Not bad for two full dishes, a side of fried rice, Thai tea and iced tea.

The food is fantastic. The staff are always friendly and attentive but not too attentive. They let you eat. The spot is in a strip mall but it's comfortable and always very clean

A Solid 4 Stars**** Food 4 Stars**** Price 4 Stars**** Cleanliness 4 Stars**** Ambiance 4 Stars**** Pad see ew 4 Stars**** Pineapple Fried Rice: 4.5 Stars***** Chicken Satay 3.5 Stars**** Desert 5 Stars coconut ice cream with fried chips. So, good! So, today on this sunny afternoon, my mother and her dutiful offspring venture into the culinary wonderland of Lucky Thai Restaurant. My momma, ever the connoisseur of life's finer things, asked me if I could recommend a meal that was a "flavorful spiritual extravaganza." Naturally, I rose to the challenge, knowing full well that Asian cuisine, much like its Mediterranean counterpart, is an explosion of flavors that can send one into a trance, questioning all their life choices. Thus, I had her try four of my all-time favorites, plus dessert, of course. **Fresh Spring Roll**: We kicked things off with the Spring Rolls, wrapped delicately in rice paper and stuffed with mixed greens, pork, and shrimp. It came with four rolls and two dipping sauces - a tasty oil concoction and a delightful peanut sauce. The rolls were generous with shrimp, pork, and vegetables, making them a steal at $10.95. Momma loved them so much she nearly tried to smuggle the peanut sauce in her purse. **Pineapple Fried Rice**: Next up, my all-time favorite, the Pineapple Fried Rice. Now, let's be honest here: they only gave us two shrimp, which is a shrimp travesty considering other places shower you with at least six. But, and this is a big but, the stir-fried rice with shrimp, chicken, pineapple, onions, egg, cashew nuts, and curry powder was so divine, I didn't even think to complain. At $17.95, it's a bit pricey, but hey, sometimes you pay extra for enlightenment. **Pad See Ew Noodle**: The Pad See Ew was our third delight. Pan-fried rice noodles with shrimp, egg, Chinese broccoli, and black soy sauce. Having sampled this dish at over 50 Thai joints, I consider myself a bit of a Pad See Ew snob. This one was good - not earth-shattering, but solid. Let's call it average in a good way. Worth the $14.95 for sure. **Chicken Satay**: Then, there was the Chicken Satay. Grilled marinated chicken with Thai herbs and coconut milk, served with peanut sauce and cucumber salad. It was okay, not mind-blowing, but decent. At $10.95, it's a fair trade-off for some protein, even if it didn't exactly transport us to the streets of Bangkok. **Dessert**: Finally, we reached the grand finale - crispy coconut chips with sesame seeds and coconut ice cream. This dessert was nothing short of a revelation. I've never been a coconut fanatic, but wow! The crispy, delicate chips paired perfectly with the smooth, silky ice cream, sending my sweet tooth into overdrive. A fitting end to our flavorful journey. In conclusion, Lucky Thai Restaurant delivered a flavorful spiritual extravaganza that left momma and me both satisfied and slightly dazed - questioning our life choices, but in the best possible way.

Not worth the price $$$$ and to add tofu it was going to be an extra $5

The ladies were nice but I don't think I got what I paid for. I highly recommend just going to the one near Telegraph rd and Colima

Barf!!! Chicken 40. Pad See Ew DISAPPOINTED

Ordered for Lunch and our Pad See Ew order looked like barf! The Noodles were not distinguished at all, made me sick to my stomach!

    62. Garlic Pepper (Tofu)

Food was amazing! I ordered the garlic pepper tofu with rice and it was very flavorful and delicious. Perfect serving size for lunch! We also tried the crème brûlée for dessert and it was very nice. The price was great too!

    Thai Iced Tea was great!

Came here for a work lunch and it was great. Quick service and fresh food. I ordered the pad Thai with chicken with a Thai iced tea. We shared pork spring rolls and chicken fried rice. All delicious and it left me so full. I'm not always going to be in this area, but this is a definite solid thai spot!

The mom runs the kitchen and you can taste the heart behind the food, her recipes are straight-up comforting and packed with flavor. The owners are incredibly welcoming, and the whole place has this cozy, homey vibe that makes you feel like you're being invited into someone's dining room rather than just another restaurant. The staff is super kind and attentive, which made the experience even better. My personal favorites were the yellow curry and the pineapple fried rice, but honestly, everything we tried was just as delicious. It's the kind of place where you leave already thinking about what you're going to order next time. Parking is easy too since it's in a plaza. Plenty of free parking, no stress finding a spot. If you're in the South Whittier area and craving Thai food, this is one of those local gems you want to support.

For the rice, I go with spice level 3 which is definitely spicy but still super flavorful and enjoyable without overpowering the dish. Their Thai Iced Tea is amazing too! I've taken it to-go and it doesn't get watered down, which I really appreciate. Service is super friendly and it's a great spot for takeout when I want a delicious and reliable Thai meal. Love it here!

We had plenty of leftovers to take home. Everything was so delicious including the pad Thai, fried rice (yes I know that's 2 starches but wow it was good), stir fry vegetables (this was a huge mountain of vegetables), green curry chicken, pork belly, fried shrimp appetizer. Service was very attentive. the waitress came over multiple times to check on us. Ambience was really nice and beautifully decorated. We sat at a large table where the 6 of us sat comfortably. I went to Dean by Dean Noodles after spotting them locally on Yelp & man... am I glad I did…read more Ambiance is casual, with a mix of table & chair setups as well as booth seating. Comfortable & easy. I did notice they still had Christmas decor up when I went, even though it was already February. Not sure if it's part of their everyday aesthetic or just lingering holiday spirit, but either way it was super cute, especially at night. Service was warm from the start. Both the host & server checked in just enough & repeated my order back for accuracy, which is always appreciated. I came in craving Thai flavors but wasn't exactly sure what I wanted yet. If you're into Thai fusion or noodle spots with a diverse menu, this place gives you a lot to work with. After looking through a well-assorted menu, I landed on the Chili & Basil Chicken Egg Rolls to start & the Creamy Coconut Lemongrass Pasta for my entrée. I noticed signage mentioning Channel 7 calling their chili & basil chicken egg rolls the best, so of course I had to try them. It wasn't just the recommendation, but the intrigue of basil chicken inside an egg roll that sold me. They came out crispy, packed with deep basil flavor, & had a great filling-to-wrapper ratio. Now for the star of the show. The Creamy Coconut Lemongrass Pasta wasn't what I expected to order, but it ended up being exactly what I needed. The flavor was rich, creamy, lightly sweet, & paired perfectly with well-sized shrimp. I've been on a skinny noodle kick lately, so I went with the glass noodles. They do offer other noodle options too, which is great if glass noodles aren't your thing. Portion size is generous, easily shareable between two. That said, I was more than happy to keep it to myself & enjoy the leftovers. Definitely a solid spot if you're in the Long Beach or OC area looking for flavorful Thai-inspired noodles. Dean by Dean Noodles is definitely a must-try if you're in the area. Thank you for the amazing food & great service!

Truly restrained myself. Then came the mango sticky rice... and listen, I should've taken a picture because it came out looking like it was ready for a magazine cover. The purple rice they used? Gorgeous. And honestly, I liked it way more than the usual white sticky rice. It felt fancy!
