I hadn't been back to this place in 8 years for a reason. I was craving Pho and didn't want to drive 30 mins to Charlotte. I wanted to try the new place in Mooresville hello me but it was closed due to gas emergency. Pho NC was closed on Monday so next best option was Pho Nam. Ordered the combination beef pho and two shrimp spring rolls. Realized the prices were fairly cheap. Pho was a little bland. The meat was cooked pretty good. Give it 7/10. The shrimp spring roll was so bad. It was so thin. The rice paper was chewy. It tasted like they rolled up Lettuce with one shrimp cut in half. Did not taste any other vegetables. The sauce was excellent though. That made it edible. 2.5/10. I went to Hello. Me two days later. It's a little more expensive but that place was much better and worth the extra money. I hate to give this place a bad review because I like the owners. read more

Good stuff. They are known for their soup, but I went with the chicken and rice. Also had a small soup on the side. Driving by was surprised to see this place. Open sign on was super happy and in need of a snack. Order was for two shrimp rolls (rice paper). The guy behind the counter seemed shocked asking if "that's it"? Then when payment was being made wanted cash over card. Walking around an empty dinning room had time to watch what was going on in the kitchen. Two men were preparing food with No Gloves On. The guy behind the counter go's into the kitchen and starts to make my order? Uhm excuse me? No hand washing, no gloves. Order cancelled and left grossed out. read more

I have stopped at Pho-Nam twice now and enjoyed each visit! Good pho and good rice dishes. Prices are reasonable and service is quick. There is nothing incredible about Pho-Nam, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. It has become my go to lunch stop for the Cornelius area. read more

I love this place! I frequent it to get Pho for takeout. The soup here is so fragrant and flavorful. Also, the portions are impressive. I always feel full and happy after eating a meal from here! I love how they pack out the noodles and soup in separate containers and bag up the toppings for you. The staff is probably the most wonderful part. First I will share that I am Vietnamese from the Bay Area of California. My family and I have been dining at Pho Nam since it opened. We have watched one anther's children grow, as well as the business. It is simple, home style Vietnamese cooking. No gimmicks. Simple, comfort food for this girl miles away from her Viet family...specifically Mom! The owner, John, will always greet you with a warm welcome and instantly make you feel at home. He will remember you each time you return and make you feel like you are part of his family. The day I leave the Lake Norman area I will be sad for this will be the spot I miss the most. So many memories. So much laughter. So much good, home food...it's not the place for foodies who need fancy cooking terms and special effects. It's the place for family. Quick recap: if you want the best pho you come here. Not a big location and nothing fancy, just good food and fast service. Highly recommend this place if you want to try out high quality Vietnamese food. I usually get the regular Pho, but the shrimp rolls and the chicken and rice are on point as well. I love this place! I've been here twice and my trip today (8/21) was awesome! The Pho Tai is amazing. The broth is so, so flavorful and the garnishes are very fresh! I can't stop thinking about it. It's a small restaurant, so the quiet atmosphere was nice and provided quick service. Pros: Seated immediately and the food was served soon after ordering. Also when you leave you can take a cold bottle of water for free (funny alternative to a mint or candy lol). Cons: The menu provided on this Yelp page is incorrect. I went in expecting the pho to be only $6.95, but it's actually $8.95 for the simpler pho varieties and then $9.95 for pho dac biet (the one with many different meat types). So... I'm pretty disappointed by the misleading advertisement, but I guess I should've known that it was too cheap/good to be true. I'm not sure if this is an issue caused by Yelp or the business. In the end, it's really just like any other pho restaurant in terms of price and taste. Not bad but not special enough that I'd return often (I'm from Southeast Charlotte and visit the Lake Norman area occasionally). There are not that many Vietnamese restaurants here in the Cornelius area. Usually, there are more Sushi and Chinese restaurants. We ordered 2 Rare Beef with Rice Noodle Soup. The soup is scrumptious. Love the noodles. Even though it was rare beef, the beef is totally cooked after a while. We were so hungry after the soup that we also ordered a rice dish. It was the tofu pho for me! I wasn't in the mood for anything too heavy, so this fried tofu pho was an instant pick me up. Even during the usual lunchtime rush, we were seated promptly and didn't wait long to receive our order. This is the best Pho restaurant in town! I love their pho ga and I get it every single time. Very generous portion sizes and the staff is so friendly! Spring rolls were great. Pho broth was thin but overall was okay. Pho condiments were provided when asked for instead of available on the tables. Papaya salad dressing was flavorless and their garnish choice was odd. Lemongrass chicken was disappointing because I tasted no Lemongrass. None. It was all sweet peanut (tasty) sauce. The fish sauce dressing for the raw veggies was rancid smelling and tasted like dirty gym socks.
