks. I am kicking myself for forgetting to take pictures but I was in a rush to get to the airport and catch my flight. Very outdated and a little dark inside. My first time coming to this place and it did not disappoint. There is not a lot of parking but the good more than makes up for that. Everyone ordered a Pho bowl. The only gripe I had was that the bean sprouts for the table were brought out on 1 plate. Individual plates were brought once we asked for it though. I was not a fan of the boba tea as it was milky, some may like that. I had the opportunity to taste the vegetarian soup and it was delicious. My vegan friends can eat here which makes me happy. Pho noodles are the best in town. Broth is okay. Meat is average (but there was a lot of it). It's one of the few places that deliver so that's a bonus. They didn't include chop sticks, spoons, or hot sauce which was really annoying. I will have to give them another try another weekend. read more

We were visiting Memphis, and we wanted to try out Pho Luong, since Vietnam Restaurant was so good. However, Vietnam Restaurant was dirty and hot due to a lackof a good A/C. When we arrived at Pho Luong, they were closed, so we quickly decided to go to Pho Saigon. The pictures for Pho Saigon looked good and the food looked authentic. When we started ordering, we quickly learned they weren't so authentic. The server didn't know any Vietnamese, which makes us think Vietnamese customers probably don't dine there. And the server didn't know the ingredients of the dishes, and she looked as if she really didn't want to be there. Maybe we should have just stuck with simple Pho at that point? However, we continued to show pictures based on what was stated on the menu. We wanted to confirmed whether they included some key ingredients that make the dish taste good. The server acknowledged they have the ingredients, so we ordered. Once the dishes did come, we noticed the fish sauce was awful. Being from a family that runs restaurants, good fish sauce is what adds to the flavor of the food. We didn't know what we ended up. They didn't finish mixing the powder for the Thai ice tea, so I finished stirring for them. At least finish stirring those instant powder for me. Next, the shrimp salad didn't include the lotus leaves. We told the server we wouldn't have ordered this then. The server felt bad so she offered rice. Huh? It's like ordering a cheeseburger, but we got a hamburger without cheese. So the server ends up offering us mashed potatoes. The Bun Bo Hue was watered down. It's like ordering Coke, and getting half Coke, half water mix. Lastly, we had to pay up at the register, which is a bit odd. So food truck owners love to show you a screen with your total and the suggested tip amount. This pressures the customer to tip. I really didn't want to tip because we didn't get service and the food was bad. I noticed that the suggested tip is after the tax instead of before the tax. Shame on them. I guess the best thing is the size of the dishes were huge, but that would be the only reason to eat there. read more
