I think 3 stars is generous. The Pho was mediocre. The fresh spring roll was all mushy and does not look appealing at all. Taste bland too. Will not be back. read more

Most delicious Pho place in the area! I have tried them all! The food is always fresh and delicious, costumer service can be better but the food is always in point! read more

This is the first pho place my husband and I had tried coming here and was impressed and have continued to go here whenever we want pho. We get the Thai spring rolls and they are delicious especially with the peanut sauce. We get the young coconut and tai iced tea and both are super sweet and large. And great for their price. We order the seafood pho and absolutely LOVE IT. With all the different ingredients inside and the portion for what we pay I say it is 100% worth it. The atmosphere is decent. Not amazing but not horrible. The customer service varys depending on who is working. But the young man who is usually there is a good waiter and they are very prompt with bringing our food out. I don't believe I've ever waited longer than 10 minutes to receive either our drinks appetizers or entrees. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I called an hour before closing to place a to go order. Not even 5 minutes later, one of the employees called me wondering where I was they closed at 830 and they wanted to leave early. He was incredibly rude when I said I was still 5 minutes away. As I was paying for my food one of the employees locked the door and stood there impatiently, waiting for me to leave. When I got home I started to assemble everything and found a fly in my food. The shrimp was not cleaned properly either. Save yourself the money and time. Don't bother with this place. UPDATE: I went back in to get a refund and he was ridiculously rude. After 5 minutes of arguing and telling me I was lying and that I "left the food outside" (what??) he gave me $29 back so I let him know it was $32 and showed him my receipt. In a super condescending tone he asked "well where's the spring rolls? I don't see any here. Do you??" I said I must have accidentally left it at home and again, being ridiculously rude he said "well then go get it. I'm not giving you money until you do" y'all. I would've been fine without the damn $3. It was the way he came at me that made me decide to drive all the way home just to get my money. When I got back with the spring rolls he said "give me your card and my cash." I asked why and he said "you paid with a card. Give me your card" there was no way I was about to trust this guy with refunding the money to my card so I said "I don't have my card. You owe me $2.98 so here's 2 pennies and I'd like my $3, please" he rolled his eyes and nearly threw the money as me. I wanted to punch him in the face. Definitely should've read the yelp reviews first because apparently finding bugs and hair in your food is normal there. Needless to say, I'll be reporting them to the health department and I'll be telling EVERYONE not to go there. read more

Pho Saigon - Vietnamese Near Me - Killeen, Texas

My lover was disappointed when we had to come here with her daughter's friend and family. Apparently a couple years ago there was an incident with cockroaches and an incident with an employee who was using a cell phone that was accidentally left there. She had been boycotting the place ever since. As for me, my experience was ok. Never saw a roach, pho tasted fine. Service could be more friendly but that would help benefit them more than me. I only care that they got my order right and there was nothing swimming in there. Last note, the food was served quickly. read more

Went here a couple weeks ago and the service was beyond horrible. As we're getting our drink orders taken the dude is looking at everything but us or our general area. Surprise, surprise only one out of three drinks was correct. The food was okay at best. I'll probably never return *EXCEPT* their milk tea is amazing and super affordable. So we stop by and try to get a couple to go.. very specifically ask for the regular milk tea, not the boba as I understand there's a bit of a language barrier. He brings out the wrong tea, I let him know that. He goes as far to laugh and look say the other customers and say well isn't that what you said, boba tea? I thanked him and left. read more

The whole experience was just meh... First, the service was unprofessional, unfriendly, and almost downright rude at times. Second, the server said they were out of all the vermicelli dishes, which was strange because I got everything that would have been in the grilled pork vermicelli in some way or form. The spring rolls were good, but that's pretty hard to screw up. I ended up getting grilled pork with rice instead of vermicelli. The pork was good, but was swimming in grease that spread to the rest of the plate. The rice was hard, which is pretty hard to forgive considering this IS an Asian restaurant after all. My companion got pho and there were some less-than-fresh looking ingredients in it, and he didn't seem too pleased with his dinner neither. I'll stick to Pho 9 for my Vietnamese fix from now on... read more

I don't know what all the hype was about cause this place was mediocre--if that! The service was quick and polite. I ordered the #1 which has the combination of meats, rice noodles, and broth. There was only a small quantity of meat in my bowl and an overload of noodles. I also ordered egg rolls and was given only 1 lettuce to wrap my 4 rolls in?! There Thai milk tea taste good, boba was hard though, and I asked for a blended Thai tea but was given an iced Thai milk tea! Finally, my mom used the restroom and she said it was filthy! We got there around 1145 on a Wednesday (and they open at 10). My mom said there were roaches crawling around the bathroom floor and that the floors looked as if they weren't being cleaned daily. Bottom line, not going back there! PHO9 was busy but tasted way better and was cleaner read more

I've been to this place a few times since I moved to Killeen in July 2011. I'm giving it a 4 star based on that fact that it decent Vietnamese food in the middle of nowhere Texas. Some of their stuff is hit or miss. I've ordered the pho tai a few times, and their broth lacks a little flavor. Their thai iced tea is really good, and THEY NEVER GIVE ME FREE REFILLS as other people have posted that this place does this, it's not true. Their spring rolls are really good though, I had their chicken fried rice and it lacked a lot of flavor. I'm Asian and I regret to say I had to add soy sauce to it to make it taste better. It's a really nice clean restaurant. It's good to bring your children to. The workers there always remember us, and they automatically always give us an extra small bowl for our son when we order pho. read more

They get 0 stars. 1. They should invest in an answering machine that at least provides with hours and location. 2. They should update their business hours in Yelp. As for the food, didn't even got to try it. It is not uncommon for restaurant to not pick up their phones. Specially during peak hours and when it comes close to closing. I called at 8:13 pm so I wasn't surprised that my call went unanswered. read more

When I first found out I had to move to Fort Hood, my heart sank. I wondered how I would ever get my weekly to bi-weekly pho fix in an armpit of a town like Killeen. When we actually moved, we were in the Austin area so much, we satisfied our pho cravings there. On a random cold day mid-May, we figured we should try Pho Saigon and stop wondering if this place was any good. Thank you random cold day in mid-May! FREE REFILLS ON THAI ICED TEA! That is reason enough to frequent this place. They give you a pretty massive glass to begin with, but if you somehow finish that first serving, they gladly top it off for you. Cha gio-Fried eggrolls are 2 per order. Crispy, delicious and hot! We tried the baby clam appetizer for $15.00 a mound of baby clams cooked with ginger, onion, garlic, chili, thai basil and cilantro. It comes with two large black sesame seed rice crackers to break apart and scoop. Very tasty, very generous portion. Feeds more than 2 and well worth the 15 bucks. Pho was rich in flavor. Broth stayed hot for a while! Tender meat, and served with all the usual accompaniments, bean sprouts, lime wedges, thai basil, cilantro and sliced jalapenos. We are definitely coming back to try the banh mi! read more

This is an excellent place for Vietnamese food. Their Pho is excellent (although hard to mess this up). They also offer many other Vietnamese dishes. It is clean and spacious. It is a bit pricey, but willing to overlook this as it has been the best place in Killeen so far out of the three I have been to. It reminded me of many of the Pho places in California. Their service is excellent. I thought it was nice the owners were very nice to our children providing extra plates, utensils, and rice for them. read more

This place was a bad experience. We moved from California and back there, there is a surplus of pho restaurants to try. This was the first one we found in the area we moved to and decided to give them a try. Big mistake and waste of money. Broth tasted sweet and was not clean at all. Meat tasted a week old. Ingredients weren't the freshest. And to top it off, one of the staff kept staring at us while we ate. Won't be coming back. read more

I had better Vietnamese food than this place in Hawaii however I go here often because this is the only pho place in the area. The broth of the pho is tasty and the small size is large and the price is average. The egg roll (We call it spring roll in Hawaii) was good but it only comes with two pieces of lettuce. It doesn't include the extra stuff such as some vermicelli noodles, cucumbers and basils. I prefer to wrap my spring roll with the lettuce and extras. There spring roll (We call it summer roll in Hawaii) is good. They DO NOT have papaya salad which is a disappointment because I love papaya salad and I have no idea where to get some in the area. The Vietnamese iced coffee was wonderful and their kiwi juice was tasty. I have not tried their sandwiches yet but I will one day because I love Vietnamese sandwiches. One pet peeve I do have is that they do not have sauce containers at the table so you'll have to ask for it. I mix the hoisin sauce and sriracha together and most of the time I mix it in the pho or on a plate because you'll have to flag them down toward your table once you get your order. read more

I came here with my wife for dinner . The broth was very sweet and warm . The meat tasted spoiled never coming back here again . And the table are sticky and flys are everywhere read more

Fast service and not terribly crowded on a weekday during peak lunch hours. The pho was rapid, and although I only got a Small bowl, it was still very filling. Husband had a ginormous pork platter with fried egg and smattering of vegetables in the center. I had the Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. It wasn't the drip kind, and if it was, they simply serve it to you pre-made/pre-mixed in a glass. They have a large selection of food, so I definitely have to give them credit in that department. I've also tried the pho at Chau's. Chau's menu is tiny compared to Pho Saigon. Both have their merits. Pho Saigon has a larger menu with larger ingredient selection, but I think Chau's broth for his pho was better. I'm curious to try Pho Saigon's boba, but since I hadn't seen any reviews on its bubble tea, I didn't try it. The milk coffee is strong and potent though. Will definitely be back another time. read more

Got the #13 and it was just ok, Loved the thai milk tea. The whole restaurant needs a serious dusting though! There is thick dust on everything even the walls. I felt like a chunk of dust was going to fall in our food. read more

Having moved from Fort Worth, where there are many wonderful Vietnamese establishments, I was GREATLY disappointed by the slim pickings around here. For quite a while Chopstix was the only option for pho, and that was mildly mediocre at best...well, now the tables have turned and there is a new (SIGNIFICANTLY better) option! The Vermiccelli bowl was perfect, the pho was flavorful, and the thai milk tea made me sigh in contentment. I hope everyone who reads these reviews runs right out to support this fledgling business, because I never want to be left with just Chopstix again! Ok, so we go here on the reg. Nothing new as we already like this place, but I just had to add more to my initial review. So we got there this past Saturday about 6 pm. We walked in and there were about eight folks eating. All Asian soldiers from Ft, Hood. lol Now that is a good sign, right? Anyhow, we ordered the pho as usual, and I don't know what it was about this visit, the stock(soup base for the pho) was UNREAL. It was soooo good! I could not stop sipping the soup with a big ol' dumbass smile plastered on my face! You could taste everything in it....just difficult to describe.....go try it yourselves! I don't know how long this dream is gonna last so I will go there even more often now to get as much as I can! Review increased to five stars. :) read more

Sorry worst customer service ever!!!!! If you get a peek into the kitchen area you'll be shocked on the disgusting mess they have. Plus the guy cashing me out is also the one preparing the ice tea. Had been coming here for a while but not anymore. read more

Walking into Pho Saigon I felt like I was back on South Tacoma Way in my hometown where Pho shops are a plenty, and good Asian food restaurants are so common that good food just becomes the average and what we expect!! So this being Killeen and anyone who has driven around the area knows what i mean when i say that i was very impressed! The food arrived very quickly and was nice and fresh . We had A large pho, bbq pork sping rolls, tofu spring rolls (2orders), Chhay (Vegetarian) fried rice, tofu vermichelli bowl, pot stickers, fried pork chop rice plate, chicken fried rice and a kids plate all for around $50....I left stuffed and even had a take home plate! Also i was very impressed at there selection as well as there quickness to accommodate my request for certain changes to dishes because i am a vegan! The only thing is that it is in a pretty crappy part of town, but i would go there any day for there food. It has definitely made me say that there actually is a good place to get asian food in killeen. I was so happy with there quality of food as well as there service that i now have to stop myself from going there everytime i get hungry and actually push myself to go explore what else this town has to offer, kinda hard though when you finally find something good after searching around everyday for a month....lol read more

Went here with my husband and my youngest daughter today for lunch, I ordered spring rolls as an appetizer and a large #1, the husband ordered the broken rice dish with fillet mignon (can't remember the name). The waiter forgot my spring rolls and brought me my phó right away. I asked him for a bowl for my 1 yr old so I can share my phó with her. He brought out the bowl but no scissors to cut the noodles with. Now before you read my little rant about the scissors I have to ask you how and when was the last time you fed a one year old spaghetti length noodles? Every phó place that I have ever been to brings scissors. I tried to flag the waiter a couple of times and even though I made eye contact he ignored me. When another waiter came by I asked him if I could have some scissors he said sure. Never came back. My husband had to get up to ask for some scissors before finally someone brought some. With the kiddo finally fed I could eat my phó, broth was a bit bland to me but nothing a ton of sirrancha and a little hoisin could fix. There wasn't a whole lot of meat in the phó and the meat balls were think slices. What's up with that? Tiny slices of meat balls instead of them being cut in half irked me. There were a decent amount of noodles and the salad plate that came out with the phó was actually fresh. My husband's only complaint was that he didn't like the giant globs of butter on his steak. They were like Paula Deen sized butter chunks. He did like the food once the giant globs were moved to the side.No refills on our ice teas though. When we were paying our bill the employee read to us what we ordered, he said spring rolls, the ones I never got. I told him I ordered them but never got them, he apologized and got them to go. Now the spring rolls are not as big as the ones I am used to back at home but they did taste good and they had shrimp and pork in them which is traditional and was a pleasant surprise since a lot of places like to skimp on the pork. All in all the food is mediocre and the service sucks. I prefer the phó at Chau's Cafe, the owner is awesome and he has phó and spring rolls and the best boba drinks in the area. read more

Ordered the pho (#13) with flank and beef. Soup: pretty good, but salty as seems to be pretty typical with most ethnic foods around here. Wasn't overly oily and tasted pretty good if you overlook the saltiness. Beef: was ok, some pieces were entirely fat and some others were all gristle. Overall not bad though, just pick those prices out. Vegetables: the pho came with a good quantity of cilantro, limes, bean sprouts, jalapeños and some other fresh herb. Good quantity and quality here. Noodles. The noodles weren't fully cooked, texture was on the uncooked side of al dente. Overall the restaurant wasn't bad, wish the noodles were a better quality and cooked better. I don't think I'll be going back though. read more

This was my first time here around 11:15 on a Thursday. Upon entry, I was immediately sat down and given a menu. Shortly thereafter my drink was requested and before I had the chance to look through the entire menu the guy was back asking what I wanted to order. I ordered summer rolls and well done flank and beef Pho. The place was clean and neat. The condiments on the table were clean and organized which is a plus because some places bottles are disgusting. Food: Small bowl of Pho is huge. Veggies were decently fresh but onions could have been fresher (light brown tint). The beef was well done but lots of fat and not much meat mostly noodles. The broth initially tasted like filtered water. What do I mean? Some faucet water has distinctive tastes and I tasted that. The more I ate it the less I was able to notice it. The summer roll was decent. It was stickier than in use to and I was thrown off when I tasted meat in there with the shrimp. 2. So I wanted a bubble tea with tapioca. The young thin guy who is mentioned in many reviews was there in the flesh. I ordered the strawberry tapioca (lots of misspellings on the menu... Strawberry was misspelled lol) well I was surprised to see a strawberry tea drink with tapioca and other thing floating in there. I asked the guy "what is this? He explained it was tapioca, jellies and other stuff which I didn't ask for. I asked him about the normal bubble tea and he told me I wouldn't be able to find the smoothie type bubble tea anywhere in Killeen (I don't believe this guy) anyway he said "just try it and smiled." I'll try almost anything once so I took it and photo'd it in the car before I drank it. It tastes like strawberry tea with tapioca and fruit. Not bad but not what I was expecting. Overall a decent experience here and the prices are regular priced. Fast service and quiet environment for lunch. read more

We arrived about 7 in the evening. Lots of seating so we were greeted, immediately seated with menus ready to be assessed. It's a pretty cold evening so soup was the perfect dinner choice. However, I didn't order soup. I ordered a grilled pork banh mi. My son had the beef fried rice, hubby had some soup that consisted of pork and tofu, the other two sons ordered the kids menu soup. First of all, I LOVE that they offer a kids size soup. It literally is like a mini pho. The portioning wasn't too little for my 6 year old, and more than enough for the 2 year old. I tried it myself and it was pretty good...for a kid. My son's fried rice was basically fried rice....and bits of deep fried beef dropped on top of the entree. I didn't try it myself so I can't tell you what it tastes like. What I can tell you is my brother ordered the pork version, didn't finish it...and at the bottom of my son's fried rice was a pool of oil. But by then...he had eaten most of it. Once I looked.over to see how much he had eaten, and the plate was becoming exposed to notice the oil...I told.him to quit eating. My banh mi isn't like the ones I am used to eating in LV and in HI. It literally looked 4 inches long; yet, it was stuffed with meat and the usual banh mi vegetables. BUT...this one had peanuts in it. Never had a banh mi with peanuts. More so, I'm allergic to peanuts. It was just ahhhhh-ite. Oh, as for the husband's soup...he says, it was okay. My mom ordered pho and didn't enjoy hers. She's pho queen...swear she should have her own pho eating channel. Lol. She wasn't impressed. Service is just ahhhite as well. Pretty simple, get your drink order, meal order, serve, and wait until your done to clean your table off. Didn't get checked on, offer any refills, and when we asked for our check...the waiter sitting down staring at his phone looks up and tells us, oh...you just pay up there. So note if you don't know the rules, upon finishing your meal...don't sit around waiting for someone to come to you...get that booty up off your chair and pay the guy at the cash register--duh! If you are in the vicinity, and decide pho is what you want...give it a shot. They're pretty expensive compared to the pho places I've been to back in LV, and they don't taste allll that great. Not a place I'd go out of my way just to eat. There are other pho places in town to give a shot first, then you can decide for yourself. read more

I decided to go with the Beef Pho #8 with varies meat. First the environment was pretty nice, quiet and to the point. They greeted me as soon as I came in and promptly sat me down and took my order. When he asked small or large I didn't know what to expect so I said Large...Needless to say this was a TON of food for a great price I was impressed. Overall it was great, my only complaint was the noodles were pretty much all stuck together when I received the dish and had to spend 4-5 minutes breaking it all apart. Beyond that everything tasted fine the broth is slightly bland in flavor and could use some zest but thats probably what all the extra stuff at the table was for (soy sauce, fish sauce, etc) Staff was very friendly and the price was phenomenal. I will definitely be visiting this place again to try some of the other dishes but as far as I'm concerned the #8 on the Pho list was good. read more

Relatively authentic Vietnamese food served by friendly Vietnamese people, in coma-inducing portions. That's right! I said, "authentic," and not "atrocity," which is what I call that thing listed as "pho" on the menu at Chopsticks. They're listed as open until 10PM, but I've quit showing up after 9:30PM since they close early sometimes. -1 star for their prices, but this is Central Texas (read: limited pho eatery options), so I'll keep coming. read more

Service was okay, we were almost finished with our meals and water before they came back to refill our glasses. Food was okay, spring rolls were brought out almost immediately. I found this place a few months ago (THANKS TO YELP!) and have frequented it several times. I always order a giant bowl of pho, and my boyfriend always order the grilled pork with rice. Last night however we ordered our usual and a plate of the grilled beef with rice, and an order of the chicken spring rolls that comes with spicy peanut sauce. The spring rolls were YUMMY! I have to say the grilled beef, although a dollar or two more is not as flavorful as the pork with rice. I think it has to do with the cut of the meat. The pho broth also depends on the day, although always good, some days are better than others. I guess some days I feel the broth is more developed than other days, I don't know how else to explain it. We always order three dishes (one bowl of pho for me, two orders or grilled pork with rice, one dish for my boyfriend and one for our daughter) but my boyfriend and I always end up finishing up our daughter's plate. She's 19months and loves rice and grilled meat but she doesn't eat much more than a few slices of meat and a little bit of rice. I've read the reviews and everyone keeps mentioning that this place is pricey. I don't find that that is the case. It may be pricey compared to other Vietnamese food places, but over all, you could easily spend just as much if not more at other "American" restaurants and the food and atmosphere is nowhere near as good as here. We're low key people and tend to avoid "busy" atmospheres. This place is quiet and casual, just how we like it! We spent $33 and some change on three dishes and an appetizer. I ordered a pot of hot tea (unsweetened) and my boyfriend had two cans of sodas. We left them $40 and it was worth every penny. This place is a keeper and we will continue to come here. read more
