Delicious!!!!! The Thai tea was amazing. I could literally drink 10 of them! The egg rolls were also perfectly crunchy and golden they're served with lettuce and cilantro and a dipping sauce idk what it is tbh but the guy said to wrap it in the greens and dip it and it was fire! Try it with a lil hot sauce the service was very kind and even though it was a busy lunch the service was fast. the Pho was good too I got the brisket of course and my man got the combo pho. They were very clear broth and very tasty it was slightly sweet though so don't add hoisin! Thai tea was so good I forgot to take pictures of the rest of our order

1/9/24 - We came in during the late afternoon/early evening and there was only one other party there. I ordered a large bowl of the Combination Pho which I shared with my partner as well as a serving of their fried egg rolls. The combination pho comes with an assortment of meats that you can submerge into the broth upon receiving it to further cook it to your liking. It comes with a side plate of limes, bean sprouts, jalapeños, and other greens. The pho is authentic and the broth is warm and comforting. The meats all taste good too. The fried egg rolls were split into 9 pieces. It came with lettuce to wrap them in as well as a container with fish sauce to dip into. The fried eggs rolls were good on their own, but the sauce elevated the taste. The owner is nice and friendly and takes good care of his customers. The food is also very affordable and you get a large portion for what you're paying for. The other pho places in Whittier are Pho Whittier and Pho n' Roll. If you're willing to drive out towards the Santa Fe Springs area, I believe this place tastes more authentic and better and has better value for its food at its price point.

Been here a few times and always had a great experience. The food is always hot and fresh and tastes great. The inside is small but comforting and it gives the look that you know you'll have a great meal. The gentlemen that's always there I assume is the owner is always so kind and has a smile you can tell he really loves this place.

Really not that good. Our egg rolls were burnt. Our spring rolls were watery and flavorless. The sauces were abysmal, watery, flavorless. The veggies were old and wilted. The cilantro was black on all the edges. I would say overall this was a really poor experience.

Giving One star just for the beef lo lac because that dish was the highlight but beside that, I hate to give bad reviews but never had such bad customer experience and bad spring rolls ever. Especially for a Vietnamese restaurant, everyone knows that spring rolls (goi cuon) has vermicelli in it. Ask any Vietnamese especially if spring rolls come with vermicelli and they will tell you it does. When I told the guy that it didn't taste good, no vermicelli in there, and even the peanut sauce was like watery, he just ignored me and didn't even offer to change it or make another one. The bald head guy started getting upset and didn't even wanna try to listen. He says that some goi cuon doesn't have vermicelli and I should have asked before I order it. Nver heard that before. I asked him if he ever went to a vietnamese restaurant and asked for vermicilli in his spring rolls, he wouldn't even answer. Don't think this guy is a real Vietnamese. Won't be coming here again. Go to pho 45 if you want good Vietnamese food, where at least they will treat you with respect and you don't have to order vermicelli in your spring rolls because IT ALREADY COMES IN IT. read more

Ok first things first id give it a five but since ive only been there twice a 4 will have to due for now. The service is great, you get the feeling that family is serving you and thats because quite frankly they are. I had spring rolls and a #3 w/ thai tea. Excellent! Pho didnt need condiments at all but I threw sprouts, bit of chili, and greens in anyways. Sandy, my waitress was very sweet and we chatted about the college life at lb and la. Pho mai is small but thats what gives you that intimate home cooked meal feeling. Cheers to pho mai!! read more

Not too big of complaints for this restaurant. One, the service was mediocre. Didn't check on us too much and sort of concentrated on their own thing. Two, it was a little pricey than other pho places I've gone to. But other than the the food was very good & we didn't have to wait too long for our food to come out. Overall, I would come here again if I was really craving it but if not, I would find another place that isn't as expensive. read more

My girlfriend took me to eat Pho for my first time. Ive lived around the corner from there about 8 years and never noticed this place. Im glad she took me I loved the food I had a #2 and #101 egg rolls were amazing! The customer service was also very friendly. A must try if you never ate there before read more

Pho mai is our favorite local pho place- 5/5 stars if were talking about the area. its kind of a hole in the wall which is nice because it has a nice family feeling. The broth is super yummy and i love that they give ou extra limes (most places give you one or two limes with almost no juice). The place was surprisingly very clean, cleaner than any pho place ive ever been to. The other food dishes looked delicious and i plan on trying some in the future. read more

Growing up in whittier, I only Columbused this place in recent years BUT since trying their thin beef slice pho and combination fried rice, it has become my and my bf's regular order. There is hands down no better place. Tried pho places in El Monte and puente hills, with higher Asian pop., but pho mai has rly fresh veggies, flavorful broth, and the bombest egg rolls The owner is a kind older guy always with a smile ready for his customers. read more

I used to work across the street from this place and would eat here 1-2 times per week. I would get it to go a lot of the time, and my coworkers always knew what I was eating. Piping hot PHO soup! # 2 on the menu is my fave and an order of egg rolls! YUMMY YUMM!!! This place is very tiny, and u can easily miss it. I used to call my order in all the time, then go pick it up. It never took over 10 min, thats fast! The owners are really nice, and always give me all the little extras I want. (Chile + Lime) This is making me miss it so. I guess I'll have to make a stop in here soon! read more

I've been coming to this family is a family owed restaurant for 7 years now. The pho here is absolutely amazing. Also I would highly recommend the lemon grass chicken on a hot day or the filet mignon. Just note that if you order the filet mignon is for a garlic lover. It does get extremely crouded during lunch business days and winter. Also if you plan to place a phone order during these times, I would recommend placing it a half hour to 45min before hand. read more

Had a late lunch here with a friend from out of town. Was warned by my sister not to eat here cause of her bad experience, but according to Yelp, it was an ok place to go. I took my chances....... Should have listened to my sister.... I ordered the spring rolls and egg rolls as an appetizer. Now, first off, let me say that I am vietnamese and know what Vietnamese food is supposed to taste like. The spring rolls had very small amounts of pork and shrimp in it, overloaded with noodles (filler if you ask me), stale vegetables, and hard rice paper. The peanut sauce was so watered down it didn't even taste like peanut sauce anymore. Disgusting!! The eggrolls were no better. They weren't fresh and were thin. WTF? Vietnamese eggrolls aren't thin by any means. The Nuoc Mam (fish sauce for dipping the eggrolls), was so watered down also. It didnt even taste like fish sauce. The eggrolls themselves were burnt. Not a good start. I ordered the Fried Rice with everything in it. It was ok, but come on, who can mess up fried rice? Oh wait.. read one of my other reviews... it's possible. =( The only reason this establishment doesn't get one star, is how nice the people are. Attentive and always checking up on you. Word of advice. They don't have any AC. Instead they prop the door open with ceiling fans in hyper mode. Not much seating area, so order to go if you need to. I won't be back. I can get better Vietnamese food at Pho Olivia. read more

Went here with my Pops and the food was great! Service was a little slow though. Place is kinda small but it is very clean. And the pho broth was a bit too salty but it was good! I got the seafood pho and my father got the fried rice with saucage and chicken and beef in it, that was really good too. I love that they give you little fried rolls too, this is the only place I've been to so far that's done that. I'm definetly coming back here soon! read more

Great place for Pho! It seems like the word got out about that too cause sometimes you have to wait for a table, but it's worth it if you have to. Once you order though the food doesn't normally take long to get to your table. The soup is tasty and the price isn't expensive. I always drink either their Thai tea or hot green tea. I haven't explored the menu past their pho so I can't say much about what else they have, but if you're in the mood for pho check out this place! read more

This place is dirty. N portions are small. Had the pho tai/beef wrap. Beef wrap had like 2 pieces of beef and tasted funny. Pho tai was super greesy. Had the runs right when i got home. Sigh. This ia wat i get for not going to pho tasty since it was 1 mi further. read more

My fiancée wanted soup so we decided to try this place in whittier. We got there 20 min before they closed and sat right down and looked at the menu to order. We both ordered the Pho. She got the chicken and I got the special. We also ordered some shrimp and pork spring roles with a peanut butter dipping sauce. Place looked a little run down and old but those are the best places. The little hole in the walls. Will be going back, you can't really go wrong with Pho. read more

This place is very small and gets PACKED for lunch so go early! I had the beef steak pho which was a large portion and very good although I would have appreciated some more vegetables (onions, cilantro, etc.). They also have green iced tea which is my favorite and probably a good part of the reason I am giving 4 stars! read more

Came here on Veteran's Day with the fiance and was delighted with the food & service. As a person of Vietnamese descent AND having established and worked in our own family-operated Vietnamese restaurant in my childhood/ young adulthood, I appreciated the spirit & heart of this place, too. I had the beef ball pho and my fiance had the prawn, grilled pork, & egg roll vermicelli. We also had fried egg rolls on the side. Delicious! Everything! Fresh vegetables, meats had that awesome just-off-the-grill essence. Thumbs way up to all the other ingredients. You can tell from the excellent quality that they don't cut corners in the prep. My fiance commented that he thought the pho broth was a tad sweeter than what he is used to, which I agree - but it's still good. Our Pho broth is slow cooked with extra brisket and beef to create a richer flavor than most other recipes. Our current special is Com Bo Luc Lac, diced Fillet Mignon over a bed of seasoned onions and salad, served with steamed rice. It's not on the menu so be sure to inquire about it. We make our own peanut sauce(Fresh spring rolls, Yum!) and blend our own Thai tea, a perfect refreshment on a hot day. Our egg rolls are also unique as we make a Chinese fusion style, served with fresh greens to wrap with and fish sauce to dip.

Unfortunately, the experience changed when it came to the meat and broth temperature. Since the beef was raw, I expected the broth to be hot enough to cook it properly, especially because I started eating it immediately at the table outside near the fireplace. But the broth just wasn't hot enough. Even after letting the meat sit in the soup for around 4 minutes, it still tasted undercooked and had that iron/bloody taste, so I ended up removing most of it. Because of that, I wouldn't recommend ordering the pho to-go unless you're taking it home and can reheat the broth in a microwave. I don't have one at home, which is why I chose to eat it immediately nearby instead. That said, I would definitely come back -- next time I'd order dine-in instead because the flavor and presentation were genuinely very good.

We've been coming to this place for years! It's a quaint little hole in the wall restaurant, that never ceases to fill the even BIGGER hole in my tummy when I'm craving a nice bowl of Pho :) The servers there are extremely friendly, and the owner goes above and beyond to make our kids feel very welcome. In fact, the moment we get there, my 6 year old daughter looks forward to speaking with the owner ...as opposed to me looking forward to placing some amazing Vietnamese cuisine in my belly! Apparently, my daughter and I have totally different priorities here lol The place isn't overly crowded during the evenings, however, it can get packed during lunch hours. We were in the area and my kids wanted pho so we stumbled upon this little pho restaurant. Nothing fancy just a little hole in the wall but the food was delicious and the waiter is so friendly. We got the kids pho and they enjoyed it. We saw a picture of the vermicelli and it looked good so we had to try it. We got the lemon grass chicken and the bbq pork. Both were great but the lemon grass chicken was my favorite out of the two. Definitely give this place a try if youre in the area and want authentic Vietnamese food! read more

Stopped in here because I'm a big fan of Vietnamese vermicelli bowls. The older lady working had a rough time communicating with me exactly what I wanted. The menu item I desired only was listed with pork and I wanted chicken. After 5 minutes of pointing and hand gesturing she finally got that I wanted to substitute chicken for pork lol. I've been coming here for a couple of years now, the Bo Luc Lac is the best dish in my opinion, the owner uses quality meat and you can substitute fried rice for white rice to make the dish even better! I think the guys name is Sun (or Son), he is very friendly. There is not too many tables and lunch time gets packed so if you are in a rush you should get there by 11:30 am or else come after 1 o clock. read more
