    30. Bun Ga Xao Xa / Lemongrass Chicken Bowl

Don't let the setting fool you. It's in a very nondescript strip mall right off of I-75 but inside you'll find an old school Asian restaurant with Vietnamese decor and friendly service. I ordered my lemongrass chicken bowl to go. It was a very generous serving with very flavorful chicken accompanied by nuoc cham and fresh salad veggies. If you want something different when you're on the road, this is a great place to stop for a bite.

Food was wonderful and service was phenomenal! The interior definitely doesn't fit the exterior but that's a great thing!

Customer service was friendly, preparation time was adequate, serving size was large, but the food was bland. The inside of the eggroll had an odd mushy/soggy texture. The lemongrass tofu and vermicelli noodles were decent but lacked in depth flavor. The salad on the side had no salad dressing. This place has potential but missed some crucial marks.

I went to the BBQ joint next store for my mother in law and immediately went back to town to get my kids and husband when realizing there seemed to be a pretty legit pho restaurant next door I'd never noticed. It's hard to find good ethnic food around this place! (I sure do miss central NC...). Service was kind and attentive. The Bahn Mi sandwich I was craving looked sooo promising, and it was aaaalmost there, but to be honest, even with adding a little fish sauce and some other little spices, I just couldn't draw out any flavor. Perhaps you could blame it on allergies, but I had no problem tasting ALL the cinnamon in my husband's pho. I get that it's a common ingredient, but it was heavy. Now, the sauces provided were a nice touch, the regular cilantro, basil, mung bean, etc. accoutrements were plentiful, a bonus as well, but I really don't know if I'd write home about this place. The depth of flavor wasn't there and I couldn't figure it out. HOWEVER, I would return and try out something new. It beats the competition on Forsyth Dr. I'd pass on the chicken and rice dish for the kids, and just order them multiple servings of the delicious spring rolls and yummy dipping sauce instead! Fresh rolls were your usual, but hey, they were fresh :) loved the sauce as usual too! Oh, and how can I forget YUMMY BOBA DRINK MENU! I'd come just for a spring roll and a Boba snack in the afternoon lol! Why not, right? So all in all I'd give it a 3.5, but round it to 4 stars. It was mostly decent in all other areas of our experience, i.e. unobtrusive ambience, cleanliness, friendliness...so decide for yourself....

" Amazing, Authentic Vietnamese Food " Macon's Pho Saigon is a true hidden gem of a hole in a wall. You're not coming here for the 80s dated decor, ambiance or the hand and foot service - but for the amazing authentic Vietnamese food served by a very hard working family in this locally owned business. Most times, you'll find the husband and wife team at the front counter or taking turns between kitchen And cashier duties while their kids are serving the tables... It doesn't get better or more genuine than that!!! The menu is extensive and can use a little trimming but all Items ordered over time have been authentically tasting while portions have been generous and pricing at a great value. On today's visit, the summer shrimp rolls that came with a house made peanut sauce for dipping ($4.50) were terrific.; as was the #10 extra large eye of lean sirloin pho noodle soup with added mixed vegetables ($15.99). The broth was flavorful and authentic; the abundant complimentary vegetables and fresh mint accompanying the soup was a nice add-on. Every table has plenty of hot, hoisin and other sauces to further customize your dinners at your liking... Pho Saigon is a true " mom and pop " locally owned hidden gem and a five star authentic Vietnamese food experience in Middle Georgia's Macon; yes!

This place okay for me. It's a big place nice picture on the wall. The young man was doing everything. I did see an older lady walking around she could be the owner. I like that they have all kind of sauce on the table a lot to choose from. All silverware are all there too that's a plus for me. There's a lot of selection on the menu. I got a large Pho soup with 2 type of meat and a side of fried spring rolls. The rolls were very good! The pho soup came out to be okay. I don't know about you I like a darker broth. I think they accidentally put tripe on mine. I didn't care for that.

Clean place. I spoke to the owners daughter since she showed up after getting out of school. I asked her where her parents are from. She told me Vietnam. Asked how king they've been here. Daughter told me 12 years. Good for them. They're doing a great job here. The pho bo vien was very good. For those who aren't aware this is the pho with the meatballs. My favorite. Their broth was light. I like all the different varieties. Today I was in the mood for a lighter broth and not too much star or anise. Great job.

Beautiful flavor pallet in the items that I tried. Perfect balance of spice and deep, nuanced flavor. Highly recommend.

Best Pho in Macon. The owner is incredibly friendly and the food is delicious. We come here at least once a week and often times more.

The only thing we would've changed is possibly ordering more because every dish was delicious?…read more Pork egg roll: Crunch, warm, and super tasty. The sweet chili sauce was perfect as well. Braised Wings: The crispy wings and sweet sauce are a must every time. Shrimp fried rice: The Shrimp was well seasoned and juicy. And the fried rice was flavorful, especially with a small splash of soy sauce. Pork Bahn mi: This was our favorite dish. The meat was sweet and tender, the bread warm with the perfect amount of crunch. It was a perfect sandwich. Chicken Curry: We're used to curry with rice on the side, so the noodles with broth was a nice change of pace. The chicken was falling off the bone and we drank every sip of the broth. Strawberry dragonfruit with peach popping boba was a great compliment to the savory dishes as well.

For me personally, the broth needed a little extra help from the add-ins (hoisin, sriracha, herbs, etc.) to really bring out the flavor I was looking for. Once adjusted, it was enjoyable. I will say prices seem to have gone up a bit, but you do get a decent amount of food for what you pay. Overall, it's a reliable spot when you're craving pho.
