Good Vietnamese food, good value! My friends and I were in town for a wedding and wanted to find a place for lunch before heading to the airport, and a quick Yelp search turned up Pho Royal. Given the positive reviews, we agreed to give it a try- and we are glad we did! The staff was attentive and friendly with our mixed requests of hang over food- fresh coconut drinks, as well as wine was available to us. The table ordered pho and rice dishes. The Pho was decent, although I had to add some Sriracha and Hoisin sauce to the soup for flavor. I have had better on the West coast, but it was good for what it was and for the area. Spring rolls were tasty and the rice dishes smelled divine. We all agreed- we would be back, given we were back in the same area again! read more

Having lived in the Northern Virginia area for a year now. We had the most difficult time find pho places that are actually good. This place is absolutely the best in the area! The fried egg rolls were crispy and delicious and their pho was amazing! I highly recommend! read more

My go-to for pho, on par with anywhere I've been in the area, and I've been getting pho since 1992 or so down at the original Pho 75 in Arlington. Plentiful bowls here, with a hearty broth, and they don't skimp on the meat and sides. I advise getting the bean sprouts steamed -- and last week when I went to Pho Royal, although I hadn't been there for months and I forgot to ask for the bean sprouts steamed, they remembered. Now that's service. (They also remembered the nuoc beo (broth/oil).) I would prefer the old-school Vietnamese iced coffee with the drip thing on the cup -- like, as I recall, at Pho 75 -- but still their iced coffee is great. And plenty of other drinks -- try the salted lemonade, which goes well with pho. I've had some of the non-pho dishes, and they've all been great. Plus, getting to the restaurant is quick and easy -- they're right off 7 -- and parking is plentiful. read more

This place is super good for pho. The broth for both chicken and beef pho is nice and rich. The meats are pretty dry alone as are most pho restaurants. The crispy spring rolls are amazingly delicious. The filling for the rolls is very flavorful with a nice delicate balance of meat and veg. We also ordered the lemon grass beef with vermicelli noodles which was kinda dry but we plied it with hoisin and srirachi which made it a little more palatable. Overall, this place is a solid pho restaurant. Would return for rainy weather pho time :-) read more

First time going here tonight. Very pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor. I've had pho at several other local Favs, and while this one is out of my way I'll certainly be going back. The broth was flavorful and robust, the meat was tender fatty and delicious (more so than my go to Pho 75 in reston, sorry guys) The Vermicelli was also more flavorful than I'm used to. The menu was fairly standard save for some more specialty drinks and deserts, but overall my take away was that the ingredients and flavor were just... better overall. read more

I loved this place for one reason and one reason only. The menu categorization. They make it real simple. they have 4 categories: 1. Beginner Pho for people who are just starting out on their pho journey or who like the more healthy cuts of beef. 2. The more adventurous section for those who want to play it up a little. 3. The Full Brisket section for those who 'crave pho' or 'want the full experience. the fourth section is the kids and chicken section on the back of the menu. This is a great idea and it would have helped me out a lot to know this much earlier in my pho eating career instead of trying to piece it all together in bits and pieces from other reviews. In short, in one simple document, they made order out of chaos. 3 of the dining company ( note not a single Pho Force representative actually showed up - it was all Like Minded Lunch People ) went for #17 - the Pho Special. Bascially a bit of everything . I loved it. The tendon and other bits were all soft like the gelatin coating you get on a fine pate in a magnificent parisian bistro, which , bearing in mind the august company I found myself amongst, was exactly where I thought I was. If you squint your eyes ( and drink enough) you can certainly see a bit of the Champs Elysee in the Leesburg Pike. I loved my Pho - a wee bit browner and less intense than others I have had, but perfectly reasonable, and the way they helped me organize my knowledge forgives any other oversights. The first time I had the meatballs in Pho and I loved them. Speaking of a wee bit browner, Lester has certainly been getting plenty of sun recently. thank God he was wearing shorts as I am pretty sure there is a thong tan mark under those cargo pants. 3.5 stars The pho here is quite good, but I just can't get over the cost of $7.95. That is just so high compared to most other places, and it's not so much better that it warrants that price. The meats were kind of lacking, but the broth flavor was excellent. The spring rolls were pretty poor I thought. I'm not really in the area a whole lot so I'm not sure of a suitable alternative. Maybe this is the best Sterling has to offer? There is certainly better (and cheaper) bowls of pho out there, but you could do a lot worse than at Pho Royal. read more

I'm a fan of Pho Royal-- here it's all about the broth! I can't say much for the ambience of any of the Pho restaurants I've frequented in the NoVA area, as most of them are cafeteria style with little in the way of style or atmosphere. Pho Royal was no exception--everything is functional rather than designed for comfort which facilitates the goal of bringing customers in quickly, serving them a steaming bowl of savory goodness, and sending them on their way. Service was efficient in seating, serving, and bringing the check to patrons who are drawn by the dozens during the winter months--and was provided with a smile. The quality of the pho on this visit was PHO-nomenal. For me, it's all about the broth! I love the savory, clear earthiness of the beef broth here--like a French consommé with a punch of cinnamon and star anise, cloves and cardamom, onions and roasted ginger. My dining companion tried the Pho Ga, which had aromatic chicken broth rather than the beef base offered at other Pho places in the area. The toppings were present but not in copious quantities--we received a small pile of green onions, white onions, Thai basil leaves, fresh Jalapeno (not Thai chili) peppers, lime wedges, bean sprouts, and cilantro. When I requested a bit more, the server graciously complied. On a cold, nasty Winter day in NoVA, I couldn't have chosen a better place to lunch! read more

Pho Royal is hidden on top of a hill overlooking Route 7 in Sterling and boasts the best Pho in the Dulles/Sterling area. Sysadmins universally worship the Pho goodness and we have ranged all over the Dulles area in search of the ultimate Pho. I was turned on to this place by a Vietnamese co-worker who heard of our quest. Since going to Pho Royal, we continue to return after trying new places and being disappointed. It's now the default Pho lunchtime destination. This is real Pho. The decor is bare bones and the menu is simple. Pho. Everything else is a sideline. A crowded room of mostly Vietnamese diners brands it as authentic. The focus is on the broth. It is amazingly deep, with the aftertaste having an aftertaste. This is no Americanized, modern Pho franchise broth. This is something to remember. The soup shows up much too hot to eat or touch. The thinly sliced beef cooks in the broth while you watch. All you can do is poke at the soup and blow frantically for a few minutes. The communal platter of soup toppings is present, heaped with fresh limes, chili peppers, bean sprouts and basil. My usual soup additions are two squeezed slices of lime, a bunch of basil and some chili sauce. For the brave, the chili peppers are fun to munch on. I always have some soybean milk handy, just in case. At about this point, manners are abandoned and the table dissolves into a frantic noodle slurp-fest. The spring rolls usually arrive too hot to eat and are delightfully crispy. The shrimp and pork summer rolls are rolled recently and are not chilled (chilling makes the skin unbearably tough). Service is haphazard, as it should be in these places, and you get chopsticks by default, also a comforting sign. The serving bowls are huge. You'll do just fine with a "small" bowl. No one in our group has ever been able to finish a "large". Outside of Eden Center or other Arlington area locations, this is the best Pho we have been able to find in the north-western DC suburbs. read more

This is my brother-in-law's and his father's favorite Vietnamese stop when they feel like having pho. I thought that the owners were friendly, the service was quick, the dining area and the women's restroom were clean, and the food was good. Of the items our group of five had ordered, I remember grandma exclaiming that the Shaky Tofu was quite tasty; sister said the Pad Thai was good, but not as good as the one from 4912 Thai Cuisine- I can attest to this as I have tried both; and my roasted quail was exquisite! However, quails being such tiny creatures, consuming one made for a messy adventure, and to quote my bro-in-law, "It's like eating unshelled crabs... too much trouble for such little meat," or something to that effect. The quail sat on top of a salad and was covered with a special house sauce that was spicy, sweet, and salty all at once. I didn't even need the secret spice-salt-pepper combo that came on the side. Everyone who tried a bite of my quail enjoyed it, and I can't wait to order it again on my next trip; that is, if I don't find something else on the menu that sounds as appetizing. read more

This is my new Pho spot in Loudoun county. I have tried several of the Vietnamese/Pho spots in town and have always left full, but not impressed. Pho Royal was the turning point. We decided to take the recent cold weather as an opportunity to get a big ol bowl of steamy Pho to take the chill off. After checking out the Yelp to review the local joints I saw Pho Royal toppin' the charts and happened to be right around the corner from where we were out running errands. We went in and were pleasantly greeted by the guy runnin the show. We ordered: one B7 -- vermicelli bun with beef/chicken/pork and spring roll one Pho #12 (everything but meatballs and tripe) one summer roll (i think they called it garden roll, actually) First thing was the summer roll, we were happy to see the man bring out two bowls of peanut sauce for us to dip in. It was slightly warm and was one of the better dips for spring rolls I have had... it had a little more too it and had chopped up peanuts in it. The sauce was so good, we decided to hang on to them for dunking some of our meat from the main course. The roll themselves were really good. had a good amount of shrimp, mint and noodles. The noodles were cooked really well (a huge pet peeve is when we get summer rolls and the noodles are undercooked -- gross). These were done really well, though, admittedly summer rolls just aren't my favorite thing in general -- the gf loves them though; so they were a win. The Pho was the winner of the day in my opinion. The broth was, to my taste buds, PERFECT. It was so well balanced and was rich without being too heavy, you could taste the spices without being overpowered with spices like taking a shot of five spice powder. It really was the best broth I can recall ever having and I've eaten pho in at least a dozen local places. The meat had that glorious shade of pink peeking out of the broth which just screams "dunk me in this brothy hot tub big man!". The Vermicelli was great as well. Once again, the noodles were cooked perfectly. All three of the grilled meats were really tasty. I thought the pork was the best, then the chicken, then the lemongrass beef. All three were good, and I was surprised the chicken beat out the beef for my taste buds, but hey, all the more reason I was happy they offered a 3 meet combination bun! The server did a good job keeping the drinks refilled. They had the full selection of sauces on the table, Sriracha, fish sauce, chili paste, hoisin/plum sauce, and even soy sauce -- which I normally don't see, but hey, I like soy sauce so bring it on -- i'd use it if I got a rice dish. Guys..what happened to Pho Royal? It's been my go-to pho joint since moving to this area 4 years ago. Got takeout from there a couple of weeks ago, & the sauces for the Pho Royal sampler were..off. The peanut sauce was thin & vinegar-y; the sweet chili sauce didn't taste right either. But no matter, the soup was good. WELL EARLIER TONIGHT, I picked up my usual order: one large mixed beef soup, one large chicken, one Pho Royal Sampler. The *toppings* for the soup were excellent: fresher even than usual & a hugely generous amount. The sauces for the appetizer seemed like before. The prices had gone up a little, but who cares, as pho is generally cheap. But then I drank the broth of the beef soup..and..heartbreak. It's not the same. It's less rich, less complex, less anise or cinnamon-y. Something's really off. The flavor was one-note, not even properly salty, really. The previous Pho Royal chicken broth was also rich & fairly deep for a chicken broth: it could've rivaled any of the matzoh ball soup broths I'd had in NYC. So I tried the chicken pho broth I'd bought tonight, in hopes that maybe it was my taste buds that were off. Nope. What I remembered from before wasn't what I sampled tonight. Tasted more like instant chicken soup than a broth built from stock; had an underlying sweetness almost. I immediately said: they've been bought. This broth is just not the same broth. & it had a couple of hairs in it! What the hell. That's not happened in the years I've bought food from Pho Royal. My boyfriend disagreed, he said they could've had an off night. Between the slight difference couple of weeks ago & the price change I was certain something was up. I fished the menu I'd grabbed out of my to-go bag and, I was right: it's not Pho Royal anymore - or rather, they have partnered up with a place called "The Pho". Same location. IDK if this also applies to the Pho Royal in Leesburg, but I'll be calling them tomorrow to find out. I'll definitely be giving this place its own review. :/ Today is a day of sorrow. RIP, Pho Royal of Sterling. It's unclear from "the Pho"'s website, but someone bought someone. When you click on "locations", it shows both Pho Royal locations (Sterling, Leesburg) & "The Pho" in Ashburn as being the same thing. I came here Friday lunch time but some how there was no crowd.. only 4 customers (2 tables) were there at the time. I ordered a special pho (small) and a grilled chicken rice vermicelli (bun) with spring roll. They are both awesome. The only thing small about the pho was the bowl. It's in fact so full I can't put much bean sprout in there. The grilled chicken must be the best one I've ever tasted. Highly recommended! Oh, they also take visa and master card too read more

On our way back from Leesburg Corner Outlets, my girlfriend and I were looking for a dinner spot. Since she's a Pho freak, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to try this pho place. I had read a couple of reviews and remembered the name as we flew by on Route 7. The pho is pretty good for being out on the fringes of northern Virginia civilization. It's not often that I'm out this far but if I lived out here, I would definitely stop by more often. Still not as good as Pho 75 but a decent substitute. The broth is very tasty and the noodles didn't taste old. My gf wanted to point out that the onions in vinegar were the tastiest that she found in the area. Service was pretty good and the restaurant was clean. This place takes credit cards but you have to spend at least 10 dollars. Had I written this review 3 years ago when I first tried this place out I would have given it 5 stars. The reason I'm docking a star is because I feel like their portions have gotten smaller, the difference between large and small is barely perceptible. That being said, this is some good pho! The broth is heavenly, a great balance between the star anise, onion and beef flavor. It has great little pools of oil, an indicator of good broth. The noodles are always done just right and the meat is always fresh tasting and tender. I came here way before Lent, but am just now getting around to writing this. As soon as Lent is over I'm going back, I think I'm going through withdrawal symptoms! Service is always fast and efficient. This place is always packed. I also love that they have great Vietnamese coffee with the drip-thingy to let your coffee steep while you eat. This is also one of the places where I've actually eaten raw onions, they serve slices with vinegar, topped with sriracha and it's actually tasty! Your breath will reek, but it's all goooood. They also serve spring onion bulbs in the pho broth fat/oil. I've yet to acquire that taste, but my friends chomp down on them like I do olives. They also have Tiger beer, it's light tasting but it will kick your ass too, I like. read more

A regular here over the years even though the service was sub-par, but the pho was really good until today. Halfway through my large pho, I saw a dead roach in my bowl. Yikes!!! I always knew 95%asian restaurants are filthy in the kitchen, But I continue to eat there out of convenience and not knowing how to cook. I used to be a waiter for many Asian restaurants, I know. My fiancé and I were looking at neighborhoods to possibly move to. We got excited that Pho Royal is in a good neighborhoody spot. I have been eating pho for over 15 years and this was the nastiess experience I have had. First of all they don't have thai iced tea. What pho place doesn't have thai iced tea? We ordered the shrimp "garden" spring rolls. They come with disgusting meat in them. I'm a vegetarian. The pho was disgusting and greasy. Pho Royal was actually a referral of a Vietnamese Co-Worker, and if he likes it, the place must be good. It wasnt just good, it was fantastic. I have now been several times! As previously mentioned by other reviewers, the restaurant is clean and bright. When you walk in, you are immediately seated (if you get there before or after the lunch rush) and you can order as quickly as you want. Typically I order the same thing (you know...the white girl bowl....Pho Tai) and spice it up a bit with some Sriracha hot chili sauce and peppers and perhaps a shot or two of the Hoison Sauce. Since I'm not a fan of cooked bean sprouts I typically leave those out. Then the yummy goodness begins! The noodles are perfectly cooked, and the broth has amazing flavor. Like with most Pho...be warned of the size of the servings! The large is HUGE, so I always order the small, which is still a ginormous bowl! Not only is Pho an awesome hangover meal, but its such a good and healthy lunch/dinner! I would give this place 5 stars, but everytime I've gone, I've had to go to the counter to get the check because they dont seem to staff enough people in the restaurant. read more

I have now worked in Ashburn for 6 days and have tried the 2 closest local Pho spots. The broth at Pho Royal was heavier and richer than most of the other broths that I have tasted. I really had my heart set on trying this place today but then I ate a large handful of chocolate cake at 10am so I wasn't gapingly hungry so I ordered a small bowl of Pho Tai but then as soon as my brain realized that my mouth said SMALL, it thought that automatically meant that I was ordering crispy rolls so my mouth heard this and then I ordered them. Rolls were just OK. Not as good as the Pho Cyclo rolls. They were narrow, a little pale looking and the filling was kinda mushy in texture. I wouldn't order again. The Pho Tai was excellent. Good portion of noodles and meat for a small, little pricey for a small at $6.95. The broth was great. Very rich and dark but not in a bad way at all. Like I said before. totally different from the usual light, clear broth. But still very good. I have to try Bistro again to narrow em down. Oh yeah and they take credit cards but only for orders of more than $10. That sounds like a good excuse to order crispy rolls to me! read more

I ate here partially based on the solid Yelp reviews. There's a problem: 1) you reviewers don't know squat about Pho, or 2) this place was having a bad night, or 3) Pho Royal has gone downhill fast. My soup wasn't hot, my "fresh garden rolls" came out deep fried, and the surly staff made me uncomfortable. I sent the rolls back for the ones I ordered. When my soup came out, it could best be described as 'slightly warm'. It's cold out tonight and I was looking for my expected steaming bowl. The bowls here are shallow and the soup managed to cool off even more from the tepid temperature at which it arrived. The smallish bowls also make their large bowl the equivalent of a small bowl at other joints. The noodles were knotted up in a solid, cold, gelatinous lump under the meat. I get it: the bowls are pre-loaded with the noodles hours earlier. When you pick your meat choice, the kitchen plops the meat on top, then they get a dipper to ladle on the broth. However, the noodles had obviously sat so long they simply melded into a slimy mass that the lukewarm broth couldn't untangle. Pho 75 in Reston is still my favorite. I gave this place a try because it's near my apartment. I'll make the drive to Reston next time I need my Pho fix. This place is awful. read more

* 2.5 stars * Boyfriend and I went for dinner on a weekday and we were excited to try Pho Royal from the reviews. However, our expectations fell short. The broth wasn't very rich or flavorful.. we added more sriracha and plum sauce than we usually do. Also, the sriracha seemed watered down which should never happen! There was plenty of meat in the pho but not enough noodles, and at the end I was left wanting more. My boyfriend ordered a large bowl and extra meat, and he wanted to go get more food afterwards.. It looked like the only thing he had more of in his bowl than my small one was more broth. The spring roll was also just okay. It was decent as spring rolls go, but it tasted dough-y. Service was fine and the place seemed relatively clean, except for my chair that had crumbs all over it and I had to wipe it down myself. There are too many good pho places that are closer to my house that this place just wont make the list again. read more

Where ever my vietnamese friends go, i will follow. Neal seems to be a big fan of Pho Ga, well so am I and this place has the best by far. What Neal did not mention (or probably even noticed) was the 3 different types of Pho Ga. Say what? yeah i know, it's no longer the singled out, last item under Pho section. It is being recognized and respected as a piece of beef. They offer Pho Ga in choices of meat/ cut. Your choices are 'all white, half dark & half white or all dark'. Please do yourself a favor and order the half & half. Still do you better than a cheeseburger from Miky D's. read more

I'll preface this review by saying that I am always down for a quality bowl of pho and for some good, authentic Viet food. I'm not an expert by any means, but I've had enough around the country to have a decent understanding of good vs. not-so-good Viet staples. Pho Royal gets the food right and fresh. The pho broth was clean and flavorful, the meats were plentiful, and the vegetables were fresh. I also ordered the garden rolls, which were quite big in size (larger than most other places anyway), and they were great. In short, you'll be happy with the quality here, as the food is prepped quickly and well. I must note that the prices are a slight bit higher than its counterparts in Eden Center, but that's the premium you'll pay for having pho in Sterling, I guess. Will be going back here for my local pho fix. read more

Big place and excellent customer service. Got greeted as soon as I came in. Ordered Chicken Pho to go, and I can't say that I waited more than 5-7 minutes. The chicken, onions and cilantro were in a tray, the broth in a container and sprouts with other spices and lime edges in a bag. Got a lot ! I couldn't finish the Pho. Serviceable Pho, but truly weird service and a cafeteria like atmosphere. A server takes your order and delivers it promptly, but good luck getting help with condiments or assistance. When I asked one for some Splenda for my iced tea, the server returned with 65 packets of that pink horrid tasting stuff. Uh, no thanks. I arrived for a late lunch and half the tables hadn't been bused, giving the impression of disarray and uncleanliness. No diner wants to walk into a restaurant and see that -- you gotta sweat the small stuff like that if you want people to come in or come back. The Vietnamese spring rolls were deeply delicious. Perfectly fried and stuffed with superbly tasty meat. The dipping sauce was so good I poured it into my Pho broth. The Pho was...okay (I got the small, which was plenty), but overloaded with starchy noodles. I could have used more tripe and meat. The side jalapenos were rubbery, old and thus scalding hot. When done, you pay at the register (no one explains this and you won't see your server again after your food is delivered). Don't expect a lot of warm and fuzzy from the wait crew. In fact, don't expect any at all. Not bad food if you're nearby and need a Pho fix, otherwise venture out for much better selections with our rich array of very good Pho houses in Northern VA. I have been to this place before and up until yesterday it was one of the best places to get pho. For lunch I ordered regular pho. I believe it was number 11. Broth was great but short on meat, and meat actually seemed kind of old. Well shortly after leaving the place, I was not feeling well. I got the symptoms of food poisoning. Still in bed feeling pain while getting better. It must have been the meat. You don't go a restaurant and pay money to get sick. They need to check on freshness of ingredients. I like this place....a lot....and had no idea that not only was it "that' good but also on "that" strip of Rt. 7 that I take every day home from the office. Look out Lucille, this could be a regular takeout stop. Ordered the #19, Chicken breast white meat. Generous portion, and the regular size was just right. Their takeout packaging was generous as well, with lots of extra bean sprouts and all the other piece parts. Once home, I dug in. Amazing. Broth was tasty, noodles not clumpy, chicken sliced to perfection, and overall just what this gal needed on a very cold rainy evening. Also ordered the summer rolls, but I wasn't too jazzed about them. A little bland and on the small-ish side. Wow...the reviews don't lie. I had a craving for Pho and decided to go to this place based on the resoundingly positive comments. It's totally hidden in a small shopping center and you have to park in this small lot in the back. I didn't look at the menu, I just ordered my regular Pho Tai, I like the meat very lean. Typically the Sriracha and Hoisin sit in the seat next to me however, not at Pho Royal. I tried the broth plain and it's definitely the best I've ever had. The amount of noodles were just right. There wasn't as much steak as I am used to but the depth of the flavor in the broth makes up for it. I only added a tad bit of Hoisin and plenty of Sriracha as usual, since I like my pho spicy. Service was good, the gentleman was very nice and continued to fill my water up even as I was leaving. I'm definitely coming back, this place is hard to pass up! read more

Read a review on a FB page and wanted to try them. I wanted to pick up since I only live 6 minutes away. I ordered the pho with 2 meats and the royal appetizer. I asked for a side of fatty brisket and tendon. When I got home, the side meats were freezing cold right out of the fridge. The tendon was rock hard. I was shocked that they wouldn't even warm it up a little which made me think I was eating old meat. I had to get home and heat it with some broth. Which defeated the point of not cooking on a Friday night. The noodles were over cooked and broke easily when the broth was put into the bowl. The best part was the 4 roll appetizer. Unfortunately, they plastic wrapped both of the fresh rice wraps together and they tore when I pulled them apart. Pretty hard to dip a shredded fresh roll with everything is falling out. This place was EMPTY, you would think that they would take time to prepare a delicious meal so the customer would come back. Oh and there is a 10% up charge since there is this covid thing. I wouldn't have minded if my meal was good. I paid over $31.00 for 1 pho, 2 meats and 1 eggroll, 1 pork weird thing and 2 fresh rolls. For delicious pho I will continue to get it at Tea Break in Herndon and they have great boba tea as well. read more

My last visit left me disappointed. I order the sliced pork chop over rice and an iced coffee. The pork chop was too burnt and the rice overcooked and mushy. The side soup that comes with it had some tasty cilantro but otherwise was too oily. The iced coffee just wasn't as good as it has been in the past. It seems the best thing here is to stick with the pho. read more

This place was awesome! Really great food (including some pretty authentic dishes - I only know based on what my friends ordered... I wasn't quite as adventurous, but they all loved what they got). I got a pretty basic noodles and thin slices of beef. I'm sure it's one of the most popular dishes, since it was the first meal on the menu. Food tasted great, service was awesome, prices were good. I even accidentally spilled some of my pho on the floor and was cleaning it up myself when the servers insisted that I stop so they could do it for me. Really nice people. Pho Royal is my local "go-to" Pho restaurant. Its definitely my favorite Vietnamese/Pho restaurant in VA. I give them a 4.5 stars because their service, food, cleanliness is always up there (this should mean a lot to you since I am Vietnamese). The selection here is great and the prices are competitive with all of the other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. The Pho soup is always fresh tasting opposed to greasy tasting and the meat is always plentiful! Appetizers: fried egg rolls, spring rolls, etc. Drinks: Coffee, Soda, Beer, Soy, Bean drinks with jellies, etc. Main Dishes: Pho, Rice dishes, Noodle dishes, etc. I have pretty much have had everything here minus the bean drinks, and everything is great. I don't think I have ever left unsatisfied or hungry. The service is really good and they get your food out to you hot in under 5-10 minutes. The environment is clean and you never have to wait for a table even though the place is packed. My only cons (since I'm Vietnamese) are that their rice dishes are made with jasmine rice and not the traditional broken rice, which honestly if you didn't know you wouldn't care, but I do and even though the large Pho is enough to fill me up, its not as big as other larges that I have seen at other restaurants. I visited Pho Royal about a year ago and never got around to reviewing it. This is a good place. It is not my favorite Pho place in town, but I've actually only been once, and I've been thinking of returning to try some more of their stuff. When I visited I got a beef pho, and I'd like to try a few other combinations. I usually just go simple with like one kind of beef in my pho when I order at most places, but when I got it here I got one that had a lot of extra stuff that I'm not too keen on (not that it was bad, just not my flavor). If you have never had Vietnamese food, then this is a quick, easy way to try some out (assuming you live in or around Cascades). It could be a fun experience for the whole family. Just maybe do a little research on Vietnamese food before you go, because otherwise you may not have any idea of what to order. read more

I went to this place on a cold, snowing, winter day, so it definitely hit the spot. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet, which is what I usually get at Pho Restaurants because I enjoy eating all the different types of meat. The broth had a nice flavor, and they gave a good meat to noodle ratio. The portion was a bit smaller than I usually get at other pho restaurants, so I was still a little hungry after getting a small bowl. The pho menu at this place is nice because they separate the different types by how adventurous the meat is. It is definitely helpful for those who haven't tried all the less conventional meats, such as tripe or tendon. I didn't try any of the other dishes, but they did smell pretty good for what it's worth! I don't live in Virginia, but I would definitely come here again if I'm ever in the area. read more
