We shared the eggs rolls and this crispy parcell roll - very tasty. I ordered the combination salad with prawn, chicken and barbeque pork - they did not skimp on the meat! I was stuffed! Really great place for Vietnamese, can't really go wrong with anything on the menu!

Once we were seated the sprightly service continued and we had some recommendations from the menu. There was a bit of a wait for the food but the wait staff were very attentive and kept us in the loop. We enjoyed watching some of the photo slide shows and reading some of the MANY reviews on the wall. I have travelled Vietnam and explored lots of the cuisine and was VERY impressed at the authentic tastes that the kitchen had to offer. With a great wine list to compliment the dishes, amazing service and absolutely delicious food, it's worth the trip (though perhaps book ahead). We'll be back for their party to celebrate Vietnamese New Year!

Pho South Saigon was an unexpected gem. I've never been to the area before so I had no idea what to…read moreeat. Thanks to the trusty Yelp app for pointing me to a good spot. We walked in on an extremely rainy Friday (as in that crazy Friday where a half an hour drive took me 1.5 hours), just happy to get away from the torrential downpour. After a while we decided or order drinks. I wanted the avocado smoothies but there wasn't any avacado. So I asked for another drink I can't remember but that also wasn't available. So I settled for the three bean drink with shaved ice. It's probably the best one I've had! They handled the sweetness really well because most places will drench it in sugar. This one is creamier and less sweet than usual so it gets 2 thumbs up. It's not a drink for everyone as it contains beans, slivers of green jelly and other things I'm not sure about. So there's alot of textures, warm drink mixed with shaved ice and different flavours going on at the same time. I've been drinking 3 bean for years and still not sure what's in it haha. I got the combination pho (tripe, tendon, sliced beef, brisket and beef balls) and from the first bite it was epic! This must have been the first time I've had pho with really tender brisket, because every other time it's chewy and fairly dry. This one is obviously slow cooked for hours because it almost melts in the mouth, but at the same time it holds its shape when sliced. The beef balls are also amazing. I don't know where they get them from but they're so much flavourful than usual ones. In fact, just the meat in general is higher quality than the stuff you'll find in a typical pho spot. The broth also hits all the right notes. Clean and not heavy, and with the herbs and chilli added it's next level! I also noticed that they gave me some lime instead of lemon. Small thing I know, not that anyone would care because they achieve the same result, but I just like limes more.. For $13 I got a massive bowl I could barely finish! Even after a good workout. Last thing to mention is service. The waitress there was really helpful and friendly who seemed to care about our experience, asking how the food is and things like that. Overall, great food and great prices. I think I spent around $16.50 - $17 for a massive pho and drink, which is solid! It's definitely worth checking out but it's a bit too far for me to go normally. I may not be Vietnamese but it's so goooooooood.

Pho, pho, pho! Bring on the Pho! I have a bit of a thing trying to find the best broth in Adelaide…read more So, as soon as I read Jason Z. review, I hit bookmark and had to check it out. I must have driven past this place a hundred times. Not sure why I missed it? But, so glad I read a review on it otherwise I might not have noticed it at all. So the restaurant is set up near the Marden shopping Centre at the lights on the Paynhem Road side. You will need to park in the shopping centre carpark to get access to this one. The restaurant is not very big, a few booths and chairs set up inside. I heard it is popular during the workday lunch. Probably for Banh mi. But we were here for Pho. First thing to note is that I ordered a small... But, this small is HUGE! I think it is the size of a large in most other places. It was pretty impressive. So, you definitely get your money's worth here. There is a good amount of veggies available for you to add into your soup. We did notice that you do not get thai basil though. Instead you are provided with a sweet basil. But, that is ok. As for the broth, well... there are not many Pho destinations around Adelaide where I don't go reaching for more fish sauce. This broth is really well balanced. All of the spice flavours were there, nice amount of salt and the beef stock flavour really came though. The rice noodles were amazing, very soft and fresh! The onions were sliced a little thick for my liking, but they were jam packed full of broth flavour. Overall, this was a very impressive Pho. In fact, I think this is just as good than the ones offered on the northern end of town. If pho is your thing, mark this one in your bookmarks and give them a go! I will be back!

The selections of wine were brilliant, the staff were friendly although there was slight problems with communication as the waitresses english was not great. We had the vietnamese spring rolls, chi special fried rice, pad thai, crispy choo chi barramundi extra spicy, roast duck in tamarind sauce and fried ice-cream for dessert. The main courses were amazing, constantly surprising us. The spring rolls were made in-house and probably the best spring rolls I've had in Adelaide. The crispy barramundi was also extremely good, the coconut was not overwhelming but the creamy texture was still maintained in the sauce. The stand out dish though was definitely the roast duck in tamarind sauce. When my father choose this item (we have a system where everyone chooses a dish and we share), I have to tell you I was skeptical. All the previous dishes with tamarind that I have tried is generally in indian food - where it is in the form of a chutney or mixed with spices where its taste is lost. The sweetness of the tamarind remains but is not overpowering and is accompanied with citrus flavours and star of anise. The dessert, fried rice and pad thai were nice but a little overpriced. Although the food at this restaurant was excellent, it is slightly overpriced for some of the meals. I can't wait to go back! I think I'll try some of their specials next time.

This store serves lots of different takeaway options. Yiros, Banh Mi, Cold Rolls, Pies, cake, etc... Kind of one of those confused deli's. But, I am always willing to try a Banh Mi. I am not going to let that affect my decision. A few options are available: Spicy Pork, Lemongrass Chicken, avocado or tofu. I went for the lemongrass chicken. The roll was fresh and crunchy, the carrot was well pickled, herbs and cucumber were fresh. The chicken had good flavour, but probably could have been marinated for longer. My only fault would have to be that there was a bit too much carrot in this roll. Maybe this was just a one off. Not bad Banh mi out of the city. But, not the best. I will give them another go though, maybe I caught them on an off day.

I happened to drive past this place and having visited Korea before and being quite a connoisseur…read more(IMO) on Korean food the food on the A-frame out the front stood out as being Korean. Like the previous reviewer said, we were surprised by the mix of varying nationalities of foods. The owners are Korean and so it went without saying we decided to go down the Korean route. We ordered a stonepot bibimbap, beef and noodle stew as well as a medium serve of Korean boneless spicy fried chicken (see picture - the take away pizza container was full before this picture was taken). The bibimbap was superb. There was a lot of beef, pan fried mushroom, seaweed salad etc. You don't always get the mushroom and seaweed salad in a lot of bibimbaps but they made the dish. The stonepot could have been left on the stove a tiny bit longer to give you the crispy rice at the bottom of the bowl (one of the best parts of stonepot versions of bibimbap), but then again that's just a personal preference. The beef and noodle stew only had a very subtle flavour, but that's similar to all Korean restaurants. My tip is don't be afraid to load up on the pepper they supply. The boneless spicy fried chicken is where this place stood out. If you like sweet and spicy flavour combinations, then definitely try this. It is covered with peanuts which stick to the sticky coating. It does cost $24 (I think) for a medium takeaway serve but like I said earlier the small serve will fill up an entire pizza box and you will most definitely have left overs! I ate this dish everywhere in Korea, and this place does the best version of it I have eaten in Adelaide to date.
